I was at Lolla, but I wish NIN would play Allstate or someplace else around Chicago which won't be as crowded with dirty hippies. (All offense.)

Dirty hippies? I was more concerned about the fucking drunken bros. It was like John Barleycorn shipped out all of it's drunken, idiot males to Lollapalooza for the weekend. They probably would have had their collars popped if they had bothered to wear shirts.

I'm DYING for them to play here again, if only to hear the extra songs that they couldn't play at Lolla! It would also be nice to be around all NIN fans, as opposed to the "well, I don't really like Kanye and I'm WAAAASTTEEDD AND FEEL LIKE GOIN' PUNCHIN'" fans that were in the pit at Lolla.

I'm going to Cedar Rapids for sure, though. =)

09/04/08 6:10 PM

Sup, I'm for sure hitting Cedar Rapids, and the other show in Iowa.

I'm a bit bummed that there are no more Chi-Town dates on this tour. Too bad, but maybe there will be additions....who knows. I really don't mind driving out of state to see them though. I'm a fan of driving, listening to tunes, and smoking some mango cush to keep from being bored. Plus I've never been to Cedar Rapids, and I have a place to crash in Iowa City.

09/04/08 6:18 PM

I love living in Chicago. Best effing city in the world. But the weather? Meh. It's torture.

09/04/08 7:25 PM

Hope I'm not too late to the party...

09/04/08 9:04 PM

Im from the Mattoon/Charleston area. Home of EIU, CORN, The original Burger king, and where Jimmy Johns was founded! WOOP CORN!

09/04/08 9:17 PM

I am from Southwestern IL myself. You know the forgotten part of the Sate? grinning smiley

09/04/08 8:28 PM

Hello, I was once on a sunny little island drifting upon the Gulf of Mexico, now I've found myself in the windy city on a rainy night..It's pretty killer to see some similar music enthusiasts living here in Chicago. I attended Lollapalooza, or should I say, rocked it!! I too was badgered by nincompoops, ShootTheWendy. One incident occurred while I was near the stage during the NI? *SPECTACULAR* performance. Agh, these douche-bags tried to make me drink what appeared to be beer, I was so fed up with 'em, like you do not get in between a virgin NI? concert attendee and the vibes she's receiving from stage, seriously, so I knocked 'em to the ground. What a night! Still cleaning blood outta my ears from the eargasm TR & Co. penetrated into the night sky. I've prolly got some brain matter floating around Saturn. I cannot wait to see this show in an arena setting!! smiling bouncing smiley

09/04/08 8:36 PM

Greatest city in the world Chicago...........ah. Go Cubs anyone?

09/04/08 11:02 PM

i also wish nin would play a smaller venue like allstate or even the shitty world/tweeter/first midwest bank whatever-the-fuck ampitheatre. the bros were a huge problem at lolla. they made it hard to chief a bowl without getting pushed (does that make me one of the dirty hippies?)

southside, but go cubs.

I'm another Illinoisian (ill-annoyin'?) from the middle of the state. I'm originally from the Chicago area, and currently residing in Decay-tur. Aah, the smell of it!

09/05/08 1:07 AM

Hello, I'm from Central IL (NEAR Peoria) but I tend to go to Chicago quite often. And s0mewhat_damag3d, I have worked in the Decatur Mall quite a few times in the last couple of years.

09/05/08 2:49 AM

Sooo...I've been living in Chicago for a year and I LOVE the city (although winter made me wanna die) ... does that qualify me for posting in here? smiling smiley

09/05/08 3:09 AM

One year so far in Chicago. Lets see if I can survive another winter.

09/05/08 8:26 AM

Are all of you "one year" Chicago-ans in college? I graduated from Columbia last year. Soooo happy to be done!

ohmygawd, they tried to make you drink something? Haha, that's an extra level of creepy right there. The douchebags were everywhere at Lolla, at every show, but it doesn't even matter because Lolla was AMAZING.

And you'd better believe I'm a Cubs fan.

'Sup (past) Columbia College attendee. smileys with beer I'm currently at the beginning of my third year and already can't wait to be done.

Go Cubs!

Ha, yeah, and they were soo pissed off that I denied 'em and made their drink get on their shirtless chests! It didn't mark down my rating of superbness from the show though, can't wait for next year..I wonder if NIN will come back around for it..

Anyway, I too just moved into the city-July 4th this year-living right smack in the LOOP. I've yet to venture through a true winter, seeing that I'm from the sunshine state, it'll surely make or break me. I'll be heading to Columbia in the spring, unless McCain wins thumbs down, then I'm outtie lol. spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

09/05/08 6:19 PM

I just moved from Naperville. I miss it so much.

09/05/08 6:23 PM

Alessa -- what's your major? I was AEMMP, music management. I really liked some aspects of Columbia but I FUCKING HATED a lot of others. I do miss being downtown so much, though! Mmm and that place next to the 600 S Michigan building with the delicious greasy food.

ohmygawd -- Yay for Columbia NIN fans! But holy balls, winter is terrible. Seriously. It gets pretty fucking bad. But it makes the spring so much more beautiful after suffering through it! And spring/summer in the city is absolutely, 100% incredible.

Was Columbia worth it? cause I'm planning on transferring sometime in the future for film/photography/ journalism (yes three majors) I've visited a few times love the atmosphere and location..

and yes i'm a cub fan too... smiling smiley

09/05/08 8:52 PM

Graduated from DePaul over a year ago. It's about my fifth year in Chicago, though.
Did anyone else go to the With Teeth shows at Congress? I was lucky enough to go to both of them.

Curi.

09/06/08 11:49 AM

ILLINOIS, FUCK YEAH! Been living in Chicago since I was 2. Best damn city ever. Illinois, for those that look past the corn, has some awesome places to visit. Amazing natural sites.

09/06/08 3:27 PM

anyone hear, Blagojevich is going to close half of the Illinois state parks!!!? Complete bullshit!

I'm currently in IAM - it's basically computer graphics with a bunch of other random computer stuff thrown in. I absolutely adore the loop and Upass makes it cheap to get around to other parts of the city (if the red line is up and running haha).

That diner and Thai Spoon are my shit. So tasty thumbs up

I grew up in Southern Illinois, a little shithole called Metropolis that you may, but probably have not heard of (might as well have been in Kentucky). Moved up to the west 'burbs three years ago. I like the Cubs, but I'm a life long St. Louis Cardinals fan. But since they suck this year I'm pulling for the Cubs.

Didn't bother going to see NIN at Lol-uh-paul-ooza buecause I fucking hate festivals.

I have been through there and visited your Superman Statue. Very nice. grinning smiley

I am a Cardinals fan. But I cannot find myself rooting for the Cubies anytime soon. I am sure you Cubs fans would feel the same in you were in our position? It is all in good fun though. I love the rivalry.

Yay, corn! And let's not forget soybean and winter wheat!

My parents live in Central Illinois, so I guess that's home.

Another visitor of Metropolis, and yes, all I remember is the Superman statue. I think I went through the museum too.

I went back home to visit central IL a couple months ago, was so good to be home.

Pad Thai is a favorite of mine. I think I've made it a goal to try the dish in every Thai restaurant around Chicago and the suburbs.
It will be devastatingly harsh during the cold, since I'm from the sub-tropics. I heard Jan/Feb were the absolute toughest out of the 4 months last year. I'll be dreaming about my island in the Gulf, and hopefully it'll survive Ike..(Fucking hurricanes, only good for the hurricane parties and days off school). Ice storms, blizzards, whatever you call them- does Chicago see much of those or what? Why is it cold out now, wtf? And I've been told to acquire many indoor (intriguing) hobbies, because most people become alcoholics out here.

09/08/08 10:28 PM

uh

I want to find the girl I met in the pit at the NIN show at Lolla. She told me I saved her life in there.

I don't remember her name (it was loud)...she was from Chicago, really cute. That doesn't help much does it...piss.
