I am telling ya, trying cycling too. You have to mix up your workouts though, otherwise eventually you will hit a plateau. When that happenes you have to play with reducing calories even more and exercising more/differently.

As far as your hamsting tear, I hope you are icing it/have it wrapped and elevated. Also, see a dr. to get some anti-inflamitory meds or steroids to bring down the swelling. Regular things at the store won't help much.

The major factors in hamstring injuries are low levels of fitness and poor flexibility. Muscle fatigue and not warming up properly can contribute to hamstring injuries. Never stretch before a work out only after otherwise you can tear things. A correct warm up is doing some brisk plyometrics/short jog/jumping jacks/ect then dive into your workout. Stretch after when you muscles are nice and warm/gooey.

I'm addicted to the gym, and all together in the past year or so have lost twenty pounds.

A little bit of hope to those of you struggling to see a difference in your body, and the scale isn't budging.

I've been plateaued for a few months now. My counselor measured me last night and I've lost like 7 1/2 inches, in that time. 6 from my stomach. I'm pretty much walking and that's it with occasional toning so...

I've lost a grand total of 34 inches over my whole body in the last year so...

Hang in there and keep working at it slow and steady guys and gals you can do it!

Congrats! That is fantastic!

I've been trying to shed 10 lbs, and I've plateaued. I actually lead a holistic health group, and the nurse/therapist who co-leads with me gave a few tips and some protein powder to add to my diet to help keep my blood sugar steady throughout the day. I'm hoping it helps this road block.

im at the point where i cant make myself go to the gym. i know once i shed a few lbs i'll feel better about it, because i feel better about it and look forward to it, but i just cant quite get there.

the way i feel right now is id rather have my cervix scraped than work out. i hate it that much.

Haha, I have visions of lines of people...one for the gym, one for pap smears.

Gyms just don't work for some people. You will have to find out what works best for you.

If anyone's interested - I found this arms workout by Tracy Anderson (Madonna's trainer):

Fitness arms workout

I looked at it and thought it would be pretty easy, especially since I work out my arms about 3x/week already. I started with the intermediate today and holy crap! It kicked my ass. I was STRUGGLING by the end, even though the whole thing only took about 15 minutes (and I was only using the recommended 3 lb dumbbells). I'll definitely be doing it again smiling smiley

Ive reached the point where I need to work out super long to feel anything. I dunno I could to afford to lose a little bit more, but now I can do lots of stuff without breaking a sweat. realllly annoying
