This one makes me feel kind of sad because it seems to be about the massive amount of hate that T & Q get from "fans" although they're trying to be upfront and honest and happy together.

It immediately brought to mind "Under Ice" by Kate Bush, for some reason. Would I buy it? Sorry. No. I would, however, buy the video of "The Space In Between". Love the cinematography. I also like the instrumentation and production of the song itself. I like the way the vocals are almost on the same level as the instruments instead of being as out front as they could be, but then I like the concept of vocals as instrument. Still unsure how I feel about the lyrics. They're a bit simple. Not that simple is always a bad thing. ETA: "The Space In Between" has a good "fuck song" feel to it, too. I get a seductive and sinister vibe; the video is beautifully shot and Mariqueen's vocals weave sinuously around the instruments. I really cannot wait for the EP's release, I truly enjoy what I've heard so far. Re. lyrics; my take, if anyone is interested, is Trent and Mariqueen attempting to find a happy medium after all is said and done. The blood and wounds represent the emotional "beating" they've suffered at the hands of, um, cynical people. Maybe the fire represents purification, and, you know, from the ashes rises the phoenix. A rebirth, so to speak. Of course, I'm most likely way out in left field, but that's where I usually am.

Loved the song too <3 The ending is abrupt, but I imagine it sounds much better when played with the rest of the EP. I love watching the part where her hair melts and falls. At around two minutes, part of the background music kinda reminds me of the last half of the Porter Ricks remix of TDTWWA. Pretty awesome. Is the wedding gift knife a red herring? Looks like they were shot/assasinated. Speedway on the tv ('Blinding light illuminates the scene') - was it a gambling debt ? what was the document by the candle ? Atticus and the woman on the phone - detectives/murderers/gangland ? The broken glass close by and the localised bloodstain around Mariqueen, and the candle suggest she was sitting there at the foot of the bed for some while reading the document when shot. The tap running might suggest Trent had run the tap but got called back into the room. He may have been kneeling when shot as the blood is so localised. Point blank range ? Why was the woman on the phone in a light-hearted mood ? So many scenarios. This will run and run !
