12/01/08 1:05 PM

This is honestly the best news ever!

12/01/08 1:26 PM

I don't know how I managed to be so incredibly slow that I didn't find out till randomly seeing the article on Stuff at like 10.30 yesterday morning.... I squealed at my desk and spent the rest of the morning a little giddy.
Good way to brighten a gloomy Monday morning.

12/02/08 5:02 PM

Oh man finally!!! after 8 years YIPPIE!!!! Its gonna be awesome, had to fly over to aussie in 07 to see them there. Yeah I have a soundwave ticket to thanks to my aussie pal. Well hopefully some of my spiral pals will will jump across from aussie to have a good time here at the Auckland show grinning smiley

12/02/08 5:12 PM

So guys (and girls smiling smiley) Who wants to meet up and hang before the Auckland show?

12/02/08 7:24 PM

I'd love too, but i'll be flying to Auckland at 5pm on the 17th, and then rushing to hotel to drop off bags, then rushing back to Vector to try and make it at 7pm!
Afterwards tho! grinning smiley

12/03/08 3:48 AM

Yeah we should definitely all try to meet up before/after if possible. Always nice to meet others who are into the same stuff you are smiling smiley

12/03/08 3:50 AM

I'm keen for sure.

12/03/08 4:03 AM

Void, are you going up the day before the show or the day of? Cos I'm from Chch too smiling smiley

12/03/08 2:12 PM

Haven't decided yet. I could go either day. Saving myself a night's accommodation by going up on the 17th is probably what i'll do though.

WOOT! So glad I don't have to go to aussie to see LITS.

So anyone else from Wellington going? We should have like a whacky race from Wellie to Aucks!

Its monday morning and I only just woke up but this news has made my whole week already. Your a legend Trent, thanks for booking us lil ole kiwi's a date, I can't wait to see you guys.

I am! grinning smiley I can't wait!

12/04/08 12:00 AM

Pretty pleased to hear this. Unfortunately I can't afford a ticket just now so I will probably just hope to grab one in the near future. Fuck. :\

12/04/08 2:39 AM

From what Trent's said it probably won't be the same production etc. Heck, I have no idea what to expect.

12/04/08 3:38 AM

I know the shows in Australia weren't quite up to the same standard as the shows in the U.S.. basically we didn't get those massive screens etc., like what they got in the U.S. I should try to stay hopeful but I am not entirely sure if we'll get a production that's quite as big? It's a long way to lug a shitload of stuff.

No matter what, I'm OK, as long as I get to see them.

Hey, void, what is the distance between Christchurch and Auckland? Could you take a random guess as how many km?

Probably 1000kmish. No idea really. I'd say it's about 400km to the top of the South Island from CHCH and probably more from Wellington to Auckland. Plus there's cook straight in the middle.

-> I looked it up and it said 1054.

You could take a week and gradually work yourself up there by car if you wanted. See all the little towns of NZ along the way. Might be fun.

Awesome, I am soooo looking forward to meeting some other NZ fans to!!

12/04/08 10:30 PM

Pre-sales are up now, just got mine. Hopefully see you all there.

So I have figured out the logistics for this happy little trip to Aucks (f**kin hate the place, only going for the show!) and I figure I will have to ride an aeroplane there and back. What I would like to propose to other Welli cats is that we find out where to buy the cheap seats and all ride the same plane to and from so we can share cab/ shuttle costs. Last time I went to Auck to see a show it cost me more for the cab from the airport to the city than the plane ride cost...
I hope to ride the plane up at around lunchtime on the day of the show and ride back the next day at about lunchtime. Why not just cruise I saysmiling smiley

12/05/08 3:47 PM

Yeah, void, that is an idea... but I don't think I'll have the time to do that. I have a feeling I will be just flying to Auckland and flying out probably the next day. I'm still not even sure if I will be able to afford it. I'm owed so much money from my boss. :\

Oh well, going to stay positive and cross my fingers I can make it. We should have a meet up the day of the show. Would be neat. I remember we organised some meets before the Aussie shows... was good fun.

12/07/08 6:24 AM

I was thinking - should we make some sort of banner to hang over the rail?
Just a suggestion.

Greetings from across the Tasman smileys with beer

I'll be heading over there from Sydney to attend the show! spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

It has turned out to be a great excuse to vist my family & friends over in NZ, even though NIN is the real reason to why I'm going (I know, I'm bad) grinning smiley

Looking forward to seeing you all!

Will head back to Sydney with my dear friend Rachel, and attend Soundwave together!

I little hint for you and all the others flying into Auckland (like myself). There is a bus that leaves from just outside the domestic terminal that travels into the city and stops at all the major Hotels etc. Last time I caught it, a couple of months ago, it was $22 return. You did not have to use the return the same day, so you could use it on the way back to the airport when you are travelling home. It also runs every 15 minutes, which is great.

Here is a link for the Airport to City bus =) Hope it helps some of you out, as a taxi would be hella expensive!
