just had a very interesting telephone interview for IT Services Manager... am a little surprised I managed to get this far in the selection process, but now I have to wait another few weeks to see if I made it to the next stage - wish me luck everyone!
nearly fell off me chair in shock yesterday - I got an email (on a Sunday!!) from the company; apparently they were happy with my phone interview, so now I've been selected to attend a full day of face-to-face interviews, psychometric tests, & a whole host of other delights!!! smoking smiley

the only drawback is it'll be a long drive, cos the interviews are being held in cheltenham!!! (from East London, that'll be one helluva drive...)

I've had problems with this thread today too. Is it terrorism? :O

09/16/08 5:50 AM

A few times, I've tried to get in and have been met by a lovely blank white page...

So I've gone somewhere else and then come back.

Yeah.... some peeps have mentioned it in one of the threads so ......

Sorry to have missed yr birthday donna.... i'm crap i know.

Was a little 'anxious' coming in here today. I had a vague memory of posting whilst drunk and dreaded to think what I might've said. Am mighty relieved to know it was nothing bad and actually quite cohesive.

Mobiles and laptops should be banned when drunk!!!!

Update on Tantrum - surgery was a little more complex than anticipated. Currently staying with parents (to avoid stairs), painkillers are knocking her out and to boot, she's aching from the crutches. Overall mood??? Not very happy.

09/16/08 9:18 AM

poor Tantrum!

i have been on crutches several unlucky occasions...never could get the hang of it!confused smiley

09/16/08 11:58 AM

ruth, please pass on our love to tants, i know how surgery can be, especially when it lasts a bit (read: a lot!) longer than planned!!!
I'm sure everyone wishes her well in her recovery!!!

& a nice cuppa tea/coffee would sound great!!! I'm supposed to finish the interviews around 4pm on 24th (next wednesday!!!) & will probably be a gibbering wreck by the end of it all!!! definitely not relishing the drive home afterwards...
how long does it take to get to/from cardiff from cheltenham? & then back to London?eye rolling smiley

09/16/08 12:21 PM

EveNIN' all. *sends good thoughts Tnatrum's way*
Shall I make her a cuppa and cookies? grinning smiley

I've passed along the well wishes to our current invalid. To be honest, i've 'enjoyed' the 3 operations on my wrist; well not the operations themselves lol, but the convalescing. Hey, time off work is always a good thing..... smiling smiley

Azonei - i see that yr driving. According to google tis 2-2.5 hrs from cheltenham to London. From cardiff to london is typically 3 hrs but guess it depends if you like to put yr foot down (same as from cheltenham). Cheltenham to Cardiff about 1.5 hrs.

All things considered being that you've got to get to London and I'm off work; it prob makes sense for me to come to Cheltenham.
Could drive, but there is the distinct possibility I'd get lost or i could get the train. Alternatively I've looked at motorway services info. Would be enroute to m4 for you and all i've got to do is drive up to the next exit and head backwards......

ok, plans for tonight is decide how to spend a lot of money that i haven't got on some artists prints that are limited edition (only 10) and signed. I've wanted to indulge for some time now .... however i've decided that one would look kinda lonely on my wall; so i'm considering 3 of them (8 different ones avail). So the question is do I buy on the basis of a pic of the print or wait a week and a half before driving to the gallery in the lake district and risk not getting the ones i want??? Decisions, decisions huh!!!

EDIT - yes wraith, be a dear and do that. I'm also charging you with the delivery of... but remember, she won't be happy if the tea goes cold smiling smiley

Hi....I resided in Derby with my grandparents as a child,

My grandparents received a letter from the Queen, as they were married for 60 years...
