That's the same kind of logic as my agent asking me to make my CV bigger but smaller. Love it!!

OK...

I need to change the water for The Office Goldfish and completely clear out a rabbit hutch (that has a rabbit snoozing it it at the mo...) And then I'm off to my usual Thursday night volunteer thingy at the wildlife hospital. Is it me, or would a career in animal care have been more appropriate???

Hello everyone! How are you all? I really need to come here more often to see you lovely people (but nin fans - excluding yourselves - scare me)!

I'm considering going to america to see nin... I was going anyway (i think) so I'm thinking of timing it round the Las Vegas show.

I already have tickets to Sonisphere too but they're taking too long to announce that!!!

Anyone else being a nin!nerd and thinking these things?

Hi there Kirstie!!

Totally Random Things That Happen to B13 #275.83333

So the postie rings my door buzzer this morning and after I find and put on my dressing gown (don't wanna frighten the poor guy!!), I get handed a 1ft square box that has written on the front in big, black letters:

MEDIUM PANTS

eye popping smiley

I sure as hell don't remember ordering THAT!!

What I did order were a pair of these for my bike... Much more useful than a pair of medium pants. Those'd look silly attached to the pedals.

I'm hoping for Download as I already have tix for that - but I think it unlikely.
Probably Sonisphere - very strong rumours about that one.

Ruth, will call you later hun winking smiley

I'll be honest, I'm in a stinking bad mood! I got a call from the company I was supposed to start contract for on Monday, apparently they have changed their payment terms!!! This means that with a start date of Monday (9 MAR) I wouldn;t see a penny from them until 19 JUN - WTF!!!!! Needless to say, I phone them back an hour later and declined the contract sad smiley Would you fork out £1590 in train fares alone, before you saw a penny from someone *screams*

Anyway, gonna go and try to calm down now....

ps. Forgot to say, I don't know why but thought stig was a girl but used to think Version was a boy til she corrected us confused smiley

I heard Head like a hole at the Electric Ballroom, the 2nd time I heard it I asked someone what is was, hooked quite quickly!

Happy birthday Nov!

First NIN song for me was Closer. It didn't click at all and I ignored it, mainly cos I also didn't know who it was by. Then when Year Zero came out, I decided to try and make a proper effort to get into this band I'd heard so much positive stuff about...

By the Beginning of the End I was in love winking smiley

03/05/09 11:58 AM

Well, I attempted to go out for the first time since monday and discovered my balance is still shot to shit. I thought it wouldn't be too bad as i've been pottering around the house....BIG difference trying to walk outside ( I realised how often I was sitting down while indoors). Anyway, phoned the doc up half way back home and she said it can take up to TWO WEEKS to get my balance back to normal!! She's signed me off for a week, but i'm hoping to go back to work on monday but I'm not allowed to go up any ladders for obvious reasons grinning smiley

Funny thing was, the doc asked me if I was holding my nose and breathing out regularly (making my ears pop)....i told her 'I can't remember you telling me to do that'...she then replied, 'I did , but you were pretty out of it'...why didn't she tell me again after I'd come round from passing out???...oh well.

BTW...HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOV!!!

grinning smiley

03/05/09 12:09 PM

Fij: Hope you're well on the mend and the balance returns to normal soon smiling smiley

Nov: Thanks for the badgerguin - it rules. Rather slow replying ny me but I've been running around like a headless pickle this week :-/ HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, DANCE WITH THE BADGERS smiling smiley

Anon: Welcome, have some cake smiling smiley The first nin song I heard was terrible lie which is still one of my favourites. My top 3 currently would be "somewhat damaged" (the fragile), "Me, I'm Not" (Year Zero) and "...and all that could have been" (still).

Kirsty: Good to see you here, come by more often smiling smiley I'm out at Fridat Flock friday night if you're up for it? I'm thinking about America too but not sure I have the time and/or money :-/

Everyone else: general frippery and greetings to you all - I'll pay more attention to all you lovely consulites soon smiling smiley

Oh yes, and I'm sure Version can sympathise with Stig about gender uncertainty after the first time we all met her and I think only two of us realised she was a she smiling smiley

What great ways of putting it! thumbs up

I said earlier that the first NIN song that I heard was Something I Can Never Have, but what I neglected to mention (due to the shame) was the fact that I heard it at a Chippendales show!!!

In my defence I was on my friend's hen night honest! Anyway about half way through this well oiled hulk (dressed as a fireman) got his kit off and waved his hose around to the most awesome song that I had ever heard! Afterwards while my friend was getting her picture taken with said oily hulk, I asked what the song was and was told it was NIN.
So a few days later I hunted down Pretty Hate Machine... and the rest is history.

I've been hooked ever since and it's all thanks to the Chippendales!! grinning smiley

*Skulks off to hide in shame in the corner*

I've got an awful feeling that I'm gonna be in the US when they play in the UK, and in the UK when they play in the US. Gonna have to find some way around this problem. :/

Happy freakin' birthday NOV.ONENINE *somehow glomps without spilling tea*

Just reading early nin experiences, my first exposure was in the 90s, staying up late watching music videos. So Closer & Wish were my introduction. I didn't get into buying records or listening to albums till I was in highschool though, cause I had no means to acquire the music.

Gender ambiguity is pretty rampant with nin fans i've found (& I don't just mean online) nobody really cares though, cause you're all so bloody awesome!

@ Fij, hope you're feeling better soon. Keep away from ladders & Wii fit tongue sticking out smiley

Thanks everyone for the sweet BDay wishes!

a-m --> Seeing the Sheriff here in the Consulate was too cool! grinning smiley

anon --> I credit college radio for my initial NIN exposure. Down In It, followed closely by Head Like A Hole, which then became my anthem for years (still have a soft spot for that one)

Agree with the common consensus that Nine Inch Nails has retained their sound, while evolving at the same time...hence, nin is better than ever and always will be! the finger smiley

@ruth...*hugs*

@fijjit...poor doll. get better soon!

@Djred...yes, that story was shameful! winking smiley LOLZ
