Hello sunne!!! smiling smiley Yes, NIN will soon be heading your way!!!! YAY!!!! I keep thinking that Trent won't be able to stay away from the stage and/or recording for too long. It's in his blood, he has to make music, either live or studio (both would be nice!!!).

BTW Mr. Sheridan sir, nice photos as always!!!! In the "Heresy" pic I see a tiny wild-haired Ilan flailing away at his drums. In "The Fragile" pic Justin looks so very much alone...

Very beautifully put. You brought a tiny tear to my eye.

Pics AS USUAL are AWESOME Mr. ROBERT(s)! smiling smiley (obscure movie reference that COMPLETLY SHOWS MY AGE! eye rolling smiley ) ARGH! I'm gettin old...LOL

Looking at some of the "stage perspective" shots out over the crowds...I know I've said it before but I've learned A LOT about myself since I started hanging out here a few years ago(really examining things I "thought" I wanted, old dreams etc.)...and God I could so NOT do what you guys do every night...all those faces staring up at you. I'd be sitting there going "OMG, WHAT do these people want from me?!"...(seriously) it must be completely surreal for you guys. Like, you KNOW on some level you're ONE person, the person you've been all your life, and then you get up on stage and ... It must be a terribly hard for you guys to maintain any sense of self or semi-normal...I think I'm beginning to understand WHY some performers talk about a "STAGE PERSONA". I think I saw an interview where Mr. Maynard was talking about if he was the Maynard he is on stage all the time he'd go nuts...Almost like playing a character or something. IDK...

Anyway that's my two cents on my coffee break! SAFE TRAVELS GUYS!

Jane, for the love of god, would you please stop referring to yourself as "old"? You weren't even close to being born when Mr. Roberts came out. If you keep this up, what will you do when you turn FORTY?! Yes there's irony in that question.

Anyhoo, hoping for good pictures of Italy. With the good camera, Rob, hint.

Maynard's actual persona is the guy on stage. The wine dude is all an act. tongue sticking out smiley

THIS IS THE DAY!
Italy (with mud and rain) is ready for Nine inch Nails!

Miss Janedoepa is not old, nor is Miss Maryelle. I'm old... but I still like to party (sometimes...) smiling smiley

What Janedoepa said before, about the "stage persona" and the "private" person. I'm glad I'm a "private citizen" and only have to show one person (me) to the world, not two separate people (so to speak). That might become very confusing and disorienting.

What Maryelle said, about the "good" camera. I've noticed that too, that lately Rob seems to be using the iPhone more often than the Canon. But that's OK, maybe the iPhone is more readily to hand at present or something...

(Geez it's quiet in here. Where is everybody????)

Hi there Joan! Good to meet here again! 5½ days to go...me, my friend, my son and his friend have quite a l-o-n-g drive ahead of us, something like 7 hours, but we'll keep the car loaded with snacks and NIN-CDs, so we should definitely be ok. Hopefully the weather will stay as nice as it is right now, I've heard rumours af temperatures up to 30 degrees C! Fortunately NIN will get on stage right before midnight, and since we are way up north it will still be light outside. It's going to be so so SO great! Can't wait! =D

Hell no, I'm not old or even "old." I won't be "old" for years, nor old for MANY years. But sheesh you'd think Jane is everyone's great-gramma the way she goes on. :-D Jane you're younger than 3/4 of this band; if you're "old" what does that make them??

Rob uses the iPhone for the photoblog pictures so he can upload them on the spot. But it can only take pictures as good as a phone can take pictures. Personally I'd be willing to wait a little bit and have better ones out of the Canon. But that's just my own preference; there is something to be said for immediacy.

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every show seems always to be the best ever seen.
See you in Rome.

If you're interested, enjoy my video from backstage in Holmdel ( not too bad quality because I was lucky enough to be in a very good position, except when smoke machine was on (I was beside it) and all changed into Quake).

Hi there!! smiling smiley Yes, 7 hours is a long way to drive. You will be taking turns driving of course, and keeping the energy levels up with NIN and sugary snacks!!! smiling smiley 30 degrees C is pleasant summer weather, hopefully it will stay fine. And, yes, I didn't realise, you guys must be inside the Arctic Circle? WOW!!! NIN at near midnight and still bright "daylight"!!!! *cough* should get some good photos *cough* smiling smiley

Actually I think Rob is a very smart lad. He may think that people might save photos from the photoblog, so he uses the iPhone, then uses the Canon for the photos he wants to sell, FRC, did I get it right? So people would be happy to pay for the better quality photos.

06/27/09 5:27 AM

Well, they may be taken with the iPhone, but dammit Rob, you do take a decent photo!!!! Thanks for posting!!!! smiling smiley

I don't think that's it; he puts the Canon pictures up on Flickr so they're just as downloadable as the iPhone pictures. The Flickr pictures are screen resolution anyway, just like the iPhone pictures, and can't be printed at the quality that an FRC image can be.

Anyway I don't know what he's thinking but I am pretty sure he uses the iPhone so he can upload right away.

Also he tweeted a nice picture of the roof of the Duomo today. He ought to put those up here too; they are part of the tour.
