6 tracks of would be industrial destroyed by Mariqueen's voice. Basically what I expected. It's like the Quake soundtrack with her singing over it.

Quake soundtrack is cooler than this.

But I've been saying that since Ghosts.

Fur Lined? I love it. Got the $2.00 HD Upgrade and will pick up the CD next week.

I really enjoy this EP. I like the three new tracks even better than the first three that were released. Well done, Atticus, Mariqueen & Trent! And thanks for giving this precious music to us as a present!

Everything, everything, everything, everything is echoing, echoing, echoingwinking smiley

im really diggin on the new EP , i have to say BBB is my favorite

06/01/10 2:09 PM

I think it's awesome, although I am disappointed that the physical copy won't cost 30 dollars and come in a wooden crate with a flimsy vinyl.

06/01/10 3:27 PM

not a fan. too noisy, man. i love drowning so much because it is clear. i don't know. ... this seems like music for teens to me. - but, hey - a drowning is still very dear to me. and i like the first one too. but i just wish trent would kill all his machines and get down to the basics. i'd be happy with just his piano and mariqueen's voice. ... but keep trying!

06/01/10 4:05 PM

Just finished my first listen through. Sounds good, the songs that WEREN'T released earlier are definitely my favorites. That's probably just because they sound more like traditional NIN. I love free music.

Consider me a fan.

FINALLY GOT THE FUCKING THING TO DOWNLOAD! MY STUPID COMPUTER OR MAYBE ME COULDN'T GET THE FANCY FILES TO DOWNLOAD! SO IM SO GLAD I GOT JUST THE MP3 VERSION ASWELL.

THE FULL EP IS FUCKING CLASS!!!! I LOVE HOW DARK IT IS, THE WHOLE EP FITS SO WELL TOGETHER. LOTS DEPTH AND LOTS TO RE LISTEN TO.

THANK YOU ALL WHO WAS A PART OF IT... MORE MORE MORE

06/01/10 5:44 PM

This is exquisite. Mariqueen's vocals merge with the NIN-elements to create another power of dimension. I'm thrilled to hear Trent's signature throughout. I love it all.

Trent!!!!!!!

Thank You - $2.00 for all this in high def and now the 1080 video - what can I say? Again, Thank You! Of course I'll be hooking up with the disc & vinyl (MMF-7, McIntosh Amp & Klipsh loudspeakers + the HTDA vinyl = Nirvana!)

I have burned this to disc and have had it playing on repeat for, um, awhile!

Wow! -pause- ...I love it!

"A Drowning" - Damn! That track is dark, sexy, stellar - a new high!
"The Space in Between" - That Sound! ...Awesome from every angel! Love the Feel!!!
"The Believers" - Hypnotic, Deep, Interesting, Intricate - Wish it was an hour long.
"BBB" - Love this track & this tempo, rhythm, groove, tight!
"Fur Lined" & "Parasite" - Thank You! "Fur Lined" is a great nudge to grab some later NIN and go back. ...Similar sound, a hint - but this Reznor dude is in both bands, so I guess that just makes sense, huh, imagine that. ;-)

Mariqueen's voice - perfect with what you guys have done here! You all should be really proud of your latest artistic outing... Beautiful, edgy, dark, sexy, intricate, different - congratulations!

Don't let a few people who are never going to be satisfied discourage you - 99% of us here love it and truly appreciate your talent and generosity! Here's to HTDA!

Doug

Anyone know where they will sell the EP?

06/01/10 8:38 PM

parasite is great...had it on full blast on the ride home and my cheeks got flushed.

06/01/10 9:11 PM

It was great seeing the link in my email today after forgetting about requesting it last night and now I get to wait as it downloads extra slowly...

To be honest I didn't care for A Drowning so much but now I'm really looking forward to hearing some of the noisier songs Trent promised would be on it.

06/02/10 1:37 AM

I'm impressed, i think. A Space in Between is an awesome song.

06/02/10 4:07 AM

Giddy with how great this EP is!!! Cranked the fucker at the gym this morning and loved every second of it! Thank you Trent & Co. for your excellent work and generosity!!!

06/02/10 4:26 AM

Tell me what you think of it. Its my first go and I plan on doing a better one a little later.

spinning smiley sticking its tongue out
I however have some questions :
- this great EP doesn't have any name ? it's just "How To Destroy Angels" by HTDA ?
- is it my imagination or Trent sings with Mariqueen on "Parasite" and also on "BBB" ? So great !

We enjoy !

I think it was good, Trent said it was released early and I can see maybe there are some tonality and connotation things that could be possibly be worked out, maybe more distinction through tonality on the songs to individualize them a little more, but there are some cool things about all the songs and the structure of the songs. Liked Spaces in Between and A Drowning already. Liked the energy in Fur lined. Liked the "Insecticon" vocals going on in Parasite. I thought the other two were okay. Not too much complaint.

It's not bad, but it doesn't really stand out to me ether. Musically it sounds kinda like Trent on auto-pilot. Not that that's bad necessarily, it's just not the most memorable thing he's done. Honestly, for being named after a Coil release I was hoping for something a bit more adventurous. That said I'll been keeping an ear out for future stuff, and I hope that Peter Christopherson really does get involved in this. I've long wanted to see some kind of collaboration between him and Trent apart from just remixes or videos.

Am I the only one who feels that charging so little for something they worked so hard on compared to things like Posters is a little bit odd?

Unless they're planning on touring or something?

Edit: maybe Odd was the wrong word to use, because I know they're being anti-record label charging a lot etc.. but still

What can I say? Although refreshing to hear the music of Trent, WTF, is it just me or is this kinda fucked? Maybe I'm just stubborn or stupid.. but, talk about conforming to the fame machine. I love NIN, and I love the lyrics, it just seems like SOMEONE is whipped. No offense Trent.KISSES XXX I beat my machinespinning smiley sticking its tongue out

I'm liking what I'm hearing. Can't say which is my favourite song so far, but 'Fur Lined' is getting a lot of play. The drum beat start does remind me of 'Only'.

A nice taster of great things to come. Thanks a lot guys!

why do you belong to this site if you are not a fan, what's the point man!? and if ya didn't know his machines are what makes him stand out from the rest. All though other bands play other types of instruments most bands sound the same with the same basic beats and that's BORING!! in my personal opinion!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!

Great EP. I love you Trent. Mariqueen and Atticus you're growing on me.

Thanks for this gift.

I listened a few times and have to say I'm sort of disappointed. Maybe it'll grow on me like some NIN songs did, but even the heavier tracks come off as sounding really sterile and emotionless. The one exception is The Space In Between, which completely makes up for the rest of the tracks.

I feel kind of bad for not liking it, but seeing the other mixed reviews here made me brave enough to be honest. And despite being let down, I can still respect how much hard work went into it and still want to thank them all for sharing it with us.

06/02/10 10:56 PM

I agree with the above, I'm not happy about this one. It's slow noisy and boring. I've gave it a second listening chance but it's still not growing on me, it's still pretty bad. I guess this is where we part ways.
