keep checking [www.twitter.com] as I will be updating through here regularly now that the actual editing process has started, and I suggest cheese to update everynow and then instead of doing your own little thing in the distance, lol.

08/09/09 8:28 AM

@Cheeseprocedure: What are you doing with Diablo75's footage, are you resizing it?

also, at the end of all the editing, once I recieve cheese's edits, and have decided what will be making the final cut, I will decide then if there will be an excrutiating long adventure of colour correcting.

Terrific audio & editing.

Looks good, but my suggestion would be to vary the length between edit points a bit more. A lot of the cuts came every 4 beats (not all, but most), but a little more variation I think could improve an already nice looking edit.

Was kind of thinking the same. Its definately a very good edit goldy, and Im glad youre working on it. I do think some longer shots would be nice though. The constant rapidfire of different shots was a bit distracting. But please dont take that as unappreciative criticism.

haha no worries, its not the final edite of MOTP, as I will be changing all of the songs quite a biit as I progress. I just uploaded so people dont think the project is dead AND for some constructive criticism, and for the record, not every song is like this one, I tend to do alot more shots in the faster songs and it flows pretty well from one song to another.

Thanks, Matt G

OK, really late in the game here (don't yell at me!), but I have some third row footage (parts of 9 songs). I'd be happy to upload them to a server and provide the link to anyone who PM's me.

Video Editing Team:

First, thank you for all your hard work. Trust me, I know the logistics of this project are a labor of love and all of you (both filmers and editors) have donated significant personal time and/or money. As one of the 'audio guys' who contributed, I have a favor to ask. Would you be willing to let us know of updates at "taperssection.com > team boards > team kansasouri"? I'll go ahead and sign a couple of us for seeding the final project in whole, given a DVD (SASE, no problem). Otherwise, we enjoy youtube updates with descriptions of the audio lineage and details of how it was mastered.

Thanks!,
mblindsey (Michael)

I honestly have to say, that was a hell of a lot better than I thought it was going to be! That was pretty sick. Props to anyone who did the filming. And man, that audio was perfect. I can't wait to see the rest of the project!

08/14/09 8:22 PM

I just wanted to add-- dont feel obligated to use every source of video for this project, or that you have to include tons of angles or anything. Just use the best shots for the appropriate songs to make as kick ass of a video as you can. I sent in some of the backstage stuff, but honestly I could care less if any of my stuff gets used at all-- I just want a kick ass dvd that I can throw in to enjoy the show from time to time ; )

And I want to thank ahead of time everyone thats pooring in the countless hours editing this things and putting it together, thank you to everyone that submitted and shared your footage, and thank you to the guys who snagged the awesome audio recordings!

08/15/09 4:39 AM

I see my footage is going to good use.

08/26/09 11:23 AM

A little something I whipped up to put at the end of preview vids:

I'll probably upload the video itself unless someone things I should try to make certain adjustments to it.

I honestly don't have much info-I'm a bit worried now because I haven't heard anything from Goldy or Cheese for awhile-maybe they're just intensely busy ATM. If I had chosen to actually edit things myself I think I would have tried to update a bit more than people have been doing. Goldy actually seemed to be doing pretty well with the ninjakcdvd Twitter account until just recently, though...

Anyway, I'll say more when I KNOW more.

Edit: I put together a new poster image. Note that even the "larger" version you can view by picking on the preview version displayed below is only 1/8 of the full sized one I made:

hey guys finally i got to a computer, mine is fuked atm and will not be able to use for about 2 weeks sorry for the interruption and delays between updates. ill keep you posted

Hey
I was wondering when this project should be complete? I check here often to see whats up, but theres very little being said about this. I realize this isn't being created for money, but instead it's just a project for yourself, NIN, and random fans like me who aren't contributing anything to the project... but still want this dvd as soon as possible... with that said. Any idea when?

Is this being color corrected and everything?

I guess thats my main question, are you guys going for perfection or raw experience from multiple angles, unedited that will be released fairly soon?

I'm happy either way, just checking

I like the poster for the most part and the colors and everything but I have one problem.
I could never see Trent releasing something that said "hit" songs. That portion just doesn't seem right to me. It also seems to crowd the poster up a bit. So I would say remove it IMO

The main reason I did it like that was because it was suggested that I include the set list on the poster-however I felt that it would take up to much room to include the whole thing so I divided it between the "popular" songs/"singles" and the "rarities". I suppose I could call them "fan favorites" instead of "hits", and perhaps condense the list even further by dropping a couple of the songs. This intended for a promotion of the DVD's eventual release as well as a potential "premiere event" that may occur (with free admission of course). People who may not have actually go to the show may be interested to know which songs were played at it. For the "event" though I admit I may still have to change a few things to add in the event details.

As far as color correction as far as I know we're not going to be doing too much in terms of that,, at least nor unless parts of the footage REALLY need some kind of adjustment to make it look halfway descent. We're NOT trying to make another...errr...Another Version of the Truth-here. lol

I like the sound of fan favorities better but it still doesn't sound right x.x
But if you use that wording, or for any wording, I say you need to leave on Hurt, Hand That Feeds and Wish.
But whatever you do, do not write "Featuring Grammy winning song Wish" That is just unmetal =P
I feel like an ass saying all this. I am being really picky, and I didn't even go to this show! >.>

How about featuring the song that Trent Reznor wants to include on his epitaph mentioning that he "Said 'first fuck' and won an Grammy"? Nah, since my current plans involve potentially premiering this at a community college auditorium I don't think they'd let me put up posters with "Fist Fuck" written on them. That's just one thing I remember reading I think in the Wikipedia entry for the song. lol

Note the edit to my last posts regarding color correction and such things. I should mention I actually have little idea what CheeseProcedure is actually intending to do with everything so for all I know he's actually doing more with the footage than I'm aware of.

Any updates on the various computer troubles? I just tweeted about it on our Twitter account to let people know what's going on with that-although I'd like another update since it's been awhile since posts were made about the computer issues.

09/10/09 4:17 AM

yeah slowly fucking getting there, my dad wont let me setup the new hard drive, he thinks i am gunna fuck it up coz windows has to be reloaded, seriously isnt that fucking hard but yeah just waiting for his slow ass. I am thinking of just editing the NIN stuff only and using cheese's edits of JA and SSSC to speed things up

09/12/09 9:38 AM

My edit of "The Way Out is Through" played in Kansas City SD: [bit.ly] HD: [bit.ly] . I did it purely for fun and out of boredom. I did it from YouTube links rather than the source footage since I obviously don't have the source footage. I'd still like to maybe have it, but I'd rather not be feeling a sense of "obligation" to do anything because the footage was sent to me, because I'm not sure if I'd actually get anything done that way. lol
This is also not set to be officially part of the DVD unless it's like an extra feature or something. I just figured I'd do it as a kind of promotional thing showing what can be done with just the footage available on YouTube - and just imagine what could be done with all the footage available to us.
Oh yeah, and I might send Cheese and Goldy the cut I made of just my footage for "The Way Out is Through" in Windows Movie Maker. I had to separate it out from like two other songs or so that I'd recorded in the same take.
Oh yeah, and I mentioned this on Twitter also but sorry for the noticeable seams-I'll definitely fix that if this gets included on the DVD and/or if I go back and make some other tweaks to the edit based upon feedback I get.

For separating out my footage of the song-yes...

For editing the video itself-I used Adobe Premiere CS4.

I used Windows Movie Maker to isolate my "TWOIT" footage just because it's fairly easy to use and it exports to a format that takes up much less space (.wmv), whereas Premiere would export to an up-converted format probably.
