let's discuss Grand Prix again?
so, yesterday it rained at 1st practice in Istanbul and dried at 2nd practice.
it wasn't very evident about relative strengths on wet track but Alonso proved his skill by being the fastest. Ferrari already had 3 wins there, all by Felipe Massa, who's in good shape so far. World champion Sebastian Vettel crashed his car and had no chance to practice again even during dry session 3 hours later, but his team mate Mark Webber looked very good on his long runs. Top four was dominated by Mercedes engines - Button, Rosberg, Hamilton, Schumacher all raced close despite having a lot of shaky moments on climbs and falls of Turkish circuit. Other competitors for top ten appear to be the drivers of remaining Ferrari engines - Toro Rosso and Sauber teams, that is. Yet neither of them seems to pose real threat on Renault team, where both Petrov and Heidfeld feel comfortable and aren't going to make it easy for Ferrari and Mercedes.
3rd practice will be quite interesting, begins in 30 minutes...
...and about 3rd practice. almost everything went predictable, except for Sebastian's little victory over Michael with time difference of just 0.001 sec + some outstanding lap by Buemi (Toro Rosso) who took the lead in latter half of session just before most cars changed hard tyres to soft. Alonso had gearbox problems in final minutes - stuck at 6th and couldn't improve his time.
Qualification 1st part saw HRT, Lotus and Marussia Virgin teams knocked out along with Kamui Kobayashi (Sauber) who suffered gearbox problem similar to Alonso's Ferrari earlier.
2nd part knocked out both Toro Rosso's (Buemi and Alguersuari), both Williams (Barricello and Maldonado), both Force India's (Sutil and Di Resta) and other Sauber (Sergio Perez).
3rd part - Massa did not set any time (apparently no good tyres left) and will start 10th, behind Schumacher (who's between both Renault's) and Alonso (who's between both McLaren's). Pole position once again taken by Vettel, but Webber and Rosberg will put a great deal of pressure on him tomorrow.
