Not if you're a KM/JD fan. It breaks your heart to pieces.

Joke aside, good to hear what exactly is going to happen in post-NIN-live era. Can't wait to hear/see the results. Good luck with the projects and enjoy the processes of making said projects "real".

Cheers.

I'm a fucking genius, I already said that he would work with his girl in the thread about what should Trent do next and I also made a bad joke about a zombie tour with dead celebrities/musicians including Michael Jackson around ten days before he died. Next step: winning the lotto. XD

Remember when he was looking for a female singer à la Sade for a music project via tapes to be sent to a nothing address. Does anyone know if those songs were written and then canned?
I also remember something about Trent working with Aaliyah, maybe it was just a rumor but I would swear that I read somewhere that they met at the VMAs and talked about working together, and I also remember a interview where she said that she loved NIN and learned about the band because her brother was a fan. I think it could have been a great collaboration. sad smiley

Third post, sorry.

I just wanted to say that I hope that this new project doesn't turn to be Trent's version of Corgan's Zwan. I hope that now that he is happy he doesn't start to write songs about rainbows, unicorns or Jesuschrist. Please. :/

Thank you Trent for all your wonderful music!

I am extremely excited to hear the upcoming projects smiling smiley you have been such a huge inspiration in my life through the good times and the bad. I've got a number of things lining up to start working on post NIN tour already, including a secret music project outside nine inch nails I'm very excited about. I can't tell you anything about it yet or who's involved but I'll give you a hint: I'm marrying one of the participants.

More soon (maybe).

Not to hate on any and all strategies used to engage fans, but I think that this should've been the way to go from day one.

Either way, the tweets were lolz.

Guess that'd be something completely unrelated to this MetalHammer piece of "news"/rumours/FUDFUDFUD.

Metal Hammer has heard from a reliable source that Nine Inch Nails will release a new album soon

While at Sonisphere, Hammer was hanging out with a good friend who has been working on the Metallica tour (and so was at Sonisphere with the NIN roadies/techs etc). This insider informed us that there is “a new Nine Inch Nails album, completely finished and ready to go.”

After he confirmed that he will simply put it online when it’s finished, a la ‘The Slip’, he said that while he himself had not heard the album, it was being described as “sprawling, epic, more like ‘The Fragile’.”

Keep an eye on www.nin.com as further official details will doubtless appear there first.

Cannot wait to see what you and Q come up with!! And all the other things you have planned! And I'm especially looking forward to the Chicago shows later this month! I'm just so glad that my first time seeing NIN earlier this year didn't have to be my last!

And don't forget about our NIN reunion tour in about 5-10 years! LMAO!

I just don't see when Trent would have had time for all that. He's been touring nearly non-stop since The Slip came out, right?

08/10/09 12:30 PM

True, but keep in mind that while touring for the last four years he also wrote and recorded Year Zero, Ghosts I-IV and The Slip. And, since getting sober, he seems to have become quite the work-a-holic so I don't see a new album almost immediately after the final shows next month (another "holiday surprise" perhaps?) as being out of the realm of possibility.

08/10/09 1:07 PM

Some one asked him if he had plans on releasing something at the meet and greet Q&A. He said yes! Something like a 10yr anniversary Fragile. smiling smiley I always thought The Great Below would sound great with a female. smiling smiley

Oh the wait to hear new news is going to kill us all!

08/10/09 2:14 PM

Yay! And I'd love it if you cleared up this Metalhammer business... what with them saying the new NIN album is finished and ready to go. We all flipped our lids on twitter this morning! @_@

08/10/09 3:31 PM

Exciting news! grinning smiley Apparently I've not been the only one thinking that a team-up with Trent and the future Mrs Reznor would be interesting winking smiley
I duly noted that "What are you afraid of" by West Indian Girl was played as the first song in the background music set at the Madrid gig (same at all the gigs, I guess) and couldn't help to put on a big smile! Happy that Trent's happy and happy because that's such a great song. My boyfriend thought it was Cocteau Twins at first, maybe not the first one to think that...?
Anyway, looking forward to the new project outside of NIN!

08/10/09 3:39 PM

Hopefully Coldplay is involved as well.

08/10/09 3:51 PM

wow, so people pointing out the sonny and cher and kylie comparisons...

we have no idea what this music is going to sound like, i am just glad trent's still making music and exploring other avenues.

also, can i also point out a husband / wife fronted band that happen to be one of my favourite bands... Arcade Fire.
