hm, thought I'd post here. I do not have the flu or anything else like that but what I do have feels like the flu or a really bad cold when it flares up. I'm in the early stages of a connective tissue disease or so my doctor says. I've been sick physically as in joint pain, fatigue and sun problems for two years now. The diagnosis? It's a big question mark and for something like this you do not go in and get a test done and get diagnosed, it can take years sometimes to get diagnosed, the lucky ones which aren't so lucky get diagnosed in the E.R with a very severe form of the disease.
here are the ones my doctor is considering and watching me for further development that would require treatment with immune suppressing drugs if it becomes active enough to give us it's name.
1. Lupus
2. Rheumatiod arthritis
3. Seronegative spondylitis arthopathy-this is a new addition added recently, akylosis spondylitis due to the fact my lumbar is straight and has been since I was a teenager.
It's rather stressful not knowing which of these it is. He's pretty certain it's not Rheumatoid but cannot rule that out since I have joint pain sometimes on both sides of my body. I also run low grade fevers when I flare and get mouth ulcers. I match Lupus more than anythign else but it's not showing up in my blood. I had lupus screening test done called the antinuclear antibody test and it was a low titer amount 1:80. Something's not right but sooner or later we'll find out I guess.
Here's a picture of what happens to me when I'm in the sun, I have no makeup on and it's an ugly picture but here it is anyways.
These are blisters btw. they went away in about two days thankfully and did not scar.
here's a picture of what I commonly get on my face just from being outside
this looks like the malar rash seen in Lupus but not sure since I've also been diagnosed with roscea. The doctors themselves are confused over it.
I'd rather have the flu or anything else besides this. I feel like a vampire, shunning the sun, having to wear 100 spf sunscreen...gee, maybe I am? LOL
Was the NIN flu swine flu? anyone know?
