OnslaughtSix posted:This is true. And it's easily one of those things. I'm also pretty sure that the intonation in my bridge is all fucked up--plus I've replaced the original bridge with an inferior one. It's my only functioning electric guitar, and it's a shitty Kramer from like 1987. It's older than I am. And it was apparently shitty then. (I'm also liable to blame my playing style--I think I pull the strings slightly when I play power chords.)
(I don't like the shape, though, it's a Strat-style and I generally can't play "standard" shapes like that, Les Pauls or SGs for very long stretches of time.) I really intend to buy something in the $600-$1000 range,
If you are using really light strings you may be tugging on them a bit more than you would with heavier strings. Heavier gauge strings would be harder to bend, but might clear up some issues.
How come the "standard" guitar shapes are hard for you to play for long? There are tons of great options in the 600-1000 range tho, you'll have lots of options there.
As far as HDTA vs NIN, I could care less if there are similarities. Of course there are. I don't expect Brian Wilson to make Pet Sounds or Smile and then turn around and record something like Slayer's "Hell Awaits"
