Hi,,
long time lurker and first post.
Just two quick questions :
- I am going to a show with my girlfriend and my brother is going with his (each of us has two tickets under his name). We planned to make a 300$ donation to cnotribute and see a soundcheck. So we will have to get outside to pick up our girlfriends for the show, will it be possible?Has anyone done it? I wanna make sure we won't be stuck in with our four tickets and our 2 girlfriends outside?
- What songs did they play at soundcheck, do they try things out or...?

Thanks for answers and congrats to Trent for the energy he puts in this righteous cause.

BE CAREFUL TRYING THIS OUT.
At Jones Beach, once you're in YOUR TICKET IS VOID. You cannot go out and come back in with the same ticket. They scan it at the door and that's IT, it's no good again if you leave.
One way around this is to buy a cheap ticket and use that as a one-time re-access pass, and then just go to your seat where the closer ticket is.

ProLine4> On the lining up part. Since we were the first concert there was definitively some confusion concerning this. When I got there there wasn't a clear answer but there were several donators standing by the nin presale ticket pickup table. I was talkative and asked around to make sure that other people I was around were also donators. What they told me was some guy associated with the nin camp, TJ or JT something, told them to wait there. He later came back and said due to the short timing for planning and the number of people that donated there were some logistics being worked out. The confusion in my head only really lasted about 10 minutes or because I was hearing information from other donators and do you really believe them etc.. in the end I was in the right spot. Once they were ready for us, somebody came down and ushered us to the front where they looked up each of our names, who donated, on their paperwork and you and your guest got to go through the gate and bypass the presale and ticket holders waiting in line. The venue guys then scanned your tickets and gave people a yellow plastic bracelet, probably venue specific, if you had a GA/Pit ticket or not. I did of course so I got one. I already had my ticket but I would assume when the nin camp is checking off your names on their list and you bought the $1200 package then thats when you'd get your tickets. Then we got ushered on these short school buses, yeah yeah short bus, to the venue and saw nin doing their sound check. The buses were a nice touch because the venue in SB is up this paved road.

Thanks for all the info!! Do you recall if there were any ja.com presale ticket holders in your group? That's where my tix are from.. Just want everything to go smoothly!

I don't remember. I don't think it would be a problem though. The nin staff stood outside the venue and checked off your name from a list of donators and I gave them my printed email receipt, for the donation, at that time. Then I went through the gates and then the venue staff scanned my ticketmaster e-ticket.

Was there a limit as to how many things he would sign? I have 2 items and hope he'll sign both of them. Also why arent the Jane's Camp signing?? Isnt it the NIN/JA tour not just NIN! lol

There wasn't a limit that I knew of. To be honest when I said Trent, Justin and Ilan were nice.. I mean they were reeeaaall nice. I asked politely, during the meet and greet, for them to sign my ticket they did graciously. I got two pics of trent and I, and three with justin, ilan and myself. My guest also got pics of himself and trent, jmj and ilan. They really took their time meeting and talking to everybody (300 & 1k donators) during the meet and greet. I talked with Justin about BS and that I live in Burbank.. he freq visits Burbank cause he lives nearby.. then I talked to Ilan about learning all the music in a short amount of time.

Maybe this will paint a better picture but the M&G was in the GA/Pit area and everybody was standing up because it was right after NiN did their soundcheck and SSSC was setting up their stage for their soundcheck. We were originally in a line to meet Trent but as he walked down the line meeting everybody then you got out of line and met the other band members. Robin didn't come out. I thought maybe I missed him and I looked around. If he did come out then my mistake.

I'm almost positive they'll sign two things. I think Trent understands that this money we're donating doesn't grow on trees and he is doing his part to show the donators a good time.

In my original post a few pages back I kept it positive as it was a privileged to be backstage but when I said I saw Dave shirtless as he and Stephen walked by us they did just that.. walked on by without saying anything. Granted, none of us tried to say anything either but maybe (a) they didn't know it was the group of 1k donators or (b) they're just focusing 3 hours before they perform. winking smiley Either way I wasn't offended and I really didn't want to bring it up as they're probably really nice guys but I figured I'd throw it out there since the question of JA was asked. I gotta imagine they have their coordinators and nin has theirs. With something like the donation happening at the last minute maybe there was a communication loss between the two groups. Who knows.

Maybe you can shed some light on something for me: how do you know where to collect vip passes, do you get emailed or what ?

The backstage passes were given to the 1k donators right after the meet and greet and SSSC did their soundcheck. In an earlier post I mentioned that the nin camp maintains a list of people at that venue who donated (300 and 1k people) by name. Before hand we were told to stand near the nin pre sale table until they called for us. They escorted us by the ticket holders and presale people towards the front. They make sure we were on the list and we went through the gates. Then the venue guys scanned our tickets and we were off to the soundcheck.

What's the order of events? Soundcheck, meet & greet, backstage?

This is an amazing thing! Now, take it one step further. There are over 100,000 people in the United States waiting for transplants. Every day, 18 of them will die because there are not enough organs to go around.

Once you've finished your monetary donation, visit OrganDonor.gov and choose the "Be An Organ and Tissue Donor" link to sign up to become an organ donor. Most states have online registration, so it's really easy to become someone's hero.

I do not know Eric but I know a lot of people like Eric. (I work in the organ donation field.) He does not have to become part of the statistics.

Just want to get something clear

For anyone that had a pre sale pit ticket and then did the $300.00 donation

when you got in to meet Trent etc....are you allowed to stay in the pit for the show or do you have to leave and then line up again for the entry in the presale line.

I plan to do this next week and just wanted to hear from those that did the basic $300.00

and if they were allowed to remain in the pit for the show and not have to leave the venue to line up again

05/23/09 7:38 AM

Well I just woke up and scanned back through some posts....Looks like we're all still asking the same questions. I'm wondering about all that stuff too especially what time to show up. I just wanted to be sure I haven't missed any of the info. I'm planning on bringing a CD to get signed and hope I can get to the mersh table to maybe get a poster before the show. I haven't been to Starlight Theater in ages. Anyone know what the side of stage area is like?

05/23/09 7:48 AM

Hey Everyone, well, it looks like the NIN community is feeling good (for the most part) about this wonderful cause. A friend of mine and I are attending the Charlotte show. We are doing the $1000 package! I AM SO F'ING EXCITED!!! So far, what I have heard from those who have attended has just been great. I have some questions of my own that I am sure will get answered eventually, but if anyone can shed some light, that would be great.

1. When we get our tickets at will call, is there anything in there that deals with the VIP or are there just different lines to be in?
2. What time should we be there? We were at the ATL show and the will call lines were ridiculous! We should have been there with plenty of time to spare and still missed SSSC and part of NIN's set... it was not a happy crowd out there. And, we were lucky, the line behind us was still outrageous, I bet some of them missed NIN entirely. Maybe it is best to just get there when will call opens and avoid any problems.
3. Do we bring our own merch to sign or will there be something provided (sometimes they have posters there to give you)

I think that is all, if anyone will be in Charlotte (I noticed a few posts), give me a PM or something.

Jessica

Damn, if you were doin thin before may, I would have totally donated $1,000 to meet you in Austin. I'll still donate some money. It's great to know bands do thing out of kindness, not out of money these days.

05/23/09 8:26 AM

OK...here's today's dumb question. Are credit cards accepted? No better reason to go into debt than to meet the band, hang out backstage and support a noble effort.

Thanks!

This is awesome and a once in a lifetime opportunity. One question. Would you be able to exit the venue after the informal meet and greet and then re-enter for NIN?

Can't wait for NY!

Thanks

What about the cities they allready played?...Not fair to us, that can afford to donate $300, $1000, or $1200, but cant afford to travel outta state to go to another show...So, what about the cities you guys have allready played that didnt get this wonderful oppretunity?...Like Austin, Atlanta, Phoenix?...U guys should rebook dates in those cities, sell tickets, and for those that went, and had tickets, those tickets be able to be used to get in2 the show, and all that stuff...What bout us?...Id gladly donate $300 if Trent and NIN and JA and SSSC would come back to Austin...PLEASE do make up dates in those cities that didnt get a chance to get in on this great, amazing, selfless thing, and to those who arent able to afford traveling to another state, but can afford to donate, and get a chance to meet Trent...Its only fair!...PLEASE TRENT!...I BEG U!!!

As someone already said, it is this sort of thing that further reinforces how amazing Trent is.
Just submitted for the TO show and I know my fiancee will be ignoring me the entire time Trent is in the vicinity. My own fault for getting her hooked on his music I guess. = )

Can't wait to meet the man and shake his hand after waiting 20 years to meet him!

05/23/09 9:02 AM

I did the $1200 donation deal-- has anyone else done it already-- and if so-- how did it work out for you?

Do you stand in the same line as everyone else?

Any info to help me know what to expect would be awesome!

05/23/09 10:18 AM

I paid and have a receipt for the $1200 package for the Sasquatch Festival tomorrow, yet I've received no e-mail yet to let me know when/where to show up. Anyone else in my shoes? Anyone going tomorrow that has instructions on where to go?

She really does a fantastic job being so friendly and helpful to the fans. During the VIP backstage experience, she was always suggesting something to do, a new vantage point, or just a friendly conversation. I had a hard time hearing her name over all the noise, I think its Sheri?

Anyways, she's the best!
