Help Me I am in Hell

Something about it just invokes images of brutal torture in my head.

03/24/11 3:09 AM

10 Miles High

not 'frightening', but it has an eerie sound to it, for me

03/24/11 4:31 PM

Ripe With (Decay) and Leaving Hope. I know how silly this might sound, but I don't really find myself listening to those songs at night most of the time, despite how much I appreciate them.

Like Trent said years ago, "Nine Inch Nails music is meant to scare and piss off your parents."

Ok, I don't even know if this is a real song or not, I haven't taken the trouble to figure it out but there's the b-side/bootleg thing floating around with something about the color blue in it. I'm pretty sure it's just called "Blue".... >_< SOO creepy! I'd 'acquired' it and had no idea what it was, so I was a little apprehensions (last time I acquired something I wasn't sure of, it was a creeper posting his masturbating noises..... )

So, I turn it on, and it's like my worst nightmare had sex with a really big hairy spider and it's progeny knew had to play synth! >_< EP! (Though, to be honest, Merzbow is creepier, and even his lightest stuff sends me shivers....)

03/25/11 10:48 AM

I'm not sure what that Blue track is but I'm pretty sure it's either not NIN or a mislabelled Fragile-era remix/B-side like The New Flesh (Version) or something.

^
almost sure it's "Something blue" from "Rusty nails" megamix, author unknown.

Pinion music video made me soo scared

03/25/11 2:32 PM

^^It's true! creepy video, indeed. I think The day the world went away (quiet) remember me to a cemetary, I don't know why... Always thought those sounds seem to evoke images of the most desolated places... O.o

04/05/11 5:59 PM

any closer or closer remix. not the subject of the song, just the sound and atmosphere.

hurt makes me feel alone.

a warm place reminds me of what would happen to me if zombies did exist (in my opinion, zombies are the scariest movie monster)

reptile. notice how all of these are from the downward spiral?

the downward spiral song. freakay stuff.

the wretched.

the day the world went away blew my ears for a week the first time i listened to it.

lights in the sky.

zero sum.

04/11/11 6:54 PM

ruiner ( the chorus) is epic scary. i dont know. that song is a headtrip

04/11/11 10:57 PM

from the first time i heard 32 Ghosts IV, i pictured a serial killer stalking potential victims. that, or people running away from zombies. it has a very horror movie score sound to it.

Pinion just sounds like unstoppable impending doom. and Help Me I Am In Hell gives off a very ominous, spooky vibe. both of those songs are especially creepy when accompanied with the videos.

from Fixed, about 6 minutes into Screaming Slave, all the noise and chaos suddenly stops and there are sounds of something resembling a man being tortured. it freaked out a bunch of my friends when i first let them hear it. they had a genuine "WTF was that" moment.

from The Day The World Went Away single, the Quiet Version ... this one... the first minute or so, with the NA NA NA NA, NA NA NA NA NA... to me always sounded a bit disturbed, like the sound of someone losing his mind, having a anxiety attack.

these songs mentioned can all be sort of uncomfortable and a bit scary, especially upon first listen. and i fucking loved them for that! smiling smiley

04/12/11 10:29 AM

actually none of the songs scare me now
but it was that in TDTWWA (Quiet) used to scare me and also listening to "TDS" (the song and the remix) for the first time when the scream came on...because I didn't expect it to happen but nowadays none of them scare me

04/17/11 5:25 AM

Even Deeper

04/20/11 5:51 PM

Hurt scares me to tears. I don't normally listen to it because it feels like I'm being pricked by a million needles. I feel raw and vulnerable and unsafe no matter where I'm at when listening to it.

I love your descriptions! Fucking hell man, I agree.

04/21/11 11:54 PM

the downward spiral (the bottom)...that scream.

04/25/11 11:32 AM

Pinion is just so eerie and I can't listen to it without thinking of the Broken movie.

Erased, Over, Out is fucking creepy. The screams make me think of someone being tortured and it goes on for so long that I always expect some loud noise to just come out of nowhere and make me jump.

04/26/11 9:09 AM

In the song The Downward Spiral, I don't like it when he screams, it kinda bugs me out. You know what I mean? It just sends a chill down my spine...

06/07/11 7:48 PM

The pinion video made me shit my pants when I first saw it.

06/12/11 5:56 AM

I do not want this

07/12/11 9:26 AM

I wouldnt say it scares me but the great below always gives me chills it just sounds so deep

The mark has been made isn't scary exactly but it does give me the chills. I absolutely love it though, especially the version from aatchb.

07/22/11 12:17 PM

The first time I heard The Downward Spiral(The Bottom), Trent's screaming scared the shit out of me!

07/29/11 2:17 AM

Closer (Further Away)

I cannot listen to this song in any dark room. Period.

Gives me the willies.

Oh, and Pinion. Not the song just as much as the video freaks me out.

I pissed myself. This calls for a hug.

Isn't it crazy how Trent's music can leave such different impacts on a person? Huh.

Agreed, straight man. Those descriptions were dead-on IMO.

08/02/11 11:57 AM

A little OT, but I listened to TDTWWA the other day, and when the guitar kicked in again before the "na na na na" part, I jumped out of my shoes.
