Hi, im from the North East but i will be moving to London in September for my uni course. Can any Londoners suggest any places to go music wise and such? I've only been twice before...

08/17/08 4:01 PM

Evening all. Thought I may as well put my first post in a thread for us British fans: glad to see there are a lot of us here! I'm from jolly old Wigan in the North-West -- awaits the pie-eating jokes -- Wigan's pies are pretty fantastic, I'll have you know.

08/17/08 4:06 PM

Im from North Yorkshire but i live in Newcastle which i like to think makes me better than the majority of people in the country.

Nothing like a brew and a biscuit int' the morning. I've been awake since 6.30am. It seems that my biological clock has been internally set due to getting up early every day for work. Today isn't a work day, thank the Lord, but once more I'm up watching 'The Hoobs'. How depressing. More depressing because on a Monday 'Everybody Loves Raymond' is scrapped in favour of 'Big Brother'. Bah.
For all you Big Brother fans out there, I know Luke! I sat next to him in several classes at college, and I also occasionally catch the train with him to Salford Uni. I dislike Big Brother, but I do like Luke in reality. He's a funny fellow who always, without fail, has a story to tell. I hear he's out of that house now. Good on him for giving it a go. I know I couldn't stand to be locked in a room with a bunch of strangers for weeks on end.
I truely don't know what to do with my day off work. The rain seems to ambush me every time. All I want to do is go for a walk through the field with a brew and a book damnit! Never bloody happens due to shitty English weather!

Trust me to get here on page bloody FOUR!!!

Hey there B13! You've missed mainly introductions and talk of Big Brother. Not too much to worry about! Go and have a quick skim read to find out who's here.

(*wonders whether this shade of blue is preferable to the other*)

I'd say so. I don't need to strain my eyes as much to read your posts =P a little less blue is the best blue. Dark blue ftw, my friend.

Jeremy Kyle is truely awful this morning. I don't know how Jeremy puts up with listening to scum argue every morning. Saying that, I need to listen to it too. Bah.

I was kept awake most of Saturday & Sunday night by fights outside on the high road, drunken idiots, an entire bus full of people ended up on the road itself screaming and shouting...I've never seen so many police!! It just pisses me off living here sometimes.

And ah Old Street, I haven't been there in so long. grinning smiley

I've had a pretty good experience living in South London, I must just be lucky I guess. Moving closer to the river next month. Area doesn't look shabby, but if it gets bad I guess I can just run away over the bridge!

08/18/08 6:55 AM

^ Most of the time it's good, but we live right on Streatham high road, which as you can imagine means constant noise! The area itself is actually pretty decent and I've no complaints about it, it's just my god, the weekends...there are two clubs just up the road from us so it sometimes gets ridiculous at 2am on a Saturday. Once we move to somewhere in a quieter street these problems will cease to exist! cool smiley
