Kinda sucks, but the point is we still get to see NIN. I am not complaining since Trent was nice enough to swing by Albuquerque.

Agreed with the swinging by ABQ part. However, let's think about something logically shant we? Does anyone think - better yet believe - NIN would be where they are now musically without the influence and/or guidence of Jane's Addiction?? TR said it himself (more or less) that they were a huge influential piece in the tapestry of music that is NIN. And has anyone heared Chip Away?? God that song is tribal, raw, and savage; and I must say Mr. Farrell's voice hasn't sounded this crisp in a while. So ppl suck it up, shut it up, and go to enjoy the music!

Is it anyone here's concern if people leave during JA? Is the prospect of that troubling you so much you need to express it here as if that's never been considered?

Regarding "the Mayhem Fest" being cheaper comment - if you are actually going to that show and paying ANY money for it, enough said.

Regarding Chicago - there is a "soft" curfew at 11PM. Do not concern yourselves with this. Do you really think we would come to a major market and only play an hour? Use your heads.

Wow Trent, I totally agree! I cant wait to see the entire show in Chula Vista, Ca in May!! Woot! thumbs up

I have a friend who went to see a big name band in the early 70's (I don't remember who it was) but apparently a lot of concerts back then had the big name play first. He and a lot of others went home after the big name played because no one knew who Bruce Springsteen was at the time and he was closing the show. Times have changed.

04/29/09 10:06 PM

Don't lie, you did this just so you would have time to go catch the new Star Trek.

I'm sure we're all in for one hell of a show regardless of when it takes place. Can't wait!

I justbdont get it. People are gonna be shot after nin goes off. Your gonna see a lot of people leaving for janes!! I have seen this too many times before

bullshit. best show i ever saw of nin was 2000 fragile tour at the big day out in australia, in bright daylight, they played before RHCP at around 7pm during daylight savings.

just shut up and stop complaining you stupid fuckwit.

^it's not an argument, it's advice and fact. you don't deserve to go to the show so just sell your ticket and stay home, let people go who are gonna enjoy it without reservations.

The show NIN is going to play is the exact opposite of LITS. The sets will be truly varied, there's no production limitations and we know a LOT of material now. I wanted play first, and I wanted to start the set in daylight. If you're here reading and frothing on this board, you're likely a fan. You've likely seen us recently - this is a chance to see something quite different. JA is not bigger than us and we're not bigger than JA - this is an issue of respect and simply WHAT I WANT TO DO because I do have a master plan here. Open up your minds for a second and lay off the knee-jerk reactionary bullshit for a second - it's embarrassing for all of us.

And this is why I love Trent.

What are you people, fascist? Why dont you form a police to stop people from coming who dissent. Im also sick of hearing people say "just sell your ticket!!!" when you should know damn well its no simple task to sell a ticket with your name on it.

Besides, i plan on going. Im just frustrated by the whole thing, and last i checked was allowed to say so.

Go ahead and bombard me with hate mail. But please people STOP BITCHING. Janes as well as NIN have their place in music history. We are seeing a few amazing bands and muscians individually. Get off IT ALREADY! Whats it matter who closes....

BTW, Janes is touring with the original line up from what I've read. Any die hard 90's Janes fans will be happy about that.

Im happy that there is a relaxed camera policy! Lets focus on that perhaps..

Some random thought from the peanut gallery:

- NIN has been steadily putting out albums for years now some of which they simply give to us for free. They have had more major tours in the last decade then just about any band you will find. They have great and meaningful web content available to their fans any time they want it and even participate in the conversation here at times. What the hell more do you want from these people??

- Several posters have complained about the 'short' hour and a half set NIN is playing. What the hell concerts do you go to where the sets are longer then an hour and a half even when there is only one headlining band. (there are of course a few exceptions including I guess the Lights in the Sky tour but I have been going to concerts for 20 years and an hour and a half set is about as good as it gets for tours like this)

- So many posters are 'worried' about masses of NIN fans leaving after their set and poor old Jane's Addiction remaining on the stage with the tumbleweeds blowing trying their best not to seem embarrassed. Anyone who knows what the guys in this band are like will know that not only will they be O.K. with you leaving but they won't even tell you to go fuck yourselves for doing so. And what makes you so sure that if NIN played last everyone would stay and a few hundred people who were waiting in the parking lot just for the NIN set would actually increase the attendance. Did it even occur to any of you that just maybe there are people going to see JA who don't really care for NIN??? GASP!!!

- We are NIN fans on a NIN website, isn't it possible that our opinions might be slightly different from... oh say... Jane's Addiction fans on a Jane's Addiction fan site... DUH

- I really like ice cream. I mean I REALLY DO like it.

- Someone posted that since the pre sale at this site sold out much faster then the presale at Jane's site that proves what the fans want. The Jane's site has only been up for a couple of months, not exactly much time to build a user base.

- Is no one excited to see NIN is a differnt scenario then you are used to?. Big stadium rock shows are cool but they have been done many times before and here is a chance to see NIN in a different element and isn't it a bit curious to see what kind of show they will put on?

- Many of you are seriously fond of Trent and think he is Deity of sorts and that's fine with me, I understand where your coming from. But for those of us who feel that way about Perry Farrell I can say this: When Perry says 'were doing this, come along' we don't ask questions, we don't have concerns. We say where and when and we show up and enjoy the experience. Period.

- When Porno for Pyros played at the Tibetan Freedom concert in NY their set was 30 min and they played at 11am. I flew from Toronto to see the show and I was HAPPY.

- I want you to be happy too. I want us all to be. I'm willing to bet come show time just about everyone of us WILL be happy.

an early niter with NIN?? Ok sounds good to me....

04/29/09 11:45 PM

Who cares who plays when. All three of these bands have so much talent that it's silly to get all tripped up over who plays when. It's a co tour, so that means equal time between NIN and Jane's. Some of you aren't being fair to Jane's Addictions half of the show, that is why they call it a co headlining tour, both bands have equal time. I am so proud to be a fan of these bands, and know this tour is going to leave an impression on me for the rest of my life. Thanks for playing Pittsburgh, I can't wait.

04/30/09 12:01 AM

Anybody who watches NIN then leaves has no respect for good music. Have you seen Jane's 100 times? No? Then stay. Hell, have you seen Jane's in the last 10 years? No? Then stay.

Leaving a show before one of the most legendary alternative bands of all time is just plain blasphemy. You're doing yourself a grave injustice by not watching them.

04/30/09 12:14 AM

You know, the thing that attracted me to Nine Inch Nails in the first place almost 2 decade ago was how Trent so obviously did things his own way. I'm blessed to have the opportunity to see him all these years later STILL doing things his own way.

So many bands do what they think their audience would want, and it makes me want to puke. Hell, if I thought Trent was caving into the his audience I'd probably stop listening. But he hasn't, and I doubt he ever will.

Jane's Addiction is legendary in a way even Nine Inch Nails isn't. Have some respect, people. And I'm only a casual Jane's fan.

04/30/09 1:18 AM

Sorry, Trent about everyones bitching. I think its great, your great to your fans and NON of us should be bitching.
I''m excited to see NIN in a new way, and see what Jane's sounds like since the 90's.
Let's see.... free music, lax camera's, free shit ALL the time.... really people chill the fuck out.

I see no obvious reason why this threat is even as long as it is. I've lost the discussion on page 2 approx.

Paying people, who whine around, any kind of attention is nearly as good as jumping through hoobs for them!

I never expected NIN to play headline in the first place. I just thought it was out there somehow. Call it female intuition if you will!

And stop whining please, sissies. There are people that payed twice as much as the avarage concert goer, because we need to attend a festival (ticketmaster is my only hint on that one), in order to see NIN. And they are only scheduled for an hour. + no SSSS.
Very sad. But you know your fucking deal when you buy a ticket!

Suck it up!

If the set was 10 minutes long and all Trend did was sing two songs acapella, flip me off, and storm off stage, I'd still pay full price for a ticket and go see every show within 500 miles of my home town. Call me crazy, but I'd know sight unseen that it'd be the most inspired 10 minutes of the year.

04/30/09 1:56 AM

Dudes, chill. I caught two of the recent Australian shows, and the boys played for an hour and a half or there abouts, with out the LITS style lighting, and we all fucking loved it.

And just out of interest, Janes are playing in Sydney soon at the exact venue that NIN recently did. Belive it or not they are just as beloved as NIN.

And maybe this will make me sound old, but I've had a look at the age of many complainers on here - I'm sorry, but what the fuck do 19yr olds know about Janes? When you were wearing a bib and playing with blocks, these guys kicked off 90s alternative (well before Nirvana made it top 40), and they would always play higher on the bill than NIN.

If you walk out on Janes, not only are you a douchebag, you apparantly know fuck all about good music, and will miss out on what I'm sure will be a great show.
Not only that, mathematicaly speaking, you're making your ticket reletively more expensive.
Give yourselves an uppercut.

04/30/09 2:20 AM

So i guess those that are unhappy are saying they dont wanna pay for it?

Well when NIN finish they can walk right through the door...walk right through the door.

But point being i dont wanna see NIN play almost a whole set in daylight .. Come on WTF ..
Alot of you NIN fans think if Trent was to become a flaming homo that it would be ok , and even kewl cuz " trent is god " to you ... Grow up .. People like me have a right to say something bad about a idea .. Like alaot of these fans " bitching " on here ..I love NIN .. And i am just upset not to be able to see em in flashing greatness .. Im still going to have a good time im sure ... I just know it wont be as awesome as before .. NIN with lights always sets a atmosphere like no other band can .. In daylight the atmosphere wont be right ... Im now kinda hopeing for overcast and thunderstorms .. LOL .. JK
I sense homophobia in your tone.

You are a closed minded whiny ass bitch. Sell your fucking ticket if you're that damn upset and keep your hick ass at home.
I would find it highly amusing if Trent turned round and said he was gay. I could just imagine the colour draining from all the bigoted twats who follow him. I'm surprised they even still like the band now considering the gay sex scene in the Survivalism video... and as for the Discipline video. Well!!

Oh and yet again, I have to agree with the comment in bold.
