Hey, maybe we need Trent to write a workout book and make a workout CD to go with it. That will get everyone here to start working out more.

"Sweat with Trent!" Now available in stores!

i don't totally agree with you, but i do partially. i've been working out consistantly for about 5 years, and have never loved it, until about a year ago when i started cycling. i used to do it more as a maintenence thing so as not to gain weight and to improve my allover health. yeah, i know it's good for you, but i still hated it and did it anyway. even now, on days when i have to hit the treadmill because it's rainy and i can't ride my bike, i loathe it. you're so correct when you say to find something that keeps you excited. that's why i love cycling. there are so many different variables that alter your workout, such as heat, humidity, wind, hills, etc. as for the workout cd, i have 3 different NIN playlists on my ipod for treadmill, treadclimber, and bike. music always makes me workout harder. Sweat With Trent...lulz. i'd definitely pay to see that.

I think Trent has a personal trainer. Which is The Best Motivator.

I had one for a while. Tatyana. Nobody could make me work out at 8:00 a.m. on a god damned Saturday except Tatyana. Nobody could make me do stupid shit like the "crab walk" except Tatyana. Super sets on Saturday morning? How about "BITE ME?" Don't tell Tatyana that shit! She'll kick your ass!

I respectfully disagree - I don't love working out or eating well, but I do it because it's helped bring my cholesterol down 50 points; it's a better alternative to drinking when I'm upset; it helps my stress levels enormously; and in the end I look good, too.

I somaticize my stress in really bad ways, so if I don't work out, I'm a wreck. Even so, it's still hard for me to get to the gym. But I know that if I want this body of mine to last into my geriatric years, I have to be good to it now, and that means I should get to the gym!

Amen!

i don't care for going to the gym because i don't feel motivated once i get there. it seems more like a fashion show and i don't have time for that nonsense. martial arts and bike riding work for me so for the last 8 years that's what i've been doing to stay in shape. i don't get involved in the heavy impact martial arts styles like san shou anymore because i like my bones unbroken, but kung-fu, tai chi and wushu work nicely.

i take a daily prenatal vitamin because i was borderline anemic in the past. i drink plenty of water and i'm not a big fan of soda or coffee. i eat whatever i want when ever i want, but in moderation. on the rare occasion i over-indulge, i compensate for that in my next workout.

I swim and do taekwondo, which works for me. I watch what I eat, in the most roundabout way possible, but I'm not going to gorge. Its not the exercise that's the problem, its getting up off my arse that I don't like doing.

One of the key things I work on these days is having lean muscle mass. Back when I played baseball, I had a lot more muscle (and looked damn good in my uniform I might addwinking smiley) The problem is that it takes a lot more work to maintain.

So, now I run a mile every other day and stay away from sugar as much as possible. For my upper body I stay away from weights, opting instead to doing incline push-ups. The advantage of incline push-ups is that they also benefit the abs. I also do other ab exercises, but try to make sure that I change things up to "shock" the muscle.

As far as my diet, I have eggs in the morning (great energy and metabolism boost), lots of chicken during the week and red meats during the weekend(my reward), and my favorite thing of all- cabernet on a near daily basis. As some of you probably know, wine is full of antioxidants and is great for your heart. Just don't overdo it!

There's no fashion show at MY gym.

i do pilates two to four times a week
started doing a spinning class but i am not sure if i like it, after the first class i couldn't go back for a week and i feel like my instructor is kind of a jerk. she also plays the WORST music... but i really need to work on my cardio
this week i am starting jeet kune do once a week as well

personally i need to be in a class to make sure that i'll go and get a good workout and just go in general
i do love pilates tho, i always feel so amazing after, i do it more for fun than for fitness

After I gave up drinking a few years ago I lost 3.5 stone in about 4 weeks! Probably not healthy to lose weight that quickly but I can't say I miss it. I eat fairly healthy as well now but probably a bit too much red meat (I need one vice though).

I go to the gym about 3 times a week and do weights and some HIIT cardio.

I need to change my routine soon though because when I say I do weights what I mean is I use the weight machines. Anyway I've built up enough strength so I can use the weights without feeling stupid next to the guys who have been doing it for years!

I've been thinking of doing some pilates as well recently. My spine is 'irregularly' bent just at the bottom and apparently pilates is good for posture and the muscles around that area of your body. I'm a little afraid of ending up in a class with a group that consists only of women aged 50+. I might feel a little out of place in that environment!

I've had to stop running as well recently since I've got a bad knee. I've been trying to get an x-ray done for a while but my doc seems content just to leave me on anti-inflammatories despite the fact it's been hurting for over a year! However, this could be a blessing in disguise as I live on the South Side of Sheffield so have the Peak District on my doorstep. I might have to invest in a bike and join a riding club in order to take advantage of the locale!
