Well according to a NINwiki Tweet I rec'd recently, that isn't the case. Which is odd...
Anyone thinking we're getting an album time soon, you're dreaming, TR's already stated numerous times that he wanted to go the opposite way from the quick turnaround on Ghosts and The Slip. Frankly if he takes eight months and it turns out as good as any of the Fragile - YZ era - I'll be over the moon! Not that I don't love the last two albums, but they were a little patchy in places.
I don't disagree, but he is clearly doing something. Remember last summer when he had many believing (not me) that he was retiring. That's why I don't mind the tease at all. I'll take the trease if I get......well you know what I mean.
Yes, he's obviously working on music, but I think it'll be quite a while before it surfaces. You're right, I love all the intermediate stuff (like tonight), and we all lap it up, in good humour, but it builds expectation, which can only be good. He knows this, and thankfully likes to induldge us, while at the same time creating a buzz. Lead singer of Kasabian said the other day that the internet is killing rock stars, there's no mystique anymore, which I agree with, but if we didn't have the internet, then we wouldn't have this sort of sillyness!
It might be killing some artists and companies, but some are embracing the internet and making more money then they ever imagined-Trent being one of them. If you can sit through 15 minutes (I did) you will find this interesting....Trent Reznor-A Case Study of his business model.

Good stuff, that was quite bizarre, but obviously the more savvy amongst have sort of spotted that's what he's doing, but embrace it anyway. One thing though, I completed the survey, but never saw the e-mail that Trent sent out on the back of it that they referred to in that presentation. Does anyone still have it and if so, can you pm me, would be interested to see what he had to say.
