What i hate and this boils down to a pet peeve in general (persistance) but when it's the SAME calls ALL the fucking time, when i was in school i had a couple friends who were so damn eager to talk to you that when you had first stepped in the door after getting home your phone would ring...no fucking time to even breathe or take a shit that's when i tell people to fuck off and stop calling.

I really hate the phone in general though... i mostly only use it for planning with my best bud or if i have to get a hold of someone people who seem to be computer illiterate and don't have some way of text-based communication. Also, getting me to order pizza is always a chore i just won't do it.

Had an ex-gf that i used to always talk on the phone with needless to say there are many reasons why she's now my fucking nemesis but everytime the phone rings it makes me cringe because it reminds me of how much she used to call me... it's like a reflex based on a traumatic experience. Do. Not. Like. It!

I hate it too. But I think my hatred goes even beyond just answering calls or talking on the phones. I hate texting too. I hate it, I detest it, I really have an awful dreadful feeling everytime I think I have to get something done over the phone. I lost my phone so many times, I had to buy new phones so many, many times, I really think cell phones are terrible awful devices. I'd like an iphone. I think that one I would actually enjoy. I get scared of losing it though. A phone lasts me 2 months and that's it! Not very smart but it's become a pattern. I just repel phones altogether and all services provided. I wish I didn't have one. But out of necessity, life goes on, I deal.

but i wanted to be your friend tongue sticking out smiley

i hate talking on the phone and that's a big part of my responsibilities at work. It sucks. I hate when people ask me things I don't know the answers to although I inevitably make them up. I hate parents/students who keep me on the phone for more than a few minutes.

I don't really like talking to my friends on the phone either. I'm a talker but I hate when I'm trapped on the phone with someone who talks just to hear the sound of their voice. I hate when there's no type of conversation going on. It's like, really? You just spent 45 minutes telling me one story 5 different times?? Or is it necessary that you need to tell me about your trip to Wal Mart?

I try to keep phone conversations direct and to the point.

i like answering the phone, especially when the caller id says blocked number and it's a telemarketer. i let them babble on and on, then tell them i am not interested, wait for them to follow up with more babble, then ask them where they got my number and hang up before answer.

Phones were one of the only things I had no remorse for destroying. I used to have a phone graveyard.

I actually bought a Blackberry because I knew I wouldn't break it. Only because it could do other things than be annoying.

I'm pretty much at the point where I hate any form of digital communication.

Why? People don't communicate anymore. I just deactivated my Facebook account for that reason.

You're lucky to keep a persons attention for more than a few seconds before they fuck off randomly mid conversation.

I can't think of many points in a real social situation where a person would just walk off mid sentence or get up from the middle of dinner and leave to do something else.

Should the internet or phone conversations be any different?

I'm going to stop here before I deviate anymore. But I really, really fucking hate phones for every reason I stated and every reason everybody before me stated.

I intend to force people into social situations if they want anything from me anymore hah.

As said in the initial post, we're growing apart as a society.

I prefer text. I don't mind talking on the phone but, only if I have something urgent to say that I can't get out fast enough in a text message. Phone conversations make me nervous and there's sometimes a lot of silence on them. Mostly from my end.

There's nothing worse when you don't know how to end a call either... you know when so and so keeps you on the phone long enough to end up at the point of just hearing each other breathe and there's nothing more to say yet they don't want to let you go and you can't think of something polite to say to end the call or you don't have it in you to just hang up, heaven forbid you do and they call back only expecting more of the same.

Now those are situations that make me very uncomfortable to be using a phone hence adding more fuel to the fire of despising them.

I hate talking on the phone, i can probably count the number of times that i have talked on the phone to my best friend who i have known since high school.

I don't talk to my family on the phone anymore. We just email each other now. Plus I hate my phone company so I try to use my phone as little as possible. They make you think everything is included, but then you find out it's not after you signed the stupid contract.
