so what did you guys think of the target center show?
my ex boyfriend, who's a huge nin fan, wrote this terrible blog on myspace saying that the show was boring and that trent reznor is going through his "fat elvis" stage. i'd go so far as to say that trent didn't seem maybe as into it as the last time he was in MN for the xcel show, but common, the show was fantastic and the man's a genius! any opinions?

12/04/08 9:01 PM

Um I don't know what concert he was watching but Trent looks damn good and in shape! There was tons of energy and excitement from the crowd and band! I think your ex is just a hater!! No offense to you btwsmiling smiley

12/04/08 9:13 PM

none taken there's a reason hes my ex!! i agree, i think reznor looked great. he's gone from being Scrawny Sexy to the Ultimate Rocking Hunk. i think my favorite part of the show was the way he, like, slowed down "piggys". and i loved "march of the pigs", he really rocks that one live

I might be moving to the southern Minnesota/Wisconsin area in the future.

Can anyone recommend some good restaurants?

For the Minneapolis dwellers:

Is anyone else creeped out by this face getting posted everywhere?

Haha definitely, well, I'm from Southern/South Eastern Wisconsin so that depends, but what's popular among a lot of people for quality fast food is Culvers. It has some pretty awesome burgers and custard; There are a bunch in MN and a crap ton in WI.

12/06/08 3:37 PM

Seeing as I'm in Minneapolis and a vegetarian, I can recommend some really good places. Depends on what your budget looks like and what sort of cuisine you prefer.

If you like Asian and have a bottomless stomach, I highly recommend Khan's Mongolian Barbecue. Great build-your-own stir-fry buffet place.

12/06/08 10:53 PM

That's funnt jbrown3 I recommended Culvers to goldeye too! Gotta love those butterburgers!

*hugs everyone in the thread*

Ok, I do live in LA, have for 10 years. But I'm continually homesick and get home to my tiny town (born and raised - still have the bdrm at mom's that I was brought home from the hospital to) of 3000 peeps in the Northwoods of Wisconsin at least twice a year. Yay I'll be flying into CWA Xmas eve and be gettin my snow on oh yeah and my Leinie's on and oh yeah my deep fried cheese curds and friday night fish fry and omg I love you all and I love that place. <3 I love going to the bar on main street that an old classmate owns and I can always see someone I know in there most likely wearing either a flannel shirt or a packers hat/coat or some blaze orange and they more than likely smell like snowmobile exhaust oh my... smiling smiley

My first NIN encounter was Feb 4, 1995 at the Target Center in Minneapolis. [Further Down the Spiral tour] I was going to STOUT at the time and trekked over there with my roomies.

sad smiley shit... I'm even more homesick now... I am looking out my window in North Hollywood at palm trees when this time of year I need snow dammit...

12/07/08 12:16 PM

Well Jenny there's plenty of snow out here right now, you can have it! I'm sure I'd miss it too though! I always check this thread cuz I like having that bond with my midwest ppl! Makes me feel like I'm not alone and there are nin fans out there in these boring states haha! I wish I could give you all a big hug as well....but I can't but try and feel the invisible hug haha!

12/07/08 12:30 PM

Yay! Alisha I sure wish I could take your snow, seeing as I can't, I'll settle for the E hug which is awesomeness. I think I felt it! smiling smiley I believe growing up in a place like the upper midwest where there is a sense of isolation in these smaller towns, kids gravitate towards music like NIN which encompasses some sort of that feeling. Just know that you do live in a very special place, try not to overlook the simple things which are extremely special and get seriously lost in a place like Hollywood. Things that used to annoy or embarrass me back home I now embrace.

12/07/08 3:22 PM

^ Jenny, you can have the snow in this region (I live right above the state of Minnesota btw). You can gladly have it!

I want to look out my window and see palm trees.

Let's trade houses or something. And I'm only 46% joking with that comment

Haha yeah, well, I'd say butterburgers take some building up of the stomach; last time I launched right into one after not having eaten one in months and it felt like I had a greasy rock in my stomach for four hours...that's the joy of quality fast food right?? Pleasure now, pain later.

Hey peeps I was just needing to say hi! I don't have anything pressing to discuss just missing my midwesterners! I just got done with all my Christmas shopping now time to wrap presents!

01/03/09 2:15 AM

This needs a wee bit of a bump; Happy '09 Wisconsinites and Minnesotans!

01/03/09 7:59 PM

I was thinking that too jbrown! I thought we fell off the forum or something haha! Happy New Year to you too! Right now it is glare ice on the streets and sidewalks yay Minnesota!

01/03/09 10:42 PM

The glare on the roads is really bad at times! Sometimes I can't even see the lights in the traffic signals.

Yikes! Careful. Well, since you folks just had it I think we Wisconsinites are just getting it, at least in the eastern part of the state; there is freezing rain moving in thus let the ice creation begin!

01/03/09 10:35 PM

It's dangerous stay home people! Unless you have to drive to work like me then you're screwed haha
