My Victoria edit...torrent discussion, etc.

So, I'm nearing the point where I feel comfortable releasing this. More than likely about a week or so away. What formats do people desire? I was thinking an SD-Widescreen DL disc to start, then Blu-Ray.

If anyone is interested in helping me seed the SD-Widescreen DL torrent, please send me a PM. I'd be more than willing to burn copies for those that are willing to send blanks/postage, to get the torrent moving faster once posted.

Comments, suggestions, etc. are welcome.

Torrent will be up tomorrow. Single layer SD DVD Widescreen. Quality wise, the export from Premiere came out pretty nice. 720x480 16:9, 2 pass VBR, 3.04MB min, 4.01MB target, 8MB max for the bitrate, menu'd, etc. Sizewize, it's a standard 4.37GB ISO.

Thanks for releasing it, my friend! Will grab it as soon as i can!

BTW, in your mininova readme you have written, that the DVD video is progressive. What framerate are you using? 23.976 or 29.97? Deinterlaced?

Thank you!

03/08/09 3:25 PM

29.97fps drop-frame, de-interlaced.

03/08/09 3:28 PM

Do you mean 3:2 pulldown?

03/08/09 3:37 PM

Here's a screenshot of the mpeg2 export options I used, for clarification.

Is it encoded in anamorphic widescreen? Oh, and thank you for your time & effort. (edit) Sorry! I didn't scroll over and see the entire picture.

It is 16:9 (as shown above), but I saw no option for anamorphic when exporting to mpeg2-dvd.

What I actually did was crop the original and have it scaled to fit a 720x480 res. Without cropping, black bars were present.

I've just watched it. Holy crap, man. WOW. Menus and all! I really love it. Thanks! I always love a direct ISO file, so much easier than mulling through all the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS files. Thanks for that as well!

I'm curious, did the menus appear in aspect ratio on your display? They were a bit cutoff on my 37" CRT HDTV, but that's not a pixel perfect display by any means and comes with quite a bit of overscan.

It appeared PERFECT on my standard television, but that's just because DVDs were made for SDTV, I have yet to play it on my 55" HDTV, but I'll tell you what that looks like later today. The text on the menus was a tad bit small, but totally readable.
Thanks again!

So 30 or so people have pulled this down already. Is it acceptable? Sucky? What's the verdict? Don't be gentle, I can take it. tongue sticking out smiley

Unrar it. Then you should be able to burn the ISO with whatever you want.

i downloaded it the other day, but didn't have blank dvd's, so i haven't been able to watch it until today.

GREAT JOB. Much appreciated. thumbs up

my only criticism is that on the menu the date is wrong. the victoria show was december 5th, not 6th.

It says 12/05, I just used a blurry font, and the 0 almost makes the 5 look like a 6...lol

Glad you've enjoyed it smiling smiley

03/13/09 8:35 PM

haha. so it does.
on my tv i could have sworn it was a 6, but then i watched it on my computer and yes, it's a 5.

are you going to do anymore beyond The Big Come Down?

03/13/09 9:50 PM

Wait...what?

The whole show should definitely be on there. Unless I hallucinated making it correctly? Which is certainly possible. Depending on the day..lol. But there should be a third menu on the disc.

03/14/09 2:49 AM

It's all there. Just checked the ISO again, to confirm my sanity...lol

The Next button kind of hides on the 2nd menu.

holy shit. i knew i was overtired and stressed out, but WOW. eye popping smiley

so now that i've actually seen the whole thing...awesome job! thanks for your hard work.
a very nice momento of the best show i've ever been to indeed. bravo.

03/14/09 10:55 AM

Well... i downloaded it too.

The best thing of the dvd is the encoding you use.

And then... the authoring of the dvd was poor, bad dvd menu, no motion, no sound, strange font that looks a bit pixeled... The edit was a bit "static" in some songs...

But, anyway, its a nice try.

P.S. I thing people must use the 3 shows for get nice edit results

Did the download complete? The only way that will occur is if the torrent hasn't completed downloading. Usually anyhow. My apologies if the suggestion sounds condescending...it's isn't meant to be.
