The page goes on to cite a lot of more non-traditional "concept album" systems which don't necessarily need a progressive narrative thread. It doesn't have to be Operation Mindcrime or Ziltoid The Omniscient to be a concept album. Sometimes it's like Infinity.

Isn't The Slip's concept about relevance (or fear of a lack of relevance, more specfically) and aging? I think Trent discussed it (very) briefly in a couple of recent interviews, and listening to the lyrics it's what struck me immediately. Or would that be more of a theme?

I just saw it become clearer in The Slip, but you're right about it being present from before The Slip was released. Also, I'm pretty glad that he's found a safe belt with film scores. So excited for the Dragon Tattoo score.

As for kinda I want to, fucking, drugs and being different in general. Just my two cents
