Just to make you guys aware.....

On Jane's Addiction's website it clearly states that this tour is a CO-HEADLINING tour with NIN and JA. It also CLEARLY states that in the NIN/JA tour acronym.

Stop bitching. Both bands are amazing. NIN is playing an hour and a half and YOU KNOW that JA and NIN are going to play together at the end of the concert. This tour has Tom Morello, Boots Riley, Trent Reznor, and all of the cast and crew of both bands, and you are all complaining about order!

Wake up, and realize how special this is.

Thanks Trent for the great camera policy and the opportunity to attend such an amazing show!

AGREED!! If it were up to me Nails would play for ever, but I have always loved JA and SSSC is something new.... THIS TOUR IS GOING TO OWN NO MATTER WHAT And thanx Trent for everything you do and have done for us CANT WAIT TILL MAY smiling bouncing smiley Woop Woop!

First off, apparently you have gotten your information of the swine flu from fox news because swine flu does not equal death. Secondly, after reading pages upon pages of bitching and complaining about something so stupid and selfish (set times) that it baffles me people can be so RUDE. "well reasoned, reasons to be annoyed" WTF...how is there such thing? The fact that most people on this forum like to complain that's what. So please don't say I wish death upon people when that isn't the fact. Maybe get your medical news somewhere other than CNN or Fox. I highly reccomend that. And don't call me a psychotic fuck, you ignorant prick. Oh and if you didn't notice..people around here don't pay attention or get pissed off if you try and talk "above" their level..so swearing usually works. This is a NIN forum for fuck sakes. I work with psychotic people and trust me man, you have to get down to their level to get anything accross. People here understand fuck fuck shit fuck this that not " I understand your all angry and I see this is upsetting you but lets look at the situation" if you talk like that you'll get punched. So go back to your theater group

I'm Canadian, so I don't get my news from any of your pathetic 'American' news stations, and believe me; the way it was framed, it appeared that you were, at the very least, wishing harm on people.

Justifying acting like an asshole with "this is a nin forum!" is just that; justification. You don't need to attack people when you post, you know... you can just talk. I'm not trying to talk "above" your level; the swearing wasn't the main problem. The problem with your post was it was just an attack with no reasoning to it; if a post is just an emotional outburst, it adds nothing to a conversation.

I agree, there's lots of whining going on in here, but swearing at them isn't going to make them stop whining. I haven't been whining, though I personally don't like Jane's Addiction, but at the very least this can be a window for me to leave early if their live show impresses me as little as their studio music.

Ultimately, Trent does what he wants and I'm cool with that. A lot of people are going to be happy that Jane's is closing, and that's cool. Those who aren't happy about it are equally entitled to their opinion, and don't deserve to be assaulted as they so frequently are on this thread.

Didn't mean to offend you or attack you, I was mostly in a bad mood and it really annoys me to see aimlessly incidenary posts.

Hope you're having a good day!

EDIT:: I re-read a lot of this thread, and I sympathize with you much more strongly. This forum is filled with a lot of... pathetic people.

SECOND EDIT:: When I say 'pathetic' American news, I mean your news services are pathetic... not Americans themselves.

Dude, I live right outside of Toronto. I'm NOT American. lol

So lemme get this straight, you're getting a tour of Street Sweeper, NIN and Jane's Addiction and you're whining? Europe (or rest of the world) > USA once again.

I think the worst is over here. With most breaking NIN news, it goes something like this:

Page 1-10, lots of bitching with some sensible posts here and there.
Page 11-15, pure bitchery is in the minority.
Page 16-, lots of realization and joke-making, and so most of the posts follow suit and eventually the post rate goes to a low.

Bottom line/lesson to the bitches: Try to find the bright side of things before spewing nonsense. As the European as has said, we're getting a tour (AGAIN), aren't we? Trent's alive, isn't he?

***Man I skip town for a day and miss the drama on nin.com, who would've thought?***

My initial reaction to this was not very well, but I took some time to think about the beauty of the set times. I'm there mainly to see SSSC & NIN so this set up works great. I can relax more during Jane's and not have to fight for a rail spot.

04/29/09 1:10 PM

Since Mayhem fest keeps being brought up I looked into it, and god why oh why are pit tickets to see slayer and manson only 60 dollars??? But enter janes addiction into the equation, at the exact same venue, and tickets are 110-150 dollars a piece? why?

Oh, manson and slayer are washed up has-been legends you say???

then what the hell is janes addiction, whose last album that was embraced by fans was made in 1990.

Did you pay $105 to see NIN? And are you still going to see NIN? Are you going to see NIN play for the same amount of time that they would play whether they went on first or second?

I don't think if JA were going on first that NIN would come out and join them, before they've played. It kind of ruins their big "reveal," as it were. But if Jane's plays second and then NIN comes out to jam with them, all the people who thought NIN was done playing will have a nice surprise.

All you complainers don't give TR enough credit. Do you think he's stupid and hasn't considered every angle of this? Anyhoo, if you really want to leave after NIN, go ahead. There will be people happy to take your spots.

Maybe with Jane's closing it will empty out some of the parking lot before I leave at the end. smiling smiley

04/29/09 1:17 PM

What I am hoping for are band duets/jams (electro infused Three Days would be AWESOME as well as Dave and Robin trading licks on Head Like a Hole), and cross covers (NIN doing 1%, Jane's doing Wish)

I'm a MAJOR fan of both bands so I really don't care who goes first. Besides I'm up in the front in a pavilion so night/day won't matter (at least I don't think). I have complete faith in ANYTHING TR decides to do. He could go on a morning show with the sun blinding and blow people away. Relax people you're gonna get your ride!

Also factor in these possibilities (total speculations and musings of course):

This is not just any Jane's tour. As you can tell by his lack of absence on the shitious Strays album Eric Avery was absolutely essential to Jane's Addiction being the powerhouse it is renowned for. Talk to any fan since 97s relapse and you'd mostly here....".Yeah but Eric's not in it. Not the same."

It may have come down to who's site presale tix went most from

Could be the respect thing

Could very well be Trent just wants to go early for once! Get it out of the way and enjoy the rest of the concert!

TR is and always will be a game changer which is what I respect MOST about him.

You want to leave? Go ahead but be sure to give your stubs to a fan outside who wasn't able to get tix

I only scrolled through to read TR's posts (because it amuses me to no end to see him throw down on the innumerable idiots around here), but just for the hell of it I'm going to make a guess as to the content of the last 18 pages:

~70 angsty posts from people who feel personally wronged by the set times
~70 replies to those people, telling them to shut the fuck up and stop being idiots
~70 replies to those replies, most of which are the equivalent of: "No, YOU'RE the doodoohead!!"
~50 non-specific posts about how it's disrespectful to be complaining
~30 posts from people sucking up to Trent, most of which are just quotes of his posts with "win" added underneath
~20 requests for certain songs to be included in the setlist for specific shows
~20 off-topic questions
~10 posts directing those people who asked off-topic questions to the proper threads, all of which are pointless since those questions were all posted by newbs who won't actually return to see if their questions were answered because they're probably sitting at home waiting for TR himself to answer them via PM
~5 questions that were already answered in the first several pages of the thread
~5 angry replies berating those posters for not having read the previous pages before posting
~40 "fail" and "facepalm" pics
~20 posts criticizing other posters' grammar or spelling
~50 references to Trent's tweets
~30 posts by moderators reminding everyone to stay on topic and stop flaming
~20 "I can't believe I even came in here to read this stupidity" posts
~5 posts that are completely nonsensical

Am I close? tongue sticking out smiley

If you don't like the price, don't buy, simple. If you'd rather go to the Mayhem fest, then go.

Ok, wow this absolutely the most retarded decision. Does Trent have any idea what's going to happen? Half if not most of the audience will flush out. And, did I really just pay 150 dollars for tickets to see NIN during the day and to play a probably shorter than normal set list?

And some of you ass kissers don't come yapping at me calling me a whiner. If this was announced beforehand I would have gotten lawn seats instead of premium 150 dollar tickets to see janes addiction in a lineup that hasn't toured together in ages. Frankly, I respect Janes, but I could give 2 shits in retrospect.

REALLY TRENT? REALLY?

Sorry, it is quite likely that he does not give a fuck what you think. Artists do what they want because it is cool, and give everyone else the privilege of the chance to take part in it. So, please shut up, because you look like a redneck and you are making other innocent fans (who just want to go and enjoy the acts) look bad. Trent just did a mega-epic ultra-fan-serving tour with a longer set to highlight Ghosts and YZ in addition to standard set design, and wore himself out in the process of working so hard to make everyone (including himself) happy. This tour is for HIS enjoyment so he can make sure he will WANT to tour again in the future. This is what he has said.

04/29/09 1:20 PM

It would make sense to me to just whine about the amount of sunblock we have to wear for these shows or ticket prices because we are poor or that NIN never has shirts that fit skinny girls with big boobs or where the hell did those Beavis & Butthead NIN clips go (yah I whine about those too) but you are whining about a two hour time difference. It is not two extra hours you have to keep in a dirty tampon it is two hours early for a show.

He could have said screw you all you asshole fans (because that is what a lot of you are) and skipped us and went to Europe where all the cool things are.

I don't get it.

EDIT: At least some amount of people will leave during the show and possibly give me and my boobs some more room on the rail.

So true... All true.

I do think there's a little something extra in store for us at all at these shows that we don't quite know anything about yet. Perry recently described something about entrances and exits (i.e. between acts) in a video interview with Rolling Stone, and "unions of music"...

We can rule that out. Nin presale tix sold out in a couple mins. JA presale PIT tickets were still on sale for days and days.

04/29/09 1:25 PM

So given the choice of staying for a legendary band you've already paid for or leaving because your favorite legendary band isn't closing, some of you will be leaving anyway?

Hehe. That's not a well-thought-out logical plan.

That's a temper tantrum.

Jane's presale sold out in 4 minutes for my show. I was lucky to be online at the right moment. I don't think our experiences are very different.

I don't mind people expressing unhappiness, but I do think trying to rain on other people's good time is pretty pathetic.

its a lot easier to be able to watch the action after a gig than before. maybe he just wants to play in the sun, chill out, and watch one of his favorites! its not so hard to imagine.

everyone here seems so entitled, and are only thinking about themselves in this matter.. but fuck that. the man has done a LOT for us. maybe we should just let him enjoy this one.

Dunno what's up in Mansfield (or even where it is), but in Kansas City, the bible-belt midwest, no less, our tix got gobbled up fast. And that seems to be the norm, not the exception, based on how fast they all went "Sold Out" on the site. Do you really want this to devolve into a "My band is better than your band" thing anyway?

Nevermind, it devolved there pages ago. <sigh>

Just go and have a good time. If your own rock god can't convince you, no one can.

Although I think things have calmed down here somewhat for the first day I have considered suggesting that some seperate threads be made in regards to this announcement:

-A complain about Jane's Addiction playing after NIN thread.
-A complain about the "whinny bitches" complaining about it thread.
-An intellectual discussion about the announcement thread, where everyone gets to calmly discuss the pros and cons and their other personal thoughts about what the announcement means to them.

I also have thought about the following:

-Someone needs to make a new Hitler subtitle video about this (I know someone already did it for the announcement that NIN would stop touring-but hey!).
-In response to the guy who said that he'd close for the concert-that's funny but it'd be even funnier if I said I'D close for them! Seriously, it'd put sticking around to see Jane's Addiction totally in perspective! And you'd still have a reason to leave before the entire concert is over! Also, technically the show would end with NIN songs being played.
