Excellent album!!! I like it very much! Parasite is awsome!!!!

Wow, there are always a few selfish, narrow minded idiots on this site and I feel bad that T-Rez and co. have to skim through such negativity because it isn't strictly NIN. Grow up and expand your horizons people - in all seriousness.

Anyways... I think the EP is amazing!!! The synth solo in "The Believers" is the most amazing thing I've ever heard and can't get enough of it! Love all the songs and can't wait for a full length offering from HTDA!!!

Thanks again Mariqueen, Trent, and Atticus!!

what does BBB stand for? Overall this project sounds confused. Some songs just sound like long snippets from songs or really lack lustre with no melody??? I'll stick to NIN and any more gory HDA clips they want to throw our way. And if parasite indeed refers to us fans, well they are feeding off the fame so are just as culpable.

Big Black Boots

oh thanks, i thought it stood for Boyn't Borrowed Beard

how do you like it?

Have you listened to the song?

Note to Michael Trent Reznor:

It is time for you to do an interview with Charlie Rose.

06/05/10 11:15 AM

Question on my lips is...

...now what?

06/05/10 6:14 PM

I'm looking forward to future music from HTDA!

What can I say? Some of us genuinely don't care for it and I don't see anything selfish ot narrowminded about being honest. I'm sure the 3 of them can handle and even appreciate a little constructive criticism, especially while the project is in its early stage.

Yes, I agree. I'm sure they would prefer us to be honest and not mindlessly kissing ass.

Yes, apologies for us lacking your broadness of thought and altitude of consciousness.

I'm sure everyone involved knows what they are dealing with. The discerning music listener is as worthy a fan as the one that responds positively as a given. Some people can be relied on to be positive, others to give criticism. No one thinks you're idiotic for submitting your comments about it being the best thing you've heard. Without both - there is no substance balance. Nothing I say about this music changes my feelings about NIN. I just have a hard time finding what relevance this music has to me outside of the fact that it involves Trent Reznor. comprende?

Kissing ass can be mindful too.
For example:

Just preordered on Amazon!

My favorite part of ordering is adding the missing pieces to my nin collection.
Last time is was further down and fixed...this time atchb and tfa.

I know most of you may already have these but hey...It is new to me.
So I get new NIN in 2010 regardless of what Trent does.

I like the HTDA depute as well. I have a better feeling about Q after hearing the whole set.
I am looking forward to hearing that swarma gadget on some new ghost.

I would expect some very human comments if I were Trent, but come up time for criticism there's a difference in constructive criticism and criticism with unnecessary commentary like "Trent could you put some Paypal options up, it would be more convenient, you asshole slave that I own!"

Of course if it's just mindless agreement it can get it's own version. "Trent this EP was great, please don't hurt me, oh master for peeking my head out, I am but a servant."

Last time I checked Trent just expected mutual respect between himself and his fans. People can be honest going into a neutral subject without the Tourette Syndrome.

Yes!!! For me whats relly "selfish/narrow minded etc..." would be that looking through (even forums) the "oh this is the best thing that ever happened to man kind" coments/forums are left open to blossom... now, the ones that are like, "eh, not really" or my favorite "ANYONE DISAPPOINTED?" are locked/shutdown... thats so strange to me... its like, if you put htda on this site, people should be free to express their genuine opinions about it, not "scared" to be honest----most of us arent disrespectful about our -not being a fan of this whole thing-Youd be surprised how many people come on these things all like, "Yay, I Loooove this smooch smooch *asskissing*" and then turn around and tell me "dude this totally blows, she cant even sing" U KNOW Who U are up there winking smiley

06/07/10 5:58 AM

^^ Agreed!!! That is what I was trying to say earlier. smiling smiley

06/07/10 2:47 PM

Just heard "The Space in Between." Wow!! It's almost some classic NIN instrumental(think Downward Spiral-ish) but Mariqueen Maandig's voice flows soooo smoothly with the whole vibe, it just kicks ass. Glad to hear something new from Trent (We KNEW you couldn't stay away. Music's your blood, it's gotta flow).
So goin' out tonight after work and picking this up!!

I was expecting to be shitlisted or at the very least criticized for speaking up so it was nice to come back and read supportive comments from the other people that didn't care for it. None of us should need to be afraid of expressing an unpopular opinion, especially at a forum like this.

I like it. A lot. I've had various snippets of the EP circling in my head since i first heard it.
In particular the pil/Damage Manual - Jah Wobble'esque bassline to 'parasite' has been on loop in my brain almost permanently.
More please! smiling smiley

I wholeheartedly agree. Personally, I love this EP but I have no problem with people voicing honest, constructive opinions! What's the point of saying "OMG BEST EVAR!" if you genuinely don't believe that? And to be honest, I think the "true" fans are the ones who genuinely say what they think and feel about an artist's piece of work, not the people who continuously say everything is great JUST because they like that artist.

06/09/10 7:39 AM

I like it! ;-)
I think it's like ghosts with vocals... Something like that...

06/09/10 7:36 PM

I love the new sounds! Trent Reznor forever!!!

06/09/10 7:54 PM

Thanks for the free music Trent! You're fabulous as always!

So I really want to point out two things here:

1. an artist is not static, he or she is always evolving, always pushing over his or her own known limits. The moment this stops, the real creativity stops and what is created after this cannot truly be called art.

2. there is a simbiotic relationship between the artist and the fan...which is to say that the artist stays true to being an artist and honestly offers his truth to his fans with a real faith that what is offered is the best possible thing he could offer; the fan gives credit to the artist and allows him to be a true artist by giving him the freedom to freely explore his concepts, to grow... the fan will trust the artist that what is being created is right even if it is challanging or unfamiliar at first.

So, with these two points in mind, consider TR...He and his work have changed over the years...which proves that he is an intellgent human being and a real artist: meaning that his understanding of life has developed and that his work has evolved. Only morons will not and do not appreciate both points; and it seems that there are quite a few out there that do not appreciate the positive developments in this man's life or the continuing devlopment of his work...what is it that you people are wanting, that he stay in a personal misery forever and make only one song in one mode a million times over?

I will get off the electronic soap box with this; TR has been offering a lot of things many other musicians dont...a real attempt at interaction with his fans, a real attempt at understanding them, a willingness to forego some monetary rewards in the pursuit of offering his fans a true artistic creation...in other words, something real. As for this site having material for HDA, this is not the first time he has done this, I do believe he has promoted other groups he has not been a member of, or promoted projects he was involved with though not exclusivly NIN projects...Niggy Tardust, and NINJA come straight to mind. In this case, like those others, since TR is NIN, it makes since that he would promote them here since this is infact his site. (by the way, as in those other cases, HDA has its own site, he is only placing links and some general info here).

Lastly, can people stop bitching about what is being given to them for free? If you dont like it, dont take it, or dont listen to it.[/quote]

I agree totally with Ratsiaria and get sick of reading the same moaning shit over and over again.

If trent can evolve so can you. the world does not stay the same, Trent's music is NOT all the same. So it not what you want to hear so dont listen.

people stop bitchin and give constructive critism.

/quote]

PS I really like HTDA EP and cant wait for the full length album
O also love the fact that we have tracks to play with
thanks TR MMR AT and the wonderful alan moulder for a very interesting selection of tracks
