Hands down...ERASER

02/10/10 2:51 PM

No You Don't. That idea was recycled from Manson's "Mister Superstar" from Antichrist. It's a great "electronic" beat.

Also, I agree with March of the Pigs and its weird time.

March of the pigs & I like Discipline too

word. Does anybody know who played that ridiculous drumtasti-gasm at the end? Was it trent? Or programmed? or a sit-in?

02/19/10 10:32 AM

The Perfect Drug followed shortly by "You Know What You Are" and "Eraser".

02/19/10 10:34 AM

I'm partial to Gave Up.

02/19/10 10:37 AM

Five way tie between:

Eraser
Head Down
We're In This Together
Demon Seed
March Of The Pigs

02/19/10 11:58 AM

I might be only one of the few that says this, but Demon Seed/38 Ghosts?

02/19/10 3:17 PM

March of the Pigs, Piggy, Letting You

02/20/10 4:49 PM

Eraser, March of the Pigs, or Gave Up. Eraser has such awesome drums. Every time I get on a drum set I can't stop playing it.

The drum "solo" overdub whatever bit in Piggy has to be the best drum moment for me. it might not have been trent on the drums but i just have the perfect image in my mind of him just flipping out on the kit with a face like this --> Dx< .

Watch the Fragile tour vid of it, the drumming is very krieg

Actually, it was him. It's also the goddamn best part of the song.

^^^ you kind of look like Tom Warrior from Celtic Frost in your avatar. Awesome. cool smiley

07 Ghosts I is one that probably doesn't get mentioned too much. Boombox City. I'm Looking Forward to Joining You, Finally is also worthy of note in my opinion: The drums are strangely ominous, as is just about the rest of the song.

The Perfect Drug, or the March of the Pigs

06/19/10 7:08 AM

March of the Pigs (when I finally worked out how to play it, it felt awesome!)
I Do Not Want This (I dunno, I like how bare and pausey it is, it fits the song well)
Burn
The Great Destroyer (for electronica anyway)
Letting You
Wish (when the double kicks kick in near the end it blew me away live)
1,000,000

I'm Looking Forward To Joining You Finally
It's simple, but nice.

The Big Come Down
You gotta love that old-time industrial sound.

Piggy
The best drums in the NIN catalog. End of story.

Trent would probably be amused to find that his totally amateurish, cacophonous, improvised "solo" has received more critical acclaim than pretty much all of the meticulously composed drumtracks ever laid down for his music. It's funny because the end result WAS good, and he was just dicking around.

In my opinion, the most aggressive and best drums would have to be Happiness in Slavery from Fixed and/or All the Pigs, All Lined Up from the MotP Single. They annihilate any other wannabe screamo-death metal band out there that's trying to be "different."

Aside from live performances with Josh Freese, HYPERPOWER!

Basically anything off TDS - Eraser I'd say wins.

i really really like eraser- for some reason, i really like the collector a lot, its fun to play if you have everything tuned and sounding right.

i also think downward spiral live is amazing, i mean, every version is badass, but live its like a super MASH fest. must have gone through new heads every show...well, im sure they just put new heads on for every show just for good measure. lol.

i also think 'just like you imagined' is badass. especially the drum situation.

'wish' live is also badass. please enjoy this:

and if you're big on 'march', then check this out:

also-
i'm really interested in getting some good black stands for my drum kit- i put together a black on black kit and i wanted to see if anyone knew where to get good black stands and stuff. i found some online from some LA area drum shop, but they look cheap..
