Maybe you have a college ID or something that uses that version. And as you probably now know, it is always best to use the name that matches your ID. Peter/Pete is not too far a stretch; Richard/Rick is a little more; and there are some that people might not even know are nicknames and so they turn out to be a problem (Margaret/Peggy, Jonathan/Jack, Theodore/Tad), etc. No need to cause oneself anguish when the tickets are right there, so close and yet so far! :-P
