Worked first time using DVD Shrink @ 72.4% of original quality. Have watched some of the file direct on TV via computer, as well as (obviously) the DVD, and now unsure about the dual layer aspect - for people who've done both versions - is the DL burnt version like night and day, or just better, but not amazingly better?
Anyway, just want to add my sincere thanks to EVERYONE involved. We're all proud of you! Soooo exceeded my expectations! TBH, if this was an official release - wouldn't be complaining at all. PLus it was great to see my name in the pdf - now officially part of NIN history!!
It's better, but not AMAZINGLY BETTER. DVDshrink does a really good job at maintaining the quality. You should see the actual DVD compressed from the source....definitely a noticeable difference between THAT and the DL!
Have now done the DL (my first - took 80 minutes) and it is definitely better quality, but as you say, not amazingly better. For all of you who are going to be sticking with SLDVD, don't be too disappointed, it is more than adequate!!
Many thanks to nmelville for the file replacement tip when using nero, wouldn't have had a clue otherwise! In NIN-heaven right now, this is superb. Can't wait for the bonus footage! The Big Comedown is gonna rock!
