idle posted:As Mudget said you won't find too many Jane's fans grouping together on line. Stems from the fact that the band always went their separate ways so I guess the fans do too. Also there have been way to many sites come and gone over the years (both official and not) that make it hard to settle somewhere. Anyone remember:
JanesAddiction.net
Teeth.net
Justin's Janes Addiction Page
PerryFarrel.net (the original one and then the second one and then the...)

DaveNavarro.com

The Official Jane's Addiction on Warner Brothers site

any more?
Oh man, I totally remember Justin's Jane's Addiction page. Way back in 1995 or 1996, it was one of the first sites that came up when you searched (in one of the pre-Google search engines like Lycos) for Jane's Addiction. I still remember the piece of fiction posted there, and this great line: "That's why no one listens to Jane's any more. It was the fuck soundtrack for a generation that has long since broken up."
As for JA sites, there was also Some Divers Whistle, which I remember getting some good bootlegs off of. They did a good job keeping up with the post- and side projects like Polar Bear and Deconstruction.
The lack of an established online JA community may also just be an artifact of the band having broken up long ago, years before the Internet. But the biggest critical mass and most active messageboards were at 1% and then at Xiola after 1% went by the wayside. There've also been some unseemly public squabbles between Sonny, the guy who runs Xiola (I do respect Sonny) and Perry Farrell and his wife over domain names. I remember all the drama when people realized that Perry's wife had been posting under a pseudonym for a while, mostly to defend Perry's reputation and take shots at the other band members.
It's one big, happy, dysfunctional family.
