The fact that not only did people laugh at but defended thiz picture makez my fucking skin crawl. Thiz iz no laughing matter unlezz you are a human who haz never been on the other side of the racist fence. I witnessed with my own eyez the racial slurz and bigoted remarkz that were spewed in Saul Williams direction at the show in Rochester back in 2006...for no seemingly other reason but the color of his skin. There seemed to be a large amount of angry fanz there. Angry at what..I am still not sure but the wordz they hurled at Mr. Williams is a fact. I am appalled and hurt az a fan...but more az a human with a soul. Go ahead and ban me...I am a blogger anyway...so i revel in the fact that I am enjoy my freedom and nothing can stop me now ;}
~put ON headphonez...selectz Head Down...and liztenz to every damn word..then smilez out loud~
it's okay, calm down. Of course racism is inconceivable, terrible, unacceptable, etc. beyond words...but come on -this is IRONIC.
and Negrito/Negrita is more an affectionate term than offensive. my sister-in-law gets called "Negrita" by her mom more than her real name. it's a kid's chocolate snack. it isn't meant to offend anyone. I hope no one else was seriously offended by this.
If you want offensive, check out some old Looney Tunes cartoons...wowzers.
but anyway, back to what I was GOING to say...beautiful picture, wish I was there (verrrrry much) edit: the mountain, i mean =D
