Dear Mr. Reznor,
It would appear as though there's an abundance of trolls in the Twitter community. Many of which are making blatantly disgusting comments such as these out of nothing short of sheer envy and jealousy. The Angela Zajac incident was one thing. After I made congratulatory remarks via twitter in regards to your engagement, she responded with mockery. She and people like her are indeed "delusional parasitic assholes" as you described.
However, what you're showing here, just a few random selections, show what a disgusting bunch of people there are on the internet with no respect for their fellow human being, much less someone successful as yourself. I think I speak for all NIN fans when I say that your presence on Twitter and reading your updates has provided a fun, entertaining, enlightening, and even endearing method in which we can all connect with you and with each other. But after seeing remarks like those being made to you, I wouldn't blame you even if you decided to call it quits. Sure, having stalkers must be a hell of an annoyance, but to be presented with messages coming from some human garbage spewing nonsense about you or the woman you're engaged to is absolutely uncalled for.
I think the point I'm trying to make here is that you should do your utmost to ignore the outbursts and negative comments from despicable people who know nothing about you or your personal life. That's not what the true NIN fans are there for. It's like you said once:
"I was telling someone the other day that I was surprised at how respectful the Twitter community has been--but today it looks like a Ku Klux Klan rally...let's report these trolls and clean this up."
That's exactly how it needs to happen. Mr. Reznor, you are a talented, groundbreaking musician with a loyal fanbase that enjoys your work.
And some of the trolls are saying your music is irrelevant.
Wrong. What's irrelevant is the bullshit comments they post while hiding behind a computer monitor.
On a side note, I would like to thank you personally for giving NIN fans an opportunity to say goodbye and enjoy a last tour. Despite all the bitching some people have done about it, I personally consider it a privilege to see you and your band in a stage performance one last time.
Thank you for all you do for us, and I will see you in Charlotte, NC!
We all deeply appreciate you and the entire NIN camp.
