I don't think that they need to get a Blu-Ray Pressed. They are just going to make a Torrent File and then we are going to press our own, right? Just like with the DVD release. They aren't pressing any disks themselves are they? It is up to the fans to download and press as far as I can tell. Also, what is the difference in rights on Blu-Ray and DVD? It is the same material, just in a different format. Am I missing something?

Here's why I prefer pressing new BDs over burning BD-Rs:
1. BDs will play in all players, BD-Rs will not
2. Not everyone has 25GB free on their hard drive
3. Not everyone has a BD-R burner for their computer

I realize there are such things as external hard drives and external BD-R burners, but they don't solve #1 and they can be prone to ejection and SSSSSLLLLLLOOOOOOWWWWWNNNNNEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS....

As for me personally, I wish I could burn a BD-R, but my hard drive doesn't have 25GB of space (but plenty on the external hard drives) and I have no blu-ray burner. So that's my story

I liked all of your points and I understand that a commercial pressing would be the ideal situation, but if it isn't possible and you don't have the requirements to burn the Disc yourself then that is what this thread is for! Just ask one of us who does have the capability and then you will have the Disc and you won't even have to buy a new Hard Drive! I would also love to be able to get a perfect store bought copy with all the glossy printed pages and artwork, but since the band isn't doing this themselves I don't think that is going to happen at all.

I would appreciate anybody that would take the time and effort to burn a blu-ray of The Gift for me.

01/18/10 2:25 AM

I would also greatly appreciate a physical copy of the Gift on blu ray. Would be happy to pay for the disc and shipping, or could pick it up personally if you happen to be in the Philadelphia area.

I need 6/SIX bluray AVOTT discs!
It will be a close one for you, cause the Blu Ray comes out at the end of this month. And you hold your screening event the 31st?
Better postpone it, or do it with Dual Layed dvd, i think.

Sorry for the n00b question, but how do you know this? Are you in any way associated with TOIOU? (I hope so and hope that you're right!)
The producer said at ETS that when everything runs well, it will be finished in a few weeks. But probably the upload, set up for download, download itself will take another week. And they try to fix the colouring defaults for the Blu Ray also.

Ah! Thanks for the info! Now I'm even more excited for it!

- Well. If we dont got any AVOTT in our hands the 30rd. as it is.
We'll get drunk instead and watch it on a ps3. and then I make sure of people getting the gift.! I'll promish that !

I would love to get a copy.

Just so you know, I do have two external hard drives (three if you count my Time Machine external hard drive, one of them is for my Macintosh OS X partition and the other for my Windows XP partition). However, I have no BD-R burner nor a desire to buy one. Also, the only BD-R burning software on OS X are Toast 10 and Compressor in the latest Final Cut Studio suite.

So that settles it: I'm here to ask somebody to burn me a BD-R of AVOTT:The Gift, and I will pay for both the recordable Blu-Ray disc and the shipping & handling. It seems like we can't get it pressed without actually owning it, and I'm out of luck in burning a BD-R myself, so as a result, I'll ask one of you guys to do it for me.

01/18/10 6:09 PM

No longer need this as I have placed an order.

Thanks!

As soon as it is released PM me and I will give you an address to send your materials.

I would greatly appreciate a copy, I was wondering how to get a hold of one just the other day!

01/22/10 6:14 PM

I would definitely love a blu-ray copy.

01/22/10 6:36 PM

I would like a copy. I can provide a blank disc for myself and an extra.

01/22/10 11:47 PM

I'd like a copy but can also make one myself, I have the Sony Vegas software but the torrents I've downloaded from the movie files just weren't compatible with it. I saw the blu ray torrent link but that still hasn't opened up and I just decided to wait til that one was open so I could hopefully painlessly burn my own blu ray. I'm sure I could find a way to do it with the already available formats but I figured I'd save myself that frustration during a odd time for me.

01/23/10 4:12 AM

Can I get a copy?

I'm looking to do a screening and that would be excellent for the show!

Thanks,
RW

01/24/10 2:10 AM

Please send me a copy as well!

01/24/10 2:23 PM

I would like a physical blue ray. I can pay for any cost including shipping if necessary. Thanks.

01/25/10 5:00 PM

I would love a Blu Ray copy, as I don't have a burner of my own. Of course I would pay all costs.

01/25/10 10:33 PM

Hi! You do not want to open these files up in a program like Vegas. What they are offering for download have already been processed in editing software. What is available for download is already processed and just needs to be burned to a DVD. If you don't want to wait for the Blu-Ray release I suggest downloading and burning the DL-DVD release. It looks and sounds amazing! Then when the Blu-Ray comes out get that one too and watch it again in HD! To burn the DL-DVD I used Toast Titanium 10 for Mac, but I have seen Nero suggested for Windows. Any burning software that can burn DL-DVDs should work fine though. Let me know if you have any questions. Bye.

I would like a copy on blu-ray. My computer is pretty old and I may not have funds to upgrade anytime soon. As it is I may be trying to sell some of my more collectible NIN stuff just to get some cash to help with medical bills.

01/27/10 10:54 AM

I would be willing to pay for the costs of getting a physical copy of the Blu-Ray version shipped to me in Ontario.

01/27/10 10:58 AM

Would absolutely love a BD copy; happy to pay for disc/postage.

01/27/10 2:22 PM

I am definitely game for a Blu-Ray of the great NIN!
