I'm thinking about growing my tomatoes and beans upside down so I can avoid building a structure for them to climb. They got a lot bigger than I expected last year (especially the beans) and latched onto a nearby tree. I'm thinking I'll just hang planters off the eaves of the garage and use the garden space for smaller plants.
I'm getting there with the raking--all the snow's melted, finally and I have about 1/2 the side yard left to go. I can only do little bits at a time--makes my arm hurt and my hand swell up!
I was thinking about starting a garden near a nuclear plant to see if I can get 600 pound heads of lettuce, 22 foot long cucumbers, & corn I can use for shade trees.
(LOL.....I'm kidding, but I couldn't resist. I like that there is a good discussion going on in the current events without name calling. There is nothing wrong with disagreeing with one another.)
i can't add anything to this thread because even though its been in the 50's the last 4 days the beds are still covered in snow because we had THAT much snow this year. so its still a big mystery what survived and will grow. i'm SO jealous of all you in nice weather that can garden already.
