Sounds good. I am very excited for this and will get it in FLAC and CD.

05/29/10 2:10 PM

Good work, it sounds amazing!
This is worth paying for.

I'm sure many people will buy this, too.
Maybe it's wise to add more payment options.

05/29/10 3:26 PM

i won´t give my opinion because i´d be blocked again...

05/29/10 4:17 PM

WOAH. THATS IN 3 DAYS!!

05/29/10 6:47 PM

Everytime I come to the front page of nin.com I can't help but always think the picture here looks like Mariqueen is flipping (or getting ready to flip) the camera the double-finger.

This is my first posting here...however, NIN has been "IT" for me since the start, through all the changes. I was a fan back in the day when the preps used to mock us in school for our died black hair and then suddenly discovered what we already had known all along and became "fans", this when closer came out, and the same phenomenon repeating with every album. I am writing this and pointing this out for a reason, I have been reading these posts for a long time and find many of them to be lacking any perspective but that of someone's head up their own ass commenting on things for which they have no understanding: it seems everytime these people have discovered NIN through one album, they follow that up by bitching about the next one that comes out. Lets add something more here, lets also bitch about how TR decides to try and understand and work with his fans, showing them respect through the creation of this site and the remix site as well as the free downloads he has been offering.

So I really want to point out two things here:

1. an artist is not static, he or she is always evolving, always pushing over his or her own known limits. The moment this stops, the real creativity stops and what is created after this cannot truly be called art.

2. there is a simbiotic relationship between the artist and the fan...which is to say that the artist stays true to being an artist and honestly offers his truth to his fans with a real faith that what is offered is the best possible thing he could offer; the fan gives credit to the artist and allows him to be a true artist by giving him the freedom to freely explore his concepts, to grow... the fan will trust the artist that what is being created is right even if it is challanging or unfamiliar at first.

So, with these two points in mind, consider TR...He and his work have changed over the years...which proves that he is an intellgent human being and a real artist: meaning that his understanding of life has developed and that his work has evolved. Only morons will not and do not appreciate both points; and it seems that there are quite a few out there that do not appreciate the positive developments in this man's life or the continuing devlopment of his work...what is it that you people are wanting, that he stay in a personal misery forever and make only one song in one mode a million times over?

I will get off the electronic soap box with this; TR has been offering a lot of things many other musicians dont...a real attempt at interaction with his fans, a real attempt at understanding them, a willingness to forego some monetary rewards in the pursuit of offering his fans a true artistic creation...in other words, something real. As for this site having material for HDA, this is not the first time he has done this, I do believe he has promoted other groups he has not been a member of, or promoted projects he was involved with though not exclusivly NIN projects...Niggy Tardust, and NINJA come straight to mind. In this case, like those others, since TR is NIN, it makes since that he would promote them here since this is infact his site. (by the way, as in those other cases, HDA has its own site, he is only placing links and some general info here).
Lastly, can people stop bitching about what is being given to them for free? If you dont like it, dont take it, or dont listen to it.

Purchased shirt + ep. Thank you so much Trent Reznor, Mariqueen (Maandig) Reznor, and Atticus Ross for your work <3

Another release done so right. The full album free in .mp3, $2 for lossless formats, with proper physical CD and vinyl to follow. TR should offer consultation to other artists on how to do releases that don't suck.

AHH my brain hurtz..

Shouldn't there be a ";" in there someplace?

Oh I get it... YKWYA.
He doesn't need to explain it. It's called Cross Promotion.
On stage as NIN Trent said he was going to create new music with a new band...
Why wouldn't he continue to give us the updates about this new music?

AND FYI to yall, if you've been relying on the NIN page updates to find out about HDA you're lagging behind.

Personally I think HDA sounds different but not too different.
You can tell it's not Nails but in the same category. Up until now NIN has been in a category of their own.

I plan on buying the CD myself.
I Hope he comes up with a new type of "Halo" for my collection....of ALL OF THEM.
You know he will too...

is this not a NINE INCH NAILS website? (and hey, can you get your asses up to offer more payment options? atleast PayPal? i felt so fuckin refused.)

Ok. NIN here now. Or... [officialskinnypuppy.blogspot.com]

What is this fuckery?

I hope you get surprise buttsecks from a goat

You guys, I think what "battlecommand" meant was that this IS a NIN site, so why all the adv. for HTDA? So he went on this site and posted something from another gig-which I have to say is pretty funny. (And yeah yeah, I know Trent is in HTDA-and some of you will get all mad and stuff... but the dude makes a valid point)

http://www.1nsan3.com/Reviews/Pics/mov_elm6_4.jpg

The point is that Trent Reznor pays for this site. Trent Reznor is NIN. Therefore if Trent Reznor is involved with another project, then it is up to Trent Reznor if he posts about it on 'NEWS' section of the NIN site. People who like NIN and Trent Reznor, may also be interested to know that the man who is NIN, Trent Reznor, is now also involved in another project. Just like he did for Niggy Tardust. I shouldnt really need to explain that should I?

battlecommand makes a 'point'. The Validity of it, i.e, containing premises from which the conclusion may logically be derived, he has yet to explain.

Wow-Really TRENTS the one who pays for this site : o O M G! Thanx so much... What would I have done without you.. lol alright no,no dude I know what u mean, Ive just been on the line (between the total ass kissers that get all pissed if someone even THINKS that this project isnt great and the ones who are totaly pissed the fuck off with this whole thing) so, though I understand that 'Trent' pays for this 'site' and 'all' and 'stuff', I also-come to the defense of those poor souls that might get their heads chopped off for no reason.....

05/30/10 3:24 AM

free stuff! nice one.

I think that ends any arguments here

05/30/10 4:12 AM

He's not advertising just to sell us stuff, he's just making us aware that he is giving us the music they worked hard to create for free, and if we like it that much, sure, we can also buy it physically from them, or a T-shirt, which I am glad to do, because I like CDs and, well, maybe not T-shirts so much, but I want at least one for them. He does sell things, but he's never been unfair towards us, and I think it's reasonable to assume a prominent number of people here appreciate the information. We'll see how it goes when they sell their music and charge money.

He only wants to love us and make sweet music to us.

also important,

"Electric soap box", that's funny, I'm going to shamelessly steal and start using that in conversations. Just saying.

If anyone gets their 'head chopped off' there will be a good reason behind it, and they are therefore inherently indefensible. But I digress.

I am looking forward to listening to this in my car next weekend!

05/30/10 6:11 AM

Wow, I'm stoked! I bought poster #1 smiling smiley I love getting something unique with the music (I got one of those limited edition sets from Ghosts - love it!) regardless of if the music is free or not (I think the system currently set up is really cool).

I'm not sure why people seem to whine about HTDA stuff, though. It's not like we're getting updates on Megadeth on a NIN site...right? HTDA is a new project but has a lot of the elements that we love about NIN with some new great elements (namely his lovely wife). I liked The Space in Between and A Drowning when I first heard them...but after more and more listens, I just love the sound and the band. Really excited about this EP!

Spoken with true symbolism and irony.

Yup, still broken. Just though I would call this to attention again. I thought that a page with a white background was very un-HDA-ish...

05/30/10 10:36 AM

I knew not to buy the single on Amazon or Itunes because I was wondering if this one was free... I guess good things come to those who wait! I was listening to The Believers on my iPod earlier, and I was clicking the center button a few times to see if the lyrics were there, it said it was detected but unable to retrieve. I couldn't even find them on the lyrics tab in iTunes. Did anyone else have this problem?

05/30/10 11:13 AM

Can't wait!!!! Gonna be listn' to some great new jams~ Thank-You! smiling smiley
And to ratsiaria~kudos....your right on. I enjoyed reading your one and only post, thus far.....winking smiley Its appreciated for sure~ Hope everyone is enjoying this long weekend.
ciao~

Disagreed... Ive seen it time and time again--- some people get their heads chopped off just for being honest--not at all disrespectful-- just honest... I love NIN/Trent -but some of the stuff that goes on, on this website is absolutely horrendous...
....good day///

05/30/10 12:03 PM

I have decided to open up a separate thread for whether or not battlecommand should be defended for his post, so this thread can stay on topic....ok, kidding, don't go check.

05/30/10 12:07 PM

If I could choose to look however I liked, it would be like Trent. I know its kinda cheesy to say that, but look at him in this picture... looks like a damn leader:O

05/30/10 2:33 PM

I hope it is ok to post this here. I searched around first and couldn't find the proper place. Just so I don't sound like a complainer I did order a poster and a physical copy of the cd from amazon. Can't wait to hear it.

I use Ubuntu as my primary OS not Mac / Windows. I noticed that the EP wasn't available the new Ubuntu One Music Store which has a lot of other stuff. I also noticed none of the post Interscope Nine Inch Nails albums were available there (yet) either.

I realize that probably like 3% of the world and me use free and open source software on their desktops. smiling smiley Just thought I would make the suggestion.

I like the new direction!! Welcome aboard Miss. Maandig.

05/30/10 3:41 PM

I'll give the free version a try. What I've heard so far are recycled lyrics, patches/samples, fuzz boxes, etc. from "The Fragile" with a lead doing a fetid imitation of PJ Harvey.

05/30/10 4:44 PM

I would glady give Trent Reznor my money to keep him making music, which is why I made the $50 purchase of this...awesome material, Trent, you are my idol...
