ok so my apologies for bitching, though i have listened to JA and again, im sorry to anyone, but theyre a whiny complaining band. with only, hmmm 3 albums out? NIN has that beat, by a looong shot, and, with all due respect, let trent do what he wants to do, and if he has a master plan-im all fucking for it. i guess i'll stick around & see what trent and the rest of the gang are gonna pull together. it would be quite amusing.yet i was hoping for a whole blow out technical production i guess i'll suck it up and deal with them playing in the daylight. atleast im seeing them right?
No need to apologize. I haven't laughed at any of the other posts in this thread quite as hard! Thanks.

Those that are whining only do so out of regret that their favorite band, that they payed so much to see, is opening, for anyone. I, for one, loooove Nothing's Shocking and Ritual DE lo Habitual; two of the greatest albums ever!! BUT..... I was a little upset at the news. Some of the hardcore fans are always going to have a knee jerk reaction to such news, just because they do feel one band is better than the other. They have a right to that opinion, as well as the right to post that opinion in a public forum without people questioning them or worse, giving them shit about it. Let 'em be. Those of us that know and love JA will be there regardless if we may or may not think it is weird that NIN is opening every show.

Ain't no wrong now, ain't no right.

On the contrary, I admire poisongirl for her inspiring courage in dealing with the terrible, crushing adversity of watching Nine Inch Nails come on stage with the dayball still lingering in the skybowl. When I learned that I would be forced to see one of my favorite bands without a superk3wl laser light show, I cut my wrists and cursed the gods for their cruelty.

Since we get no JA in Chicago, I guess NIN is closing here. :-D

Thanks for getting an old lady to bed early, Trent!!!

LMAO

Wow.. you would figure that NIN fans would be happy that they go on before JA. That way they can leave early and avoid having to sit through what they would consider a crappy JA performance.

Me.. I'm very excited about all three bands. I really dig the music I've heard so far from Street Sweeper. And I just love the funky style of JA. And NIN.. no words necessary.

04/30/09 4:29 PM

I'm happy with an hour and a half of NIN. Sure, more would be nice, but I'm getting another hour and a half of a legendary band. 3 hours of boss music is worth the 35 quid i paid for a ticket...

Maybe theyll change it for the UK shows. I doubt it, but I couldnt give 2 shits. Thank the lord for indoor arenas!

How I love you, Botley. I may even overlook the fact that there are FEET in your avatar. Now if that isn't a proof of love, I don't know what is.

Even cartoon feet bother you?

04/30/09 5:23 PM

They are based on real feet. And the original picture is very disturbing, as you know! grinning smiley

04/30/09 6:27 PM

Haha. I actually debated whether or not to crop the feet out of my avatar, in order to preserve more forehead, but they're just too classic.

Looking forward to the Toronto show? What section are you sitting in? Let's hope for your sake that everyone in Jane's can keep their shoes on!

I'm excited for this tour. Kinda lame the NIN goes on before JA, but I'm not to the point where I'm complaining. I just never really gotten into JA and I think it would've been awesoem to see NIN close out especially since it's there last tour for awhile.Well anyways, any JA songs you guys recommend I should give a try?

The first Jane's album I ever bought was their first live one (self titled, released in 1987), and it got me hooked. Remember to blast the volume. Beautiful.

All of them. Or most of them.

Preferably check out the albums Nothing's Shocking and Ritual de lo Habitual. Honestly I've liked most everything I've heard and am looking forward to an awesome hour and a half set from them on 5/22.

04/30/09 7:03 PM

Ocean Size and Whores are good ones... i just picked up the best of and have really been digging everything on it. Stop is another good one... loud is good though. Definitely shouldn't be closing out the night though.

Absolutely; I can't wait! And it's section 409. Since I am half blind, maybe it will be far enough that I don't get to see any feet if they go shoeless! grinning smiley

04/30/09 6:07 PM

Whatttt??? This sort of dissapoints me considering this is the second show i've ever been to by NIN and I have to agree that it would be better if NIN closed because they are better then Jane's Addiction and Stree Sweeper put together, but I guess if it's already decided, there's nothing we can do...

04/30/09 6:11 PM

Yesterday, I was all mixed feelings, butttt
I got my teeth whitened for prom, and I look slick for tomorrow.
Good mood grinning smiley

1 1/2 hour of nin, floor tickets, and can leave early out of the parking lot of hell.
Just perfect for me.

just a question for yall folks, how long did nin play last tour?

04/30/09 6:29 PM

haha thanks to all that i amused with my comment about bitching and whinging. except for a select few who dont understand my humor, but to those who do, thank you smiling smiley & yes JA is whiney. his voice makes me want to shove scissors in my ears, but listening to the music alone just has the same effect. ive been a NIN fan since i was little, i grew up listening to them- i support them way more than JA. but if its what trent wants, then its what trent gets. im not gonna fight it, just gonna find a million ways to bitch & moan, but i'll deal. i'll just walk around til theyre done and wait for the finale grinning smiley haha

04/30/09 6:40 PM

I had a good laugh @ all the fuckweeds in this thread.

All I can say is: I'd love to see this show. It's gonna be massive amounts of fun for everyone with an open mind (or any kind of brains at all).

04/30/09 6:59 PM

There you go...just deal with it! I'm sure there will be an awesome encore. However, I am seriously done with ALL the repetitive whining that has been going on in here. There are a bunch of FUCKING...SELFISH bitches/bastards whining about something they have no fucking control over.

Go and enjoy the concert...try and make the best of it...or just SELL YOUR FUCKING TICKETS AND STAY THE HELL HOME!!! Like Trent said early on..."it's embarrassing".

It's really sad that so many of you can not find the positive in this. Life's too short...have fun or just stay miserable.

I'm going to tweet...it's a much happier place...everyone is much happier and POSITIVE over there...

See Ya...I can't handle all the negativity over here tongue sticking out smiley

04/30/09 7:03 PM

Oh Ill stay for Jane's Addiction, so I can throw Dave Navarro into the Gorge! S.O.S. NIN needs to close!

04/30/09 7:04 PM

I am pretty sure I was in the pit watching trent hang from chains in small clubs when most of you were in diapers. Nin from 89-91 was unbelievable. Janes from 85-91 was even more unbelievable. Nine inch nails played in the daytime at the original lolla with a minimal stage set up and it was f'in unbelievably great.

I don't think most of you realize that this is the first real janes addiction tour since 1991, and I know most of you underestimate the significance of that. If all you have heard is Jane Says and been caught stealing then you aren't even entitled to have an opinion of janes addiction. Do some you tube searches for janes shows from 91 and earlier and educate yourselves. Anyone who leaves this show early is a moron.

Nothing would be cooler than for Trent and company to get up on stage at twilight and play all of pretty hate machine and broken... I would be very pleased if that happened.

Oh and if you really think that janes fans are hippies that dont mosh... well, watch your head.

04/30/09 7:45 PM

if you want a decent idea of what Jane's Addiction is sounding like right now, go over to their website (www.JanesAddiction.com) - go to videos - and check out the El Cid show they did a few months back. it's clips from most of the songs they did at that venue.

better still, here's the direct link El Cid 2008

sorry, i verge on lazy.

LOL you say this like there really are any more albums out there to check out...cept the Kettle album....
If I were you I (like I did) would get thier best hits "Up from the Catacombs"

Some of thier stuff is good: Ted, Just Admit It; Ocean Size, 3 Days, Stop, Mountain Song....depends on your tastes, In Had a Dad you can here the sample trent used for PHM. There not bad, but I wouldn't say thier great...in my opinion.
