As for the audio release, it is ok. The second CD, the one titled "the gift" it is very good. The first one, titled "Las Vegas" has horrible quality, and I really dont see the point of it, other than having Trent's speech on it.

Man... how many bootlegs have you listen in your live??

"Man" , if you allready have a cd that has the live audio crystal clear, why should there be a second CD with more crappy sound ? This is what I'm asking, and it has nothing to do with how many bootlegs I have listened to. Chill off "man"
Anyway, from TOIOU I expect the best edits, since they are a group and not just some individual working alone. Plus all the publicity that went into this.

Then... why you think there are millions of groups with million of bootlegs that millions of people collect??

First... Different show, different setlist
Second... They tell is going to use it as the audio for the vegas dvd, i dont know where is the problem for release in audio version for people who like it, or people who were in vegas show and want to have it
Third... There are many people like prefer bootlegs, the inmersion in the show is different, the public, the sound comming as a real show and not from a soundboad....

I think is not neccesary to continue with this discussion here, but people can tell you other 500 pros of the bootlegs and why people collect it

Ok, it was just my opinion. And I stick to it grinning smiley If your opinion is that bad sound immerses you better in the atmosphere, I'll have to respect it... I just said what I tought. The cd for me is the one with the more clear sound.
Cheers

I think they both have good quality...but the Gift is SO GREAT that the Vegas show seems crappy, but it's not..in my opinion

03/05/09 2:58 PM

The Vegas show is obviously going to be of a different quality than The Gift. Vegas was recorded by fans from the audience and mastered. The Gift was NIN soundboard quality matrixed and mastered. It was the best that we could do (and I'm sure anyone could do) with both sources. You either like good bootleg quality sound, or you don't. Opinions vary.

i think maybe some people need to remember one thing; these downloads were made available to the public at the expense of a lot of peoples time and effort and energy FOR FREE.
i for one am grateful for the opportunity to be able to get access to these audio files and enjoy them and form my own opinion.(which is that they are great!)
keep up the good work, i look forward to the dvd!

apologies for the preaching; my son is 12 next week and i've just realised i've turned into my Dad! aaaarrrgghh!

There is way too much bass, but the audio is still fantastic.

The audio is great, thanks so much!!

Looking forward to the DVD....thumbs up

I think Vegas is the best bootleg I own... Then again I own like 3 ha. But wow both The Gift and Vegas are amazing. I haven't listened to anything else since they were released a week ago =)

And I'm pretty sure this DVD will be one of the best concert DVDs I own. And of those I own many!

I don't expect people that didn't attend the show / attend LITS to appreciate TOIOU.

The audio/video experience that TOIOU captures puts the show in a much more personal perspective no commercially released live concert will. I can't wait xD

Jeez...

I really wonder what that still image on thisoneisonus.org could be...

Hmmm ?

Hey all, I figure it's about time I posted a little update on the DVD menu's for the TOIOU project.

I don't wanna give too much away so here some photos I took while working on some of the stuff the other night. It's still in the conceptual phase and doesn't look overly impressive as a still photo compared to how it flows when it actually plays, but you get the main idea.

If anyone has any more drone music they think would be suitable, post it on up.

I think what's been done so far has been great. Everyone had/has the opportunity to participate in any way that they could. And some of us, could only cheer the others on. I'm in the process of downloading the torrent and I know that I couldn't have done this on my own, therefore, I'm appreciative. No complaints from my end. I love the music and love the tour. Thank you to you all.

SITE UPDATE - Ash has been busy.

Not only has he finished his edit, he's had time to get all the Australian videos from NIN.com and wrapped them up in a nice little stand alone (side project) DVD with a couple of bonuses.

And he's also taken the time to talk about the editing process.

Enjoy ;-)

Digg it
