Hope work goes OK Fij.

In the event that aren't any real NIN gigs in the UK shall we just arrange a meet around B13's NiN production. No idea how we'd actually see the production other than crowding around a screen somewhere. I know it's flawed due to the issues with the downloading so no date can be put forward. Other than that Toronto may be the only place people meet up smiling smiley

OK, I'm bored again. Thinking of things to talk about.

03/09/09 6:04 AM

So, no one's gonna be heading off to Sonisphere then?

I'm holding out for proper dates, purely on the basis that it makes sense for the band to do something else while they're over here, even just one show in each of the usual cities would be good *cough*Birmingham*cough*

It just seems frivolous to come over here for like, 2 festival dates. And as Sonia said, Trent's usually good to us.

I am on the verge of buying plane tickts for Toronto, though. Might be a better idea to wait for the presale and get the gig tickets first!

Sonia is someone in the know. She has a sneaky look about her, as well as being a great person I mean smiling smiley

I'm actually tempted to go but I don't know many of the US\Canadian NIN friends. Mind you, if I can survive Diskays Stella binges then I can survive and bunch of Bud Lite drinkers smiling smiley. I just have a fear I'd have to go the gig on my own.

If I'd kidnapped you and taken you all the way to Toronto, I wouldn't just abandon you and leave you to look after yourself during the gig!
*thought hugs*

The Canadian NIN fans I know aren't necessarily nearby Toronto, though that doesn't mean they won't travel, and I know a few from NE USA. Would be more likely just to stick with you though, if you were there!

Heh, Toronto gig is 6/2/2009 which confused me. Took me a couple of seconds to realise the problem smiling smiley

Classic one-liner from my colleague just now:

Colleague: "Do you fancy a ride, being roughed-up in the back of a van tomorrow?"

Me (quick as a flash): "Who with??"

I should explain that we're moving an entire edit suite tomorrow, by van, to another locality!!

festivals are always crap. it will either piss down so hard you'll be stuck in a foot of mud or it will be 100ยบ in the shade and everyone will get delerious from sunstroke. whatever, you won't be able to see/hear the bands properly (although that could be an advantage for linking park!) and i would guess the nin set will be shortened as they aren't headlining. you'll need a mortgage for food and drink and the loos will have 3 hour long queues, no bog paper and, whatever you do, never sit down on the seat! confused smiley

Before I really think about going to Toronto I suppose I should find out if, with a US visa, I can just casually wander into Canada. Does anyone know the answer to this?

03/09/09 7:46 AM

hi gang,

Janes Fanatic from the London area but also appreciate NIN.

Saw them 2 years ago at Reading and at glastonbury 9 years ago.

03/09/09 8:48 AM

I only seem to remember some mention of a new process to control the flow of people from Canada to US. I remember seeing it around the same time I read that the UK to US visa waiver form is now web based rather than being filled in on the plane. No help I guess smiling smiley

03/09/09 8:08 AM

Don't know if you'd need a full visa for Canada if you're only there for a few days.

Hi, dannyboy...
Damn, that's one long name!

Is anyone brewing up?

hello dannyboy

Well as I mentioned earlier - I won't be doing the festivals. I know it's the toilet situation that bothers me first and foremost. Was ok, when my ex husband was a radio dj - we used to get backstage which was oh, so much better. But out with the hoi polloi .... nah, I just can't see it any more. Besides, I also like my home comforts too much..

But if NIN were ever to do an open air version of one of their gigs, then that would be a different matter.

I'll pass on the tea, thanks. I rather fancy a berry smoothie - my latest poison of choice. smiling smiley

03/09/09 10:05 AM

I wasn't talking Rocky Horror specifically, no.
Anyway, I'm assuming you and paleenigma would much rather see women in women's underwear, and I would agree 100% with that.

Dammit. Now how am I supposed to concentrate? I knew this was not a topic of conversation I should have pursued!
