I feel really sad right now. It really does feel like the end of an era. I know that NIN are "only" a group of musicians, but it just feels like I've lost something precious. Maybe it's just me being selfish, but I really would have liked to have seen this particular incarnation of the band playing live here in Australia. (To date, there is still no venue confirmed for the Soundwave Sydney gig.) I started really listening to NIN about a year ago, got right into their/his music, therefore I have not yet seen them live, now it just feels like that will never happen, and it makes me feel very sad, even empty. OK, I know, I need to "get a life", but it would have been nice to see them just once live. I wish them all well in their future endeavours. Who knows, maybe they will get back together again one day, but right now it feels like that isn't going to happen.

it is a suck ass feeling... because I know you have a liking for Alessandro. But you still need to see them in your country. You get Robin and JMJ!!!!!!!!

I dont believe i ever recall reading Trent say this is the end of everything. They are reforming as a 4 piece as per the 12.13.08 Las Vegas Concert speech. Who knows what will happen in the future Trent & Co. have been working hard for over 3 years+ now and have given us a lot of good music and memories (for those of you who have gotten to see LITS live). You have to realize that Trent use to take years between albums and honestly those of us who are old enough to remember those days remember the feeling when a new NIN album was set to be launched. You just need to let the man rest and give things time. Don't start getting all doom and gloom here. If NIN is done post the reformation tour.. then so be it.. We have had a large library of music from Trent and everyone that has come and gone through the NIN era. Im sure Trent has something up his sleeve.. it just might take a while to see it.

I got a news article from my cab driver and he said that it is impressive that they reviewer gave NIN an "A" for their performance because that guy NEVER gives anyone a straight up A. He was nice enough to give me the article, which I thought was cool since I never got one of the Planet Hollywood pins. They should have given their NIN guests a free pin.

12/15/08 7:39 PM

trent, i hope it feels good to get home and i also hope you'll take what is probably a much needed break. thanks for everything this year. your work ethic continues to make a huge impact on me. by simply checking in everyday to the site, you've inspired me to keep working harder and harder.

thanks for being so committed to the art that is nine inch nails.

Dammit, I'm on the rail behind one of the red shirted security guards. (And I did have my arms up a lot for this show, as did the girl next to me, who also blocked from this view. We weren't zombies, seriously.)

Hi cthules!! I lasted through a horrible travel day and just got home but now that I'm finally home I HAD to see what photos were posted. Yes I'm the girl next to you who was continuously singing, singing, waving, jumping, headbanging along side of you through all the songs (minus Ghosts/Hurt of course). My first pit experience and I was so glad you were next to me so we could both keep our energy up through the whole show.

I think we were so excited to be there we even started our dancing and grooving when The Bug was on (as everyone near us just gave us some crazy looks lol) but yeah it was just so amazing that we were right there on the rail directly in front of Robin. 2 days later and I still have no voice.

Rob was right in front of me for this! (He was actually sitting on my purse, which I'd stowed on the rail.) I could've rested my elbow on his head. We kept trying to get him to look enough to his right to see the woman who ran the Las Vegas Marathon last weekend, and was holding up her runner's bib# that had been printed to say "GR8 DSTROYER" on it. But, he shrugged us off like bugs. Alas.

LOL, if you remember I was taking quite a few photos of Rob when he was taking this set of photos as he maneuvered in front of the pit. I was like, "awww, what a cutie" but we were polite and didn't bother him even though he was right there in front of us.

The scenery looks great. It looks warm and not like Chicago. It is cold, wet, frosty, icy, and more cold. Please enjoy the weather and take much of that needed break and come back with a bite for me. I love you guys and hope you have a great end of the year and a marvelous beginning to the next.

Yes, but at this point in time, there are only the Soundwave Festival dates announced, one in each capital city, and as yet still no venue set for the Sydney gig. I was kind of hoping that, as in previous years, they would follow their US tour with an Australian tour, not just a handful of dates.

Is that the name of the mountain or is it an Island?

"I have to figure out how I can get this up in my house, so I can watch porn," Reznor quipped, gazing up at the giant projection screen. " LOL

NAH just hire a few Hooks, dawl, and have em dance for you! (It's much more economical considering you've got another leg of a tour coming up in a month or so...) grinning smiley

Morbidpetal: This is an awesome review! Yes, thank you so much for sharing.

And now I'm Po'ed because I think I missed the BEST show! Figures they saved the best for last. AH WELL...live and learn!
