I think it would be interesting to see NIN in the daytime, and like I said it's better for filming and photography. Also, if the sun gets to setting in just the right way it'll be totally awesome.
I wonder if NIN will be having an encore worked into their set list, or if the encore will be a "duet"-type thing with JA-like starting with maybe a couple last NIN songs then ending with one or two JA songs with Trent in them as a kind of "transition", which I believe is similar to what they did with David Bowie (with Bowie singing in "Reptile" and "Hurt" and Trent in "Scary Monsters" and "Subterraneans" ). The way I could see this being difficult of course is the fact that it's set up with 15-minute breaks for the next band to go in and set up their equipment so if anything NIN's "encore" could be just having the lead singer from JA (Perry I think it is-sorry I haven't been into the band long enough) do a couple songs with NIN, then the break-then Trent comes out with JA to do a couple songs-although it would perhaps be better to make it a "surprise appearance" in the middle of their set-it might work better for NIN fans to have Trent there at the beginning just to "draw them in"-at least if they haven't left already during the break.
So anyway whatever they do I'm sure it'll be awesome. I also hope they play "And All That Could Have Been" for the first time during this tour and either make it a "staple" (I know they're probably planning to have as few of those as possible during the tour but I think the exceptionally rare/never been played before tracks should get special treatment given the fact that this may be their last tour in a while) or just play it at the Kansas City show I'm going to (I'd rather have it be a staple though so I don't feel as selfish about it, though. lol). "Sunspots" would also be awesome just because it's been requested so much and I don't personally care whether it's sung the same way it is on the album or not.
Oh yes, and Trent I'll be the next person here to THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING-Ghosts, The Slip, the LitS tour, playing "The Wretched", "Down In It" and "Reptile" in Minneapolis, the gift footage, the relaxed camera policies and despite the disadvantages of a daylight show I'll still thank you for that because it'll probably make filming and photography easier overall. I'll also thank you for the fact that I'll get to see you play a bit sooner and that I won't have to deal with quite as many assholes trying to boo Jane's Addiction off the stage when they play. Last of all thank you for Nine Inch Nails itself and just for being you-because YOU ARE AWESOME. I won't say you're a God 'cause that's idolatry and I'd don't roll like that but I will say you are "Closer" to God than most people (not in a spiritual/religious way, more in a hierarchical way, lol).
And to SickMessiah-I won't accuse you of complaining-I think you put what you wanted to say quite well and your concerns are valid to some extent. Regardless of that, I don't think Trent's going to change his mind about it-the arrangement is kinda set in stone as it were. But again I'm sure the show will be awesome enough in other ways to make up for the fact that it's happening in daylight.
And wouldn't it be awesome to see them play "In This Twilight" when it's ACTUALLY twilight?!
