I love all dogs & whatever breed I have at the time is usually my favorite. That being said...

Weimaraners are the best!!! They have so much personality. My boy, Poi, is almost 80 lbs and follows me everywhere. I personally like that in a dog. After all, he is my best friend!

aww, I met a sheepdog yesterday! he hugged me ^_^ (and I almost fell down, he was so big haha)

well, I don't care about breeds, I like all dogs. I just don't think I'd like to have one, I'm not sure if I could live with the barking and the smell... I'm more of a cat person

Yeah, I love all dogs no matter what the breed.

I owned a basset hound for 12 years, her name was Lucy; she died of cancer.
She was silly, stubborn as hell, and so happy just to be by my side...I miss her.

Right now I have a golden retriever, and a bichon frise.
The golden is, without question, the most intelligent dog I've ever owned; he's also loyal and affectionate and loves everyone. He's also a great watchdog, although he would never bite anyone. And he is gorgeous, especially when the sunlight catches his coat. He does shed quite a bit, but dog hair doesn't bother me unless it's in my food.

My bichon is a comedian, a very happy-go-lucky little dude. Loves to race around the house and bounce off the couches, play with the cats, and has to be in the same room as me when I'm home. High maintenance coat, though...he does not shed, because his coat is so dense that it traps the hair, so he has to be brushed every other day to prevent dreads. He has to be trimmed once a month, bathed every two weeks. He's well worth it.

Without my guys, I would be so lost...I love them to pieces.

A Newfoundland.
They are awesome dogs.

^^^AWWW my sister has Bassetts grinning smiley they are ornery and adorable. And I LOVE those big rolly polly newfoundlands smiling smiley

My previous dog was a Cocker Spaniel She was a tan party mix like the one in the attached link (A Rare Sweet tempered one who was a sweet little snuggle bug!)

My friend Joyce and her hubby breed and train (for agility) Pembrooke Welsh Corgis in their spare time. They are adorable and well tempered little buggers (the dogs not J&M) Although eye rolling smiley smiling smiley

But THESE are my all time favorites: The Irish Wolfhound. (They remind me of the dog from Fraggle Rock) and they are sweet Gentle Giants that are great with kids.

I've posted about them in other threads, but I second the Irish Wolfhounds in a HUGE way. I've had two, one who died in 2008 and one was a foster that went to her permanent home, and am getting a puppy in the winter. Yeah, they are as big as those pictures, but they are so mellow and kinda lazy and are SO much fun. I seriously think your heart just clicks with one breed in particular, and for me its the wolfhound.

And I've always had rescued greyhounds, my current one is 14 years old! Another pretty lazy but also pretty zany breed!

I had some interest in Irish Wolfhounds, too. But I think nowadays if I was to get a dog I would just go to the shelter and get a mutt smiling smiley

Oh man, how could I forget the gentle giants!
I adore them, and I would love to have a posse (pack?) of giant breeds; Great Dane, Newfie, Irish Wolfhound, Giant Schnauzer, Mastiff...the only sad thing is that they don't live very long due to their size. sad smiley

Yeah, greyhounds are awesome dogs...I used to work for a boarding kennel my friend owns, and I got to see and interact with all kinds of dogs. One of my favorites was Donnie, a three-legged greyhound (lost a leg to cancer) who had not a clue that he was disabled; his best buddy was a cocker spaniel who stuck by his side until the end.

The thing about greyhounds though is that I *think* they need a lot of exercise and I wouldn't rescue one if I couldn't supply the exercise. I don't know...are they really hyper and energetic?

My two Basset Hounds.
A very special breed. It takes a special kind of person to own them too. They are stubborn, slow to house break, garbage eaters and will eat anything period, this includes anything. I caught the tri color one on my kitchen table eating my steak and gravy, her ears were in the gravy immersed I should say.
They also typically have weight issues that lead to back problems later in life. Both of my girls are on diets but the red and white one weighs in at 69 lbs. They may look small but they are actually very large dogs. If you have the patience to own one go for it smiling smiley Basset hounds are not for everyone, they are a special breed and I do not see many around, at least where I live.

Awww I LOVE BASSETS!!! I have one too! His name is Omar.
