so my little guy was asking about his birthday (in 5 months) and when i remembered he would be 5 i started crying. he asked if he could wipe the tears off...i told him he should taste it, it is salt water...and he asked "are there sharks there, then?". rock. on.
parents to be and/or new parents: try not to wish away their first 5 years. it goes so fast it is shocking. and the relating you do in those first 5 years is unreal. i am not saying it is abnormal to say/think/feel "i can't wait until you are older", but the reality of how fast each moment goes is just shocking. so enjoy as much as you can.
