Just saw the whole thing. AMAZING Job. It really looks professional... Good job with the zoom that you added to the original source!

Took a gander at the low-quality version skeptical, but this is a legitimately GREAT job in my opinion. Well done! Bonus points for being so quick too and uploading it to your own site.

02/08/09 7:28 AM

Watched the first part last night...awesome job. Can't wait for the HQ version!

02/11/09 9:30 AM

just wanted to say thanks for the great work

02/22/09 9:37 AM

OMG fantastic job !!! i found your edit better than mine, and of course Colin Cooper and his love for vibrating cams.
really great, amazing, the best edit i ever saw for now.

02/22/09 11:13 PM

Downloaded your edition about few days ago.
It is excellent. I really enjoyed watching it at 42'' plasma.
Waiting for a HQ version, it needs more bitrate.
BTW, I compared your edit with some another edits. Yours so dynamic - really, really cool.

anyone know of freeware that will burn .avi to dvd? i usually use Nero, but i don't think that will work for .avi

in fact, my nero won't even play .avi video, neither will winamp, wmp, powerDVD, or much else! why the hell would anyone use .avi?

just curious...

EXISTING VERSIONS

23,000 complete downloads, about 140 TB served.

HQ VERSION

I hope to try to create the HQ 720p version this weekend or maybe next weekend (but no promises). I'm in the process of reconverting the original files, and I purchased a copy of Sony Vegas since my trial was expiring.

This version will have no editing changes; just uncompressed audio and a higher video bitrate. It will still be split into three parts, and it will only be available as a torrent.

DVD VERSION

I have no plans to make a DVD version, as I don't want to go down the nightmare of DVD authoring. But I think a lot of people would appreciate one.

So if anybody else is up to trying, I'll be happy to post a torrent link or even host the ISO on my site and make it the "official" DVD for my edit. I believe you should be able to use the medium-quality 720p release and convert it to DVD size for DVD-quality results (I'm not sure if the low-quality one is quite high-quality enough). Another fan was already working on some DVD liner art -- I'm not sure of the status, but if someone wants to start a DVD project I'll email him and find out.

TANGENT: VICTORIA & SACRAMENTO

(I kind of don't want to go here because I don't want to sound like I'm tooting my own horn, but I feel like I should just in case. So my apologies...)

I should be getting my hands on the Victora & Sacramento footage soon. However, I do not have any interest in making multi-show videos (I like a "realistic" style that tries to stay as true as possible to "this is what happened" ) .

At this time I do not have any plans to make Victoria-only or Sacramento-only edits either, since I assume other editors have sufficiently covered those shows. If there was some kind of widespread critical consensus that people liked my edits more I would reconsider that, but I honestly can't imagine that's true. (Positive comments on my edit are always appreciated, but I know pretty much all the edits are getting positive comments.) However, if, inexplicably, there actually is such a critical consensus, somebody should definitely tell me.

True, lots of ppl are positive only but not me, you are the only one so far I found fantastic. right now we dont have Victoria as Parker is SD only, and Colin Cooper is ... just not good, i mean he loves vibrating cams, good for him... he refuse to show trent ending Head down on keyboard... good for him.

Just a question why Xvid when everybody is H264 ? i know some material that still can't play Divx / Xvid on HD but play HD H264 fine.
Would it be great to offer HQ in H264 ? so we dont need to care about DVD version and create our own bluray.

This is the best edit I have ever seen until now. It would be great if you could make a dvd with menu and stuff, but even if you dont, you are still the best, because the actual footage is what counts, and not a crappy dvd with a very nice menu.
Thank you very much for this! May I suggest again that there should be made a sticky thread for finished work? And nothing else like feedback and stuff, only the work, so it would be easy to find, because nowdays many edits are starting to pop-up.

Hey,
Why can't i download these edits? Get a error page when i click on the links.

Thanks for support.

I will torrent this as soon as it finishes downloading if you do not mind. Some people just prefer torrents and I am sure your host would feel better about it. Can't wait to watch.

02/25/09 12:48 AM

For some reason I can't play these(only tried the larger ones). I have the xvid codec installed. Is an AVI splitter needed? I tried with Haali Media splitter but no dice.

I'm using Media Player Classic. Any ideas?

02/25/09 6:44 AM

I have to redownload these because my computer restarted when I was sleeping. Torrents would of prevented this. winking smiley

There is large chances Xvid720 is requiring recent Xvid codec. 1st reflex when that's happening is trying VLC, the only player without any codec.

please, this is non sense, i never heard of anyone prefering torrent to DDL, there is no reason at all, and of course numberous tool exists to prevent download stop.
By making a torrent of this you will ruin the excellent speed and service nothings offering us. (unless you use that DDL source special option some torrent can use, and if you don't, that would be really an error)
