My hopes? More noise-based stuff. The Slip was good, but it seems like most of it was written from a very "band" perspective. I liked how in albums like Pretty Hate Machine, TDS and Ghosts that Trent tapped into a noisier side of music. I don't want it to sound like those albums, that's just an element I'd love to see re-explored, especially considering that he doesn't have to play any new NIN material live.
I didn't assume at all that it was necessary.
However, I did assume that a fair amount of us here like NIN based on what's previously been released, and although I love new additions and innovation, I do like an Industrial style.
This is why I put "Your hopes."
These might be some of MY hopes. You don't have to share them, I'd like to hear your own. And, I agree. Noise music owns. One of my favorite artists behind Trent, Tobacco, is a noise musician and I love the style of it. I always thought 23 Ghosts was pretty good, too.
Thank you for contributing your thoughts, unlike Sheepdean, who continues to overlook everything I say and assert things beside the point.
