Dear Trent

Thank you for the most awesome and brilliant show in London. Have seen NIN six times and that gig was the best. Thank you. I loved meeting you, Robin, Justin and Ilan and thank you for taking the time to make my evening so magical and special. I have wanted to meet you for many years and being hugged by you was just the icing on top of the cake!

Good luck with everything and all the best to you and Mariqueen. May all your dreams and wishes come true for you both in the future.

I hope the trolls will piss off and leave you both alone!

Take care and keep on rocking.
Looking forward to your new work
With love
Linda x

You're the best Trent thumbs up

07/28/09 4:39 PM

Wow! Its always good to hear from the Boss. Can't say that I heard anything I wasn't already aware of, but I do like the,"My best work is yet to come - watch and see." comment. Looking forward to seeing NIN on the 28th in Chicago. Hey Trent, thanks for not disappearing entirely.

I'll join the multitudes today even though I tend to remain a lurker --

Thanks, Trent, for all the things you've tried and experimented with over the years. It's refreshing to see someone who continues to be an innovator even 20 years into his career... its rare!

Even though the twitter experiment didn't work out because of the unfortunate and obsessed few, I have enjoyed the contact with your fan-base that you've had in various ways (be it twitter, forum posts, photoblog posts, etc). For that reason, I was delighted to see this post... I thought it might be a while before we heard from you again due to twitter burnout.

I won't be able to make it to one of the final shows, unfortunately. Good luck with those and with whatever's ahead. smiling smiley

You are totally right about Twitter being the best place for you to communicate with your fans. I was always excited to read your Tweets. It's a shame that these fucking trolls have to totally ruin a good thing just for the sake of their own selfish interests. I suppose the old saying goes, "one bad apple spoils the cart".

Anyway, thank-you for the music, the concerts, and the startings of the NIN community - which today, along with all the other members, I am proud and happy to be a part of.

Keep up the great work. You know that many of the things you say comes as gospel to us devoted fans, so please keep teasing with ambiguous statements referring to the future. winking smiley

the show at the london o2 was amazing. cheerz!

good luck with all future plans.

i eagerly await all things nin related!

Tr

I'd like to thank you for the explanations above. It really gives your true perspective on things. As a fan, it really sucks and am sadden to see you, your family, friends and of course your fiance' being brutally attacked for some "sick" reasons. I am glad though you decided to keep nin.com. Even through all of this. A good choice for the fans. I hope you will continue to pop in now and then. (its nice to hear from you)

Anyway, looking forward to hearing/seeing what you produce/create in the future.

Thanks for touring. Manchester was fucking amazing, although I was totally nervous with the M&G you totally understood, despite my awkwardness for the photo...

As for Twitter, well, a couple of cunts always have to ruin a good thing. But really, if you were getting repulsive shit like that from some ignorant sub human fucking vermin then I really don't blame you for dropping it.

Excited to see what you pull out of the bag next. Good luck, and God Speed, I eagerly await whatever comes next.

Please let me know how the paperless TicketMaster shit goes from a user perspective - I got talked into it.

Tom Waits' tour last year used the same system. It was kinda boring, nothing to freak out about. You get to the venue, get in line. When it's time to go in, you give your credit card to some person with a small machine attached to their waist. They run the CC through it, out spits a piece of paper, you get both back and in you go, after a quick run (or jaunt?) through any security as well.

Took about 5min to do the whole thing.

Sadly as others have noted, you get no ticket stub. Just a flimsy bit of paper.

Make sure you don't do this with any person with a machine though! :-) Look for a badge and that they're standing right in front of the door. ;-)

Trent.

Thank you for your art and music. I truly can not imagine my life without it. When i read you were headlining VFest I almost fell off my chair! How lucky am I to live in Toronto.

Although I likely never meet you. I feel like I know you from your tweets, updates, music and interviews. It's been an absolute pleasure to see that you seem so happy. Anyone who wishes you ill will is not a fan.

Thank you for you continued dedication to your fans. Your work has changed my life and many others for the better.

look forward to all the great ways things you'll be doing in the future!

I tried twice for the tix but alas oh well
Shit happens.
People suck.
Get back to your life, work and love. etc... etc...
dare I say, keep on keeping on

Trent,

I can't wait to see what the future holds for you as an artist. It's been a thrilling ride so far, and like countless others, I'll never be able to express my gratitude for all the years you've shared so much of yourself through your music. There's something special in your work - it encourages people to change and heal. While I'm a receiver of a lot of that changing and healing, I'm also as proud of you as a den mother! You're a rare one.

I somehow managed to get tickets to the last four shows, and I'm honored & humbled to participate in your touring send-off. Thanks for everything. Wishing you and yours much health & happiness.

Sorry so sappy.
love,
diane

Ive been wondering where your Twitter went. I was almost thinking the same thing, about why you deleted your account. There are a lot of haters out there that came out when the news broke out that you were engaged to MM (a fellow Kagay-anon? wohoo!! love.) Thanks for the clearing this up. I do believe that these people really dont have a life and that they should get one, real fast! They are on the verge of panic since there are now a lot of changes in your life. And these crazed fans just cant take it, so they talk retarded shit about you and MM.

I love your tweets and I miss them, sadly. But nin.com's still and will always be here, so its still good.

As for the Manila Tour, I am so there next week! Will be seeing you and the rest of the guys on the 5th of August.

"My best work is yet to come - watch and see." ------ YEEEEESSSSSS!!!

07/28/09 5:07 PM

Thanks for everything Trent. It is nice to know you don't think all of us are that psycho. See you soon in LA and we will def keep listening.

07/28/09 5:13 PM

...and i am sorry if i wasn´t respectful with you both at twitter and nin.com
please don´t banned me, ok?

please come to south america on the next time or let me know it very early, so that i can go abroad to see you play (i would do that!) tongue sticking out smiley

most fans are very nice here, you should be proud of them!

what a big note! XD

07/28/09 5:13 PM

Sorry to hear about your Twitter troubles Trent, unfortunately the minority will always ruin it for the rest of us. I can't imagine what receiving that kind of hate is like.

With regards to the tour I was lucky enough to be at the London O2 Arena show and I can simply say it was fantastic, easily one of my favourite tour experiences ever. Thank you for all the great live shows you've put out and (I know it isn't the end but) thank you for all the wonderful music you've given the world.

07/28/09 5:16 PM

Hey Trent,

Thank YOU so much for all you've done; you've gone above and beyond for your fans, and I have nothing but respect and admiration for all your hard work. It's very cool to observe your bliss with Q; it is amazing how finding the right person completely alters your perspective, isn't it? May you both be blessed with peace, joy, and mini-Rez's (if that's in the cards).

As for leaving Twitter, totally understandable. While we enjoyed your updates, your peace of mind takes precedence. Unfortunately, people in the public eye will always be subject to twisted stalker filth; as others have stated, karma is a bitch, and I truly hope she takes a big bite out of stalker ass.

I hope you stay in touch via nin.com; we don't expect daily, weekly, or even monthly updates, just a shout every now and then to let us all know what you're up to is enough.

And although I wasn't lucky enough for tix for NYC, I really look forward to your future endeavors....could there be such a thing as a NIN lullaby? Guess we'll have to wait and see!winking smiley

Best of luck to you Trent, and thanks and best wishes to Robin, Justin and Ilan.

*waving goodbye*

Edit: A friend of mine wants me to help him port an app to like six different platforms. Besides me having prior uh commitments, just not doing that.

Porting between platforms (mac, pc, linux) is a nightmare in and of itself. I've heard mobile platforms are worse.

On a tangent, I'm going to be in Chicago for both dates. If anyone wants to meetup and have coffee and bullshit about politics, tech and other stuff PM me.

I'm going to be a bit of an asshole, if you want to hang out to get trashed/high/do other retarded shit don't bother. As I don't do drugs, and don't drink (anymore).

I'm always open to smart bullshitting sessions. It's fun and it's something that you do often in North Dakota, as there is very little to do otherwise smiling smiley

trent,

thanks for having the balls to say what you think
it's actually annoying that every single time you decide to change your
brand of toilet paper ...it ends up in rolling stone magazine, countless
websites, and winds up being mocked a million times by fuckin trash like
andreaurbanfox.

but, it's worth it. i like knowing what artist you think has sold out...
or what you're thinking...so please continue doing what you've been doing.

I am going to miss the random posts, some of them made me laugh when I really needed it (discovering that you have an incurable life altering disease is not the easiest thing to handle at times). Shame a few had to ruin that. I consider anyone who judges another person based on outward appearances to be a knuckle dragger, whether it be skin color, size or clothing choice, etc. I look forward to seeing the Wiltern show and really wish Ryan (rdm) and I could have made echoplex but even being on the order page before 5 PM was not enough. I look forward to what is to come. Thank you for the last 20 years.

I knew (the troll) on last.fm before she went fucking nuts-which happened sometime around the news of Trent's engagement. Before that, she seemed like a nice person, outspoken & even funny, in a bitchy but cool way. She was on my friends list on last.fm, FFS! I was shocked to see her spiral down into trollism & utter madness within a few weeks.

LOL.

It happened to a lot of fantardgirls.

Sorry, I edited the name out because they don't need the attention.

Sorry that happened to you, Trent. The world is filled with them. What you (and your fans) did for Eric was incredibly kind. No good deed goes unnoticed.

Hurry up, quit touring and tie that knot, you!
