I'm thinking about selling my Epiphone LP and buying a cheap Fender Jazzmaster from Mexico... It's beatiful, it sounds badass! Mustang is also great, but they're kinda expensive and it looks better as a bass.

02/09/09 5:40 PM

I wants this, only cuz it's badass!

Easy.

Gibson Futura Explorer in Satin black (Epiphone goth series guitars)
24 fret, no inlays except something custom on the 12th and 24th
Floyd Rose Tremolo bridge in all black with a shiny chrome whammy bar
Chrome plated EMG 81/85 in the bridge/neck
2 tone knobs
2 volume knobs
1 momentary kill switch like Buckethead's
Brushed stainless steel pickguard and trussrod cover
heel of the guitar carved away like the new Epiphone apparition
Schaller straplocks

That is just pure sex.

It's either that or the black/pink Alexi Laiho signature lol.

or both. >_>

I have been jonesing for 68 reissue Flying V too....

Gibson Les Paul BFG

I've been drooling over the Schecter Damien 6 guitar for quite some time now, so that would probably be my hoochie next time I buy such.
They had quite nice custom guitars on their site before, especially 2, one with a House of 1000 Corpses theme, and one with Day of the Dead theme, those would totally make my world spin!

Right now I'm planing a little custom work myself, I have a Les Paul ripoff that I have stripped down and will make myself a groovy Evil Dead themed guitar! Hopefully It'll work when I'm finished, pondering on hooking it up with some new better pickups and maybe a new neck to make it ultra groovy! grinning smiley

I have my dream guitar too, very lucky to track down 5 mint conditons of Gretsch Anniversaries. From a 1958 Single Two Tone Green, to a 1962 Double in Bamboo Yellow and copper mist. Took me 10 years to trak one down and it was bashed up bad, traded in and the rest is history.

Got them already,

1970 Gibson ES-330 in cherry
Epiphone Casino in cherry
Gibson Thunderbird IV in vintage sunburst
Epiphone Crestwood in royal blue (the original wilshire)
Fender Jazzmaster in olympic white
and my pride and joy
1964 Fender Jaguar in ebony

As a side note to anyone thinking of buying an Epiphone Wilshire, do it. Make sure you get one with a good neck and let the modding begin. I have had a few, and heavily modded they just annoyed people really but damn it was fun. Plus they are easy to replace as they are so cheap, well for me anyway (yes I might work where you think I might work).

04/21/09 6:44 PM

I like Gibson. Sometimes Yamaha and Schecter too.
I used to have a pink Daisy Rock, but I sold it.

04/22/09 6:57 AM

1965 reverse firebird

04/26/09 6:44 PM

I lied.

Fender 72' Custom modded /w added Fuzz Factory!

I'm happy with the guitars I currently own (though I always dream of a pickup swap), but I've always loved this:

http://www.thetrendybagshop.com/images/products/Gibson-Firebird-VII.jpg

Too bad they don't make it left-handed.

As for acoustic, I'd be happy with almost any Martin or Guild.

04/27/09 11:05 AM

I want this Martin D28...I played one in Guitar Center yesterday but I didn't have the 2 grand to fork over to pay for it. spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

I've pretty much got my dream guitars (Two Gibson Les Pauls), but I would love to have Gibson recreate Steve Clark's *From Def Leppard* custom Les Paul.

that fucking sucks!!! Sorry to hear that

my recent obssession is a Schecter C-8 Hellraiser. I am a sucker for low-tone and find this to be a pretty sweet axe, even compared to The ESP LTD Deftones model or the Ibanez Prestige. I usually play Ibanez, but am willing to branch out for this baby!! Plus, i love Meshuggah!!!!

maybe even a mustang/jagstang/or jazzmaster

I LOVE my JagStang! It is so well balanced, been rewired atleast 4 times over the 11 years I've had it. It's a bit beaten up, needs new machine heads, but I could never part with it. Right now it has a Fender Texas Special single (neck) and a DiMarzio H3 (Bridge, it was damn near impossible to get that too, only been looking for 5 years before I got one). My dream guitar would be a JagStang with 3 humbucker pickups. I haven't decided which ones exactly. I was also check out the stacked humbuckers and looking at having 4 (5 maybe, but the power drain would be horrible). I'll probably pick up a body from warmoth, along with a Mustang neck from somewhere and actually building this. No phasing switches, just on/off for each pickup and possibly a volume pot on each pickup instead of any tone knobs. I wanted an Ace Frehley Les Paul because of the pickup arrangement, but I didn't want all the KISS stuff all over it. Kind of a stupid reason, but I'm also the "moron" that swears by solid state amps too.

EDIT: adding a pic. For the Jaguar fans, it's a remake from the American Heritage series, nothing super special.

Thank you GoodVillain!
The majority of people will only look at this guitar because it's a Moog [and NIN used it I think]
It's fucking bullshit!

Trent Reznor and Lou Reed were both name checked on the Moog site as 2 of the first owners of the Moog guitar. Not sure if Trent has used it on any recordings yet. I think Vernon Reid of Living Colour may have been in the initial demo video as well.

Yes infinite sustain has been produced before. Fernandes sustainer pickups, the Edge's infinite delay system is capable of it too I believe. The technology used to achieve it is completely different tho and none of those can reverse the charge to mute the strings to turn the entire instrument staccato. The CV inputs allowing you to play your guitar by using a theremin [www.youtube.com] is a pretty hilarious trick.

Sure it's all kinda gimmicky, but the guitar is an interesting piece of technology. No one is going to buy it for a touring workhorse guitar. It's to be babied and used in the studio only really. Unless you want to risk a $6K guitar on the road. If nothing else it lets you step outside of the normal box you might be in and approach things from a different angle. Brian Eno uses a deck of special cards for that, but hey, whatever works smiling smiley

After playing an actual Hagstrom III and II, I can see why Aaron loves them.
