Woo-hoo! I'm glad other people see Diego Rivera too. It shows that I'm not totally clueless when it comes to art. I usually just look at a picture and say, "PRETTY!"

I see you guys are on a break, looking around. Maybe you could drop by Brazil. I live in Campo Grande, a city near the border with Paraguay and Bolivia, near by Pantanal, which is one of the biggest wetlands on the planet. We have some intersting sites and a beautiful founa and flora here. You can catch a plane in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia and come straight here.

Just a suggestion! Have fun and I hope you guys can play for us very soon, maybe in December?

well, I guess I speak for lots of latin americans thta, just like myself, hate the fact that gringos call themselves "americans". I mean, its like French people started calling themselves europeans and not french, know waht I mean?. I don`t know, I just think is disrespectful for all the other americans (mexico, chile, peru, brasil, canada, paraguay, urugay, argentina, ecuador, colombia, venezuela, el salvador, etc). Its sounds like gringos are THE americans. You guys should call yourselves unitedstatians or some like that lol. Well, besides thta, I can respect an opinion, he can say whatever he wants to, but in a respectful way, but, when you come to think about it. Don't most of us disrespect other ppl's "culture" (if u can call it that) when we say that breiney spears or Hannah Montanna are just a big pile of shit?. Well, the thing with tolerance and respect is more difficult than we all think, don't you guys think?.

Greetings from Perú, you fucking pigs, lol

It's not disrespectful. We call them americans because their country is called "United States of America", and calling them "unitedstations" (lol) would be like calling dominicans "republicans", because their country is called "Dominican Republic".

10/11/08 11:10 AM

Oscoromon, I truly believe that tolerance is the only real reason the Earth still even exists. There is only so much room on this little blue globe we call home. Some people just can not wrap their minds around the fact that people are different and no matter what, like minded or not, we are neighbors. I agree with you wholeheartedly though, "tolerance" as it seems, is not easy for all. It seems that less and less is being "tolerated" these days. I am glad to see there are open minded persons like yourself still inhabiting the planet though.thumbs up

On a more photo blog related note. Is the painting more than just a painting Trent? Could be a representation of the recent Freese announcement, conciously taken or subconciously. The artist, the woman, the child. Just a random thought.winking smiley

Ok, I think that's the last time Trent will share a piece of interesting art(see above)with us...

I don't think it's meant to "mean" anything...he is just sharing what he sees.

Thanks for including us on our trip Trent!

Yeah, they should, Brazil is the most beautiful country in South America (I'm not starting anything, lol). But they won't... And neither will they play here, they're already scheduled for December, maybe on another tour, but even that seems unlikely after what happened.

The art doesn't suck. Never. You don't like it, ok, fine. But it's a piece of culture and I think you shouldn't offend the work of someone in this way just 'cause you don't like it. It's disrespectful. There are many ways to say something without offend people's culture....
It sucks to me. I don't like it, I think it's UGLY and I don't have to pretend otherwise. I don't like Picasso, either but that doesn't mean I am slamming the entire country of france or spain. What the fuck is the matter with you people? You get offended awfully easily.

Great painting. I wondering if you were taking time to take in the culture in Cuzco. It is an amazing place...well I have read that it is. Cusco art is also amazing. Did you know that Cusco means "navel"?

The last date of the second leg is 12/13/08, so technically they COULD come. Trent said "I promise we'll be back before long", before long to me means next weekend lol. I don't think they'll come, but I'm allowed to dream, right? =)

Of course, I just said it is very unlikely, but I would love to be wrong.
I think that after the last date in December they will rest or something, and there wouldn't be enough time to organize everything for a concert here in Brazil. I think that if they ever come, it would have to be on another tour. But I don't want to keep my hopes up, I've lost 2 NIN concerts already, so I'm gonna start saving money to see them somewhere else, lol.

Good picture. A reference to Revelations, the white horse and the hand of God. The man on the hose, his name will not be known until then.

It's not, most of the time. But it depends on the context. Is a way to not call people from the US "americano", since people from other countries of the American continent also consider themselves americans. Yankee is also used sometimes.
