I pm'ed another mod about starting this thread...but since Marodi posted in it, I'm going to take it that I have a "blessing".

Sheepdean: At least I gave you credit! spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

OMS: I was thinking about starting a thread like that myself, actually. The award season is only beginning and we need to keep track of everything Trent and Atticus will win, especially so we can make fun of the Oscars when our guys don't get nominated because of a technicality.

One place I love for getting updates on these various awards is imdb. They mean business over there!

edit: Trent and Atticus are nominated for the Critics Choice Awards: [www.imdb.com]

Ahhh, I'll add Critic's Choice to the list!

And I just have to add...FUCK THE GRAMMY'S!

ETA: oh wait, I've got it listed.

Trent's IMDb awards list but it's not complete. Grrrr.

Trent has a page for himself and NIN has a page too. And imdb is a bit like Wikipedia; it's up to us to update it with relevant info. grinning smiley

Noooo, I'm too lazy to do that. tongue sticking out smiley

Actually, I'd be afraid I'd make a typo or post misinformation on something so important. I broke out in hives just from making this post. (i kid)

Its good to see them getting some recognition. I wonder if they will attend any of the ceremonies - if they are that kind of award?

Of course!

And good question. Globes, SAG and Oscars are kinda awkward when the winners are NOT there to accept the awards.

eta: SAG is just actors...ooppsie.

Learn to read a timestamp, as I was posting, he was editing the first entry. OR was it the second guy. Oh well, I'll say this about myself, I was the first one on this board after the movie came out to say the TR would get an Academy Award, and he will, and he'll win. That kid is getting tons of respect in the industry.

Let up Max, this isn't the place for that drama.

So who else hopes:

1) They win (goes without saying);
2) They start making the rounds of the late-night talk shows... even if some people who shall remain nameless might not want to do that kind of thing, or might be busy with other very important things at the present, still, it's what "is done" to promote the film as a whole. The more talk the whole thing has for every category nominated, the more likely to win in any category; and
3) They go to the awards shows and provide the conspiracy theorists with untold hours of joy at dissecting the hidden ARG clues given in their pithy answers to E! and Joan Rivers. tongue sticking out smiley

They have the same birthday after all (day not year, they are actually four or five years apart in age)

Yes! Plus we could revel in Dueling Accents with Atticus Ross & Craig Ferguson. :-D

Would love to see them on:

Daily Show/Colbert Report
Charlie Rose
Conan
Terry Gross (Fresh Air)
Martha Stewart ["and next we'll be making scones & tea with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross--perfect for when you're lumped up like a slug all day in front of the computer"]

SNL (host[s], not musical guest - more screen time as hosts)

Well it's a fun dream anyway. ;-)

Can The Social Network soundtrack qualify for an oscar? It uses previously written material from Ghosts. I know Johnny Greenwood's There Will Be Blood score was disqualified because it used work from his previous piece Popcorn Superhet Receiver.

Congrats to Atticus Ross & Trent Reznor on the Golden Globe nomination for best original score!!!

Here are the official rules concerning the Original Score category

I think it's better not to keep our hopes up and to be pleasantly surprised then to wish for it and be disappointed... sad smiley
