I'm very exited to find out what direction he is going to take. I hope he keeps working with other top producers to make hits. I would love to hear him work with BT or Cevin kEy (that could be freaking sick) or whoever. The songs he did with Bowie and Saul Williams were awesome.

But on the other hand, he did say he was going to make music with his future wife. Could they become the 21st century John and Yoko???? tongue sticking out smiley

Quoted for Truth! This band is so freakin tight. They certainly are a band and not just Trent Reznor and his touring musicians. The world is losing one of the greatest live bands ever.

Interesting that you say that...

John married Yoko.

The public backlashed against her.

The band announced they would no longer tour.

They become a studio band and went on to make Sgt. Pepper, Abbey Road, etc. (much more experimental).

... all of this is, a little ... familar...

Of course, I am happy for TR and the bride to be... just an observation...

Or like Etty and Perry Farrel....

Ilan has the youth factor on his side, thats the one thing. He is getting to that level ya know? so in 10 years I wanna see where Ilan is.

And I think we got 3 more, the same ol same ol, unless he drops one more track in there.

Nevermind on the correction... It was Strange Kind of Love

Ilan is more powerful I think....maybe not as good technically, but he's young. Plenty of time to improve.

Interesting, I like both.

I think Josh has a certain "swing" to his drumming that is present on everything he does. Whereas, I think often that Ilan is able to convey the ORIGINAL vibe of a song moreso - good example would be comparing performances of "Mr. Self Destruct".

On the subject of Freese, I was listening to the radio kinda soft the other day, a song came on and all I could really here was the drums... and for a second I though "NIN"! But then I turned it up only to realize it was one of the songs Josh did with 3 Doors Down - Yuck!

Except for the fact that Jane's has never made an album of the calibur of Sgt. Pepper... Or The Fragile for that matter... IMHO.

Josh is on too many albums to count. He is THE hired gun for that kind of thing. He doesnt knwo half the stuff he does too. He just gets called in and works. He drummed on Avril Lavignes first album and didnt know it til he was told by a person that read the liner notes.

I like Josh, dont get me wrong, he's great but uhhh ... some of his credits make me a little glad he's not in NIN... I mean, he's on Kelly Clarkson's record and all... it sorta teeters on basically being a "sell out", whatever that really is at his level...
