Mudget posted:I really do like Street Sweeper, but man it would have been amazing if those guys could have gotten the Butthole Surfers to somehow be the opener. Heh. For me the three highlights of the first Lolla were the Butts, NIN, and Jane's. Actually, Siousxie was frickin amazing too. Ahhh, the good old days.
I must say I found a post above really funny. Someone said "...And us the younger have been the ones shaping the mainstream landscape of the last 10 years."
May I go ahead and interject here that your generation should really be trying a little harder? We're long overdue for a new musical movement. Not since Jane's/NIN, etc. (and PJ/Soundgarden/Nirvana, etc. out of Seattle) and the whole alt/grunge thing have we even had any kind of musical revolution at all.
Your generation is SLACKING!
Produce something novel so the younger generations of 20 years from now can be ignorant about them. At least then you'll finally, truly understand what's going on here.
Uh-oh, this thread is becoming a generational discussion. Again, uh-oh.
So, a Gen-X is telling a Gen-Y we're slackers?
Talk about irony... :-D
But I do agree with you, music these days... Shit, I can't believe myself at the store (yes, I still make purchases at the record store), looking for Soundgarden. I'm really that desperate.
Music these times sucks major ass, I agree with you. I'm glad NIN came back and saved the day in 2005 so we can have some decent memories about this decade.
And... I'm working on something of my own (beg you pardon the lame self-promotion, heh.)
