everyone on this forum missed the point. Trent has basically said those with money get treated better/prioritized, and I think that is a fundamentally flawed view point. Either you agree that is right or wrong. That's your call to make. He reached out to fans, and broke his promise mid-tour. I just thought Trent was a better person than that...

what's wrong with that? if you pay 1000 or 300 dollars for a good cause (and i mean helping eric) why trent shouldn't treat those guys who paid better than a guy who just won a twitter contest without doing anything special (except being at the right place at the right moment)?

and excuse me... do the twitter contest winners get a FREE ticket to the show? isn't it enough? some people just can't accept something more important (the whole eric charity auction) occured right after the twitter contest...

I think the whole donation thing is really cool, and i'm glad NIN or Trent is doing it. Thanks! It's so beautiful to see that a community can really pull together for a good cause. And, really, the people who are somehow having an issue with this should really just be happy with a FREE ticket!! I guess it would be sad not to see the band backstage, but you should be greatful for winning!

A backstage pass that doesn't get you backstage is a piece of paper. Maybe it's a piece of paper that very few other people have (which is cool), but if it doesn't actually afford the holder backstage access, then it doesn't fit the definition of a backstage pass. Try using logic instead of poorly reasoned emotional arguments.

it pretty much qualified you as a jerk. It also showed how overly emotional you're being in your response to the fact that a couple of fans were upset that they didn't what they thought they were going to get.

I'm not overly emotional...there just way too many stupid people in todays society. I'm sorry your brain can't process that the post about the plague was a joke and I was being fecicious. Sometimes I forget there are many simpletons on this board. Thanks for proving that.

the reeper, despite my poor english i didn't miss any point at all... i know what the words "backstage pass" mean... BUT people who won the twitter contest should peacefully accept the fact trent reznor decided to give real backstage access only to donors... all because of eric's case, i guess. because you can't convince people to pay such a lot of money (the $1000 vip package) for something you can just win standing in front of a computer. so i understand the disappointment, even if 15 pages of resentment seem too much to me... c'mon, you can be sad about not hanging backstage but it's not the end of your lives. ok, who had something to bitch about got his opportunity... can we all move along?

p.s. anyway, when i read the backstage stories of the 1000 and 1200 donors i seem to understand that there's no *real* backstage experience even for them... they have dinner with other fans and then, after the show, if they don't sneak into the vip tents they are just told to leave... but you know what? if a guy who's spent all that money doesn't complain why should some lucky guy who got a FREE ticket and a cool memorabilia?

Also, I really don't have anything against TR. He deals with a shitload of bullshit and I can understand why he'd be pissed. I'm just seeing a lot of self-righteousness from posters on this thread and it's kind of annoying.
