I was sick between last Wednesday and yesterday. I was told it was "parainfluenza", but fuck that, I'm pretty sure it was the swine flu.

It fucking sucked. Everything hurt, I could barely get up. And what was worse, my wife started nagging me at day #3 because she wanted to "go out and do stuff". So lo and behold, I ended up having to get better on Saturday. She was happy. I, on the other hand, was not.

It kind of reminded me of a Cosby show episode where Claire and Heathcliff Huxtable were both sick with the flu, the kids let all hell break loose, and they end up deciding to get out of bed or else the world was going to go to shit.

I woke up the other day and was kinda wheezy and congested, but i think this is my regular touch of the cold due to weather change here.....but i welcome it, because that means that Fall is here....Squeeee!

I woke up with quite the hard-on yesterday.... didn't go away for about an hour.

Is morning wood a sickness?

I've had a joke thread going in the Party Room about possibly having Swine Flu the jury is still out on that but I definitely feel like shit. Hacking cough that feels like my lungs are going to burst from my chest like the Alien in the movie. I have the chills and am freezing my ass off and I'm dizzy and light headed (more than usual LOL). its not fun.

hey, that sounds like the bronchitis infection i got in my lungs awhile back......does your heart hurt yet? you should really get that checked out.

It is when you have to pee with the fury of ten thousand rivers.

hm, thought I'd post here. I do not have the flu or anything else like that but what I do have feels like the flu or a really bad cold when it flares up. I'm in the early stages of a connective tissue disease or so my doctor says. I've been sick physically as in joint pain, fatigue and sun problems for two years now. The diagnosis? It's a big question mark and for something like this you do not go in and get a test done and get diagnosed, it can take years sometimes to get diagnosed, the lucky ones which aren't so lucky get diagnosed in the E.R with a very severe form of the disease.

here are the ones my doctor is considering and watching me for further development that would require treatment with immune suppressing drugs if it becomes active enough to give us it's name.

1. Lupus
2. Rheumatiod arthritis
3. Seronegative spondylitis arthopathy-this is a new addition added recently, akylosis spondylitis due to the fact my lumbar is straight and has been since I was a teenager.

It's rather stressful not knowing which of these it is. He's pretty certain it's not Rheumatoid but cannot rule that out since I have joint pain sometimes on both sides of my body. I also run low grade fevers when I flare and get mouth ulcers. I match Lupus more than anythign else but it's not showing up in my blood. I had lupus screening test done called the antinuclear antibody test and it was a low titer amount 1:80. Something's not right but sooner or later we'll find out I guess.

Here's a picture of what happens to me when I'm in the sun, I have no makeup on and it's an ugly picture but here it is anyways.

These are blisters btw. they went away in about two days thankfully and did not scar.

here's a picture of what I commonly get on my face just from being outside

this looks like the malar rash seen in Lupus but not sure since I've also been diagnosed with roscea. The doctors themselves are confused over it.

I'd rather have the flu or anything else besides this. I feel like a vampire, shunning the sun, having to wear 100 spf sunscreen...gee, maybe I am? LOL

Was the NIN flu swine flu? anyone know?

I really hope it's not lupus, I've heard that it's awful.

I'm thankfully pretty healthy right now, but if I come down with anything it's usually in the winter.

I have a touch of hypochondria - does that count?

Jasphiel- honestly, the pictures look like classic discoid lupus and a malar rash with lupus. maybe rosacea too (you can have both). Try to get in to see an Immunologist if you can and get properly worked up and diagnosed.

NINfluenza was not swine flu but just run of the mill flu. Yeah, I caught it and then get pneumonia and then got an empyema (pus in my chest that had to be drained with a chest tube), but my underlying condition predisposed me to the horrible complications.

I'm posting today, though, because I broke my motherfucking finger at work. I smashed it trying to move a big body on an autopsy tray through a doorway. And had to finish taking the photos AND do 13 autopsies before I could go get it x-rayed and splinted. And the splint is currently bugging me 100000000000 more than the break. The ONLY decent thing is that its my middle finger, so with the splint I am constantly fliiping everyone off. Which suits me just fine.
